I discovered Hudson Milk at a local Farmer's Market last summer, and I'm so glad I did! They have the best products and service--nothing better than waking up in the morning to fresh, glass-bottled milk at your door (along with lots of other fabulous products). It's also great to know exactly WHERE your food is coming from. They work with small farmers and can honestly tell you about all of them! When I met them at the Farmer's Market they told me they were like a Farmer's Market on wheels, and they really are. They bring the farm right to your front door. Give them a try--you won't be disappointed at all. Our favorite products so far are the uncured bacon, the burratta, the Natalie's OJ, the meadow butter, the dam good English muffins, the steaks, and of course the MILK! How wonderful is it to have a milk man deliver fresh, family farm dairy to your doorstep each week!? We email them with our order on Sunday evening, and they come each Friday morning and leave the order in a little cooler on our front porch along with an invoice. We leave our empty (clean) glass bottles and a check each week for them to pick up when they deliver. We usually get milk, half and half, butter, and cottage cheese. We've also gotten apple cider (in season), pizza dough, fresh ricotta and mozzarella, and bread. Everything has been delicious so far, and the people are extremely nice. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to write a bad review for Hudson Milk Co. I am a firm supporter of local businesses, and my family eats local, organic produce and everything else I can access in this area that is healthy, local, and organic. We found out about Hudson Milk in our search for grass-fed milk, and I was ecstatic - for a while. The milk is DELICIOUS... when it's actually fresh! :-( However, the last two deliveries I received ended up spoiling way too quickly. It turns out that some of the milk they deliver is delivered RIGHT BEFORE the expiry date. Even when I contacted the company, and they agreed that the sell-by date was way too close to the delivery date, I received the same milk the next time. Poor, poor customer service. The first time this happened, we received a delivery on 4/14. We got four containers of milk, and the sell-by date was 4/18 for all of them. Thinking it would be fine, we continued to try to drink them, but realized that they all spoiled by that date. My husband actually had the milk with his cereal, not realizing that it was spoiled... until he had the worst gastrointestinal distress that entire day and the next!! Yes, usually, milk lasts a few days past the sell-by date, but for some reason, this milk DOES NOT last past that date. BEWARE. We contacted Hudson Milk and were given a refund for the spoiled milk. We were told by Tom (our contact there) that we shouldn't have received milk that close to the sell-by date. He said he was upset at his employees and told them that they shouldn't have delivered that milk so close to the sell by date. For our next delivery, we received the exact same thing - our delivery was on April 28th, and three out of four bottles had an expiry of 5/2!! Again, that's FOUR DAYS to drink THREE HALF GALLONS OF MILK. One single bottle had a sell-by date of 5/9. Why did we receive three bottles, once again, that would go bad??? When Tom had agreed that those dates were too close together? Apparently, they did not correct their mistake. We contacted Tom at Hudson Milk once again, and were told that the milk should be fine. So we tried, in good faith, to believe him. We drank the milk, etc. But then, sure enough, by Friday 5/2, two of the bottles of milk were spoiled. Only the bottle we had consumed was fine (because we consumed it before that date). Only the bottle that had a sell-by date of 5/9 was still fresh and OK to drink. For a company that totes FRESH milk delivery, Hudson Milk Co. does not, in fact, deliver fresh milk all the time. Be wary. The products are wonderful when fresh, but freshness is certainly not guaranteed. Very sad to not support them anymore, because it was delicious while it lasted. read more

We have used Hudson Milk for about ten years with no problems. Our milk has never been spoiled, even when we use it after the sell-by date. And we have five kids, so we go through a LOT of milk! We also love their bacon, eggs, cheeses (fresh mozzarella, burrata, ricotta, it's all amazing). You can get seasonal items, like cider and egg nog, as well as yogurt, breads, juices, granolas ... the list goes on and changes frequently. We had their stuffed pork chops last night, and they were great! The service is amazing. Everything is delivered to our door and placed in our coolers so it stays until we can convince the kids to help put it away. Tom is always available to answer questions, though the website is so easy to use I don't have to bother him much. It's simple to skip or update deliveries. In the summer they deliver during the day so the products are not outside as long. The staff's commitment to their company is inspiring. They really want to make sure the customer is happy and enjoys their products. Obviously I can't say enough about Hudson Milk. We'll be customers forever. read more

It's been a few years since I've used Hudson Milk, and decided to give them another whirl. Pleasantly, to my surprise, they've stepped up their game. Since the last time they've changed management. They respond right away. Several times I've run out of eggs and milk, my fault as I forgot to bump up the order, called and they've made special deliveries. I just left Hudson Milk after two years. I felt the customer service is mediocre so if an egg or two was broken they did not care or replace it. I tried several different products that I didn't like but I loved the milk. The milk lasted 7-9 days and after that it spoiled.I spent about $20 per week for a few years and when my delivery did not arrive I emailed and got a call saying I was the 12th caller that they think someone followed their truck to these dozen or so houses. I was in shock and was told to call the police. The police filed a report and when I called to follow up a week later they said the owner still had not supplied them with a list of client names who stole the deliveries. I was also charged for the deliveries that were stolen. I live in a very safe area and told the detective it is impossible for someone to drive down my 200 ft driveway, walk up my long walkway to my second front door, steal my groceries and turn around and catch up to the truck. The story seemed suspicious. I also questioned my bill and they confirmed that they charged me. I am upset that someone may have followed their truck to my house that a stranger may have been walking around my house while we were sleeping, could come back and to top it off if it happens again, I have to pay for it. I cannot afford to pay for groceries that I don't receive and don't want to use a company that doesn't value its customers. I think people should know before they use this company read more

I'm very pleased with Hudson Milk's service. Our milk is always fresh and really superior to what we get in the grocery store. All the other products we've tried have also been excellent and I am very happy with the customer service. I order Fresh Direct for a lot of our groceries, but I'm very glad to support a local, reliable business for our milk and other local products. read more
