The paper, as with most around the country, has gone even farther South as the Internet has taken over as many people's prime source of news. They have farmed out the local employment listings to Yahoo Hot Jobs which annoys me for some reason. I do like the Monday Metro Business section as a great way to keep up on developments locally. The website is pretty bad as well.

While on the waitlist, we wandered into this little bookshop, and I was instantly impressed. They were fantastic titles on display, and the owner is very obviously knowledgeable about books for all ages. She helped each of my kids, find two books, and said she was happy to order any books that we did not have in the store. It was one of the best bookstore experiences I have had in many years! This is like the "toys that teach" of bookstores.

The prices were all for new books, so full price. When I got there, they had a table of books for $1, mostly kid's books. Once inside, there are books along the wall. I also saw comic books, records and some vintage ads by decades. They have a very tiny kid's section nothing to rave about. My impression is that they had a lot of books, but not a lot of popular books. It was still worth a look. I did see some books about Art and Architecture. I am sure I am missing mentioning more, but that is what I remembered. The books were fairly priced and was glad to find 2 books. There's nothing I love better than browsing a high-end magazine like this, dreaming over the designer kitchens, bespoke clothes, and incredible antiques. Like my mother always said, I have champagne taste on a beer budget (well, imported beer budget anyway!) The writing and photography are excellent, with topics that will give you a vicarious invitation to some of the most exclusive addresses in our beautiful state.
