I'm not sure a Huddle House is ever going to get 5-stars, but this one is close. HH is kind of like another take on the Waffle House chain. It's a diner with all day breakfast, counter seating, and pretty quick comfort food table service. The food and service was good. It is attached to a convenience store and the "clean enough" restrooms. The best part of this HH is the Tesla Superchargers in the parking lot. This is the only supercharger for a bunch of miles in either direction and a great place to charge your Tesla or compatible EV. Last year, on a road trip we recharged our Tesla, walked into the huddle house, thinking we'd have a meal and we were refused service. We were ignored, and the place was full and it was bizarre. I felt discriminated against. Now we pulled in to recharge at the Tesla super charging station today, And more than half the spots were taken by pick up trucks. Avoid this stop and area! read more

Stopped here for the tesla chargers and went in for a quick meal while my car charged. It was delicious! I got the MVP with the biscuits and gravy...they were soooo good! We shared a Southwestern bowl which came with a hot fresh biscuit and gobs of butter. The bowl was tasty and fresh off the grill. We ate here only because restaurants with better reviews weren't open. Let me start by saying a Waffle House it's not. I say that because we have eaten at several while traveling and always had decent food. Never five stars, but always taste and the establishments clean. Although we only ordered eggs and potatoes, neither were good. The eggs were ordered over medium but were served with runny whites and yolks. The fries were simply pathetic. As well as coming back a total of 3 times in less than 5 minutes to try and collect our payments without giving us much time to look over our bills and pay. We are not familiar with Huddle House, but spotted it as we were driving through. I would describe their menu and operation as a Denny's, except you seat yourself. Their motto is: Any Meal. Any Time. I'm always a fan of eating breakfast for dinner and a steak at 3am. We love diners so we thought this would be perfect for us. This place was packed. They only had 3 tables available when we arrived and no obvious signage to seat yourself, just someone hollering it out. We sat waiting on someone to take our drink order for a really, really long time. It was at least 15 minutes, and that person asked if we were ready to order, which we were. Our drinks came pretty quickly after that, but the wait on food was a while. This was expected since it was busy, but we ended up being there for almost an hour and a half, which was way longer than we had intended to be off the road. The quality of the food was a little hit or miss. I had ordered the Crispy Chicken Club for $8.19 which the menu stated comes with Applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, lettuce, pickle chips, tomato and Chipotle mayo on brioche bun with fries. I had asked for regular mayo as the only substitution and pickles on the side. She stated all the veggies were on the side, and I said that was great. What I actually got was one piece of lettuce with a smear of butter on it and a sad, soggy, mushy tomato slice. The chicken was a frozen patty I would expect from the value menu at a fast food chain. I felt I overpaid for this meal by at least $2. However, my husband's burger really hit the spot and fit with our expectations of a diner a lot more. He got the HuddleBurger with bacon and cheese on a sesame bun for $7.99 and felt this was a good deal for the price. The burgers are on the small size, but they do supplement by making them all doubles. The fries were advertised as lightly seasoned, which they were and they were pretty good. After we ordered I spotted a smaller, second menu advertising 10 different meals for $4.99. That's crazy cheap, so maybe this is more like a Waffle House? Desserts are the most reasonable in price that I've ever seen at a diner chain, all were in the $2-5 range. Unfortunately, we spent so much time here, we didn't have more to spend, so I didn't have a chance to sample them. Now that I know what to expect of this chain, I would say the visit averaged out to A-OK. I would try another location when travelling to take advantage of a special and some dessert! read more

Driving by and need to fill up on gas. We saw lots of cars parked outside so we thought it might be a good place to stop for dinner. This is kinda like ihop/Denny's type places. They serve breakfast all day. You can see the kitchen where they cook so that's a plus. But you can also see the filthy floors too. I had the grilled chicken salad and my hubby got the chili cheese. The boys ate the usual grilled cheese and cheeseburger. My salad was surprisingly good. Hubby ate up all his chili so it must be good too. their fries were cooked really well. Update: I sent a complaint to Huddle House Corporate office because the health violations could not go unchecked. The following day I got a voicemail message followed by 2 emails from a manager named Theresa asking if she could talk to me about my experience. I sent an email back to her thanking her for the contact but declining her invitation. My rationale was that if she was the manager (and spent anytime at all supervising her staff) she would already be aware of their shortcomings (and correct them) and it is not my place as a consumer to manage her restaurant. On a hunch, I checked the state's restaurant inspection reports for Taylor County and could find no inspection reports for 3 years on this location. No wonder they have such problems.
