The parking is spacious and takes you down a dirt hill path with great signage so that you understand you are going to the right location. There is one big gate entry and right now during the winter please be very careful as the hill to walk down is slippery and icy. I enjoyed it here as it wasn't muddy and there were a lot of other dogs allowing for a playful experience. It looks like there are some other walking paths that are not fenced which I didn't attempt but good to be aware of for folks with well behaved dogs who don't run away. Enjoy!

Dakota Woods is an all around good off-leash dog park. It's about 40 acres in size with half being wooded and the remainder a combination of mowed grass and some taller grass (there are no ponds or lakes to worry about). Paths cut through the woods that are great for walking with or without your furry companion. The only downside to this park is it's quite close to a landfill which can add a bit of an unpleasant aroma to the air. I've never found it to be that bad, but those with sensitive noses should take note. We've found the people and their dogs to be friendly. If you're looking for a spot to take your dog this is it!

We checked out the large dog park and my understanding is that there is a smaller one next door. Both parks contain agility courses should your dog enjoy that and it's also what makes this park unique. In addition, there is a large common space with a gazebo type shelter for owners to sit and free water for the doggies. Down the hill you will find two paths where one leads to water (don't worry dogs can't get in as there is a fence) and a giant uphill climb and the other is a more flat circular loop. I enjoyed all the wildlife, the greenery and the open space. My doggies enjoyed it too! Parking is excellent!

Luckily my husband jumped in the middle and pulled other dog off our dog but NOT without injury. Sad part is the owner of the dog that attacked didn't even own up until we called the cops and then put blame on us . Not mad at other dog, disappointed in the owner, that felt it was more important to place blame than own up I know dog parks are at risk parks, but if your kid hurts another kid and causes injury, you would file charges so whats the difference.

We parked near the boat launch and took the 1.5-mile loop to the waterfall, a beautiful, family-friendly walk with no complaints from the kids! The waterfall itself is stunning. We kicked off our shoes, dipped our feet in the cool water, and climbed around the rocks above the falls. There are more challenging hikes if you're feeling adventurous, and it's only about 10 minutes to great Hudson riverfront dining afterward. We left smiling and saying, "That was so fun maybe we should get an annual pass!
