I've given Hudson Heating way too many chances. They overcharge for everything, and one person has no idea what the last person did. The final straw came when I scheduled maintenance over a month out. I called before that appointment because my unit was blowing cold. The person who answered the phone (with a "Hello" so that I had to ask if I even had the right number) said they would have someone call me and get someone out that day. They never called, so I called back and was told the tech was out sick and that I should call another company. I decided to wait it out for my scheduled service call. The day came and I hadn't heard anything so I called to reconfirm and was told that once again the tech was out sick and no one could come. The only reason I wasn't left waiting all day was because I called. They said someone would call to reschedule in about an hour. No one ever called. This company is a joke. read more

I'm honestly surprised this company is still in business. It took a few owners and tenants threatening a lawsuit to get the job done!!!! I would never have hired them if I was involved just by reading the reviews on them in any forum whether it be Yelp or Google, etc. They started our job in October 2023. As of June 2024 it is still not completed! They keep giving excuse after excuse. One of the ongoing excuses is they need the weather to be 55 or higher without rain, thunder & lightening. I have emails and texts regarding this as well as conversations. You go back and research the weather in Hudson on most of those days and you'll see they had plenty of time to get it done sooner. My suspicion is they get you in a position of needing them to "just finish the job already" while they leave you hanging and they go money grab elsewhere. It's a horrible way of doing business. I would never hire them nor would I ever recommend them. All of these reviews are seriously honest reviews and you should heed the warning. My HOA board and property management company really failed on hiring this company. The service is below subpar, the value definitely isn't worth it, and I'm praying the quality is above average and we have no issues. read more

We first had Banjo from Hudson Heating out to do a primary maintenance on our oil furnace. He said that he needed to order a nozzle and would be back when the nozzle came in. After 3 appointments being rescheduled (on them) he finally made it out on Friday, December 23, the day the blizzard was to hit Ohio with -30 wind chill factors. As he was leaving, we thanked him for coming and said how nice it was to have someone who knew the oil heating system. He said that if he is not familiar with the system, all he does is find it on "You Tube" (very comforting). We then handed him a check for $680 for a nozzle, and a filter and less than 45 minutes of work. Soon after Banjo left, we started having problems with the furnace. He told my husband that he would be back before noon to fix the problem. I called Amie, the owner's wife to let her know that we were having issues and she said that she would have Banjo come back out that afternoon. Well, Banjo never showed up and nobody ever called us back. Saturday, December 24, 2022, I woke around 3:30 a.m. to find that we did not have any heat and the temperature in the house was down to 50. My husband called the emergency line for Hudson Heating (around 4:00 a.m.) which goes directly to the owner, Joe Bettio. Joe did not answer, nor did Joe ever call my husband back. I then left a message for Amie, Joe's wife, letting her know that Banjo did not return on Friday afternoon like she said he would, and that we did not have any heat. It is now -3 degrees outside. After not getting any response from anyone at Hudson Heating, my husband and I started calling other companies that service oil furnaces. My husband hit the reset button on the furnace and got it working somewhat but never to its full potential. Sunday, December 25th, we woke again to no heat......now we have a fire in the family room and 2 electric heaters trying to keep warm. Still, no response from Hudson Heating after spending $680 on someone who made a furnace that was working perfectly to not working at all. (Reminder, this was just a primary maintenance visit that turned horribly wrong!!) Monday, December 26th, woke again to no heat, finally we reached another company and they had someone at the house by noon, someone who is specifically trained in the oil furnace industry. Within 45 minutes, he had our furnace up and running along with having hot water!!!! The technician said, 'whoever was here on Friday, put the wrong size nozzle on the furnace and had no idea what he was doing (Banjo) with the wiring'.....we were blowing through the oil, with very little heat. The cost to fix the $680 screw - up, $150.70 and that is putting the right size nozzle and parts in the furnace!! So, from our experience this past weekend, I would not recommend Hudson Heating and Cooling, they are a complete rip off. They have absolutely no compassion for their customers who had no heat on one of the coldest weekends so far this winter! Not even a call back. I feel terribly bad for Amie, Joe and there family, as they must live in a not-so-great suburb of Akron, to have to charge people so much more than most companies just to make ends meet. We do however have our new go to heating and air conditioning company, and it was the one that came out on Monday and corrected the screw up that Banjo created. I personally give them a negative review. They are absolutely the worst for everything. Sales, service, customer service,. They are highway robbers. They feed you a bunch of BS and never take care of any problem but charge an arm and a leg. They do not stand by there customers or the products they sell. They will come out and give you a maintenance visit and a week later the unit is down and they charge 500+ dollars. They hire people who know how to rig the units so they break down. My recommendation is that NO ONE uses Hudson Heating. There are plenty of honest people out there in this business.. these people should go out of business. read more

This company came out Friday afternoon to fix a funny noise and oil smell from our furnace and oil tank. Up until the company arriving, we had heat. They were supposed to arrive between 12-2, calling before they arrive. They showed up 30 mins after 2pm, without a phone call and were here for 2 hrs. After 2 hours with 2 guys, one of which we were told was training, which is what took 2 hrs for a furnace tune up costing $175.00, we had no heat for the remainder of the weekend as our furnace stopped producing heat the second they left. We were told the oil filter on the oil tank needed to be replaced, which is why all of a sudden we had no heat and it had absolutely nothing to do with anything Hudson Heating did. We were also told as a courtesy that the furnace pump needs to be replace and this would cost $500.00 because the pump is located in Oklahoma. When calling another oil company to come out Monday to see our options about draining the oil in the tank so that we could change the filter, they stated the shut off valve was clearly broken in the off position, not allowing the filter to be changed while oil was still in the tank. There was a nut put on the end of the shut off valve so that a wrench or socket could turn the shut off value which is what clearly broke it. The other company replaced the shut off valve and filter in 20 mins. They also stated that pumps for our furnace (the most common oil furnace there is) are made in Elyria, outside of Cleveland, Ohio and $500.00 is an awful lot for an estimate. Following up on Monday with Hudson Heating, my mother was explained to repeatedly how the oil tank, shut off valve, oil filter and furnace all work together and because the oil filter was clearly in need of change, that explained why we would have no heat an hour after this company left our house. I called the next morning, introduced myself and attempted to ask a couple of questions, the manager/owner got on the phone and said "your mom called yesterday? I am going to tell you the same thing I told her and try not to get angry while doing it." He then explained to me repeatedly how the oil tank, shut off valve, oil filter and furnace all work together and because the oil filter was clearly in need of change, that explained why we would have no heat an hour after this company left our house. I told him after he was done that "I am going to try to not get angry during this conversation since he said it to me." I asked him about the quote of $500.00 and he said he could give it to me for $385.00. The quote changed from Monday evening with my mom of $500.00 to Tuesday morning with me to $385.00. I also asked him how long it typically takes for a $175.00 tuneup with 2 guys? He told me he cut us a deal and asked me if I wanted him to send a bill for $225.00 instead of the $175.00. He also stated that he has GPS on all of his trucks and they were at our home for 1hr 25mins, although I was at home and let the guys in and out of our house. After going round and round, I attempted to say I didn't appreciate as a customer the way I was being spoken to. The owner of this company told me directly, that he recommends I use the other company moving forward. I then asked if this is standard procedure when speaking with customers? I was asked what I want him to do. I told him that our family was unhappy with the service we received and the way I was being treated on the phone. He responded with saying he will not give any portion of money back and that he will take his chances with us in court. The owner of this company had no problem disrespecting, degrading and losing a repeat customer. We will be contacting the better business bureau as well. We will not use this company ever again as recommended by the owner of Hudson Heating and hope that this helps others from being mistreated, taken advantage of and talked down to like no customer should ever have to experience. read more
