I truly enjoy the rustic setup of the interior and you have a choice either eating inside or outside. The Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, so ask them what they enjoy to eat at Refuel because the menu has several options to choose from which I like. We were in for lunch, my best friend lives in Abbeville SC. Well we were thinking the same thing we both were craving burgers. My friend had the Julie's Burger with a side of Cucumber and Tomato Salad. I had the Roy's Burger with Fries! I must say Refuel is the King of Burgers now in Abbeville!! Hey we couldn't stop saying how great these two burgers were in between bites!! Oh and the Fries are fantastic as well, great seasoning and crispy, yummy!! Refuel easily earns the 5 Stars !!

My two meals at Refuel did not go very well. Last week, after waiting 20 minutes for my Chicken…read moresandwich in a mostly empty restaurant, it arrived and was very dry. My other dining companions mentioned their meal was very salty. When I informed the wait person about my hockey puck chicken patty, I was offered extra sauce and receive a "sorry". Last night, four of us went for the Monday night wing special. We arrived five minutes after they opened. There were only two other people in the dining area. After our drink order was placed, it started to go downhill. Drinks (mostly iced tea) took 10 minutes to arrive. A second couple arrived and sat behind us. We placed our orders, 3 were for wings and the other for a burger. 35 minutes have passed and the couple who arrived after us received their meal. Now we have been waiting almost 1 hour. One of the staff came over and told us due to the numerous takeout orders, they were behind. We found this strange because we were there minutes after they opened and the other couple had received their meal. After waiting 1 hour, we had enough and were standing up to leave when our meals arrived. The orders were all mixed up and 3 sides were missing. In my last visit, the Mac and Cheese was very good. On this visit, they were cold with cheese shreds sitting on top. They were taken back to the kitchen and microwaved. This turned them into a complete, uneatable pile of mush with a foul-tasting cheese oil slick on top. The owner came over and once again, we heard "sorry" and he used the take-out orders as the excuse. We spoke to the server and told her we wanted them to comp the meals. Off she went to speak with the owner. During this time, the couple sitting behind us were talking and he mentioned he has had his sandwich many times from many places and this one was the worse one he had ever had. The manager came over again and offered to buy us all desert. We thought at least he was trying but when we tried to order any of the 4 different types of cheese cake they offer, we were informed they had been out of them for 3 days. She came back and said we would receive a 15% discount which was an insult due to the food and service. I asked to see the manager again and I talked him into a 50% discount after hearing "sorry" about 8 times and the take-out excuse again. This is the first restaurant I have ever had to barter with the owner over lousy meals. From other reviews, I am glad many other people have had a positive experience, but after giving them a second chance, none of us will be going back.
