Recent Visit: Food: I had the absolute worst experience here. My omelette was extremely drenched in oil. And I still feel like I'm not explaining it quite enough on how much oil it had. I gathered a couple of napkins from the table and dabbed my omelette to soak up the oil but, my efforts were futile. I repeated this process several times. Approximately 15 times to be exact and it was still extremely oily. And it wasn't grease. It was oil. It was absolutely and undeniably none edible. Service: not bad, but not great. We walked in, sat down and the waitress was across the room conversing with another customer, and it took her a few minutes to come and assist us. Ambiance: lonely, and depressing. A Year Ago: My Husband and I came in to have breakfast, and it took the waitress literally, 48 minutes to take our order. We just walked out. This used to be our favorite spot for Brunch and or Breakfast. Not sure how this places is still in business. read more

I have gone here 3-4 times at different times of the year, visiting the city or now living in the city and I've never had a great experience. Every time I've gone, the place has been dirty, the servers never are attentive like today they just told me to sit wherever so I had to find a clean table and then I had to wait to get a menu. It took five minutes for somebody which I had to ask to get a menu and I sat there for five minutes and nobody ever came to ask if I wanted something to drink or if I was ready to order in the past when I have a order, it has taken a extraordinary overtime for the servers and the Cook to have anything done. It usually takes an hour to an hour and a half to be served so I'm done. I'm sorry to say most restaurants in this area are really good and very attentive. When we walked in the place needed tables cleaned and wiped down, the floors looked like they haven't been swept in a week. Sit down and ordered and when they brought our food I asked for sugar for my grits and they brought artificial sweetener so I asked do you have any real sugar, was told no we are out right now, however I saw some on another table so I got some from there. Ordered an omelet with well done bacon, onions, bell peppers & cheese w/Hash browns, biscuit & gravy on the side. I received an omelet with lots of onions, bell peppers, 4 slices of cheese that wasn't even melted & NO bacon, no Hash browns, biscuit with gravy on top of it, 2 slices of toast! Sent it back, but was still wrong. I was charged extra & separately for the onions & bell peppers! I usually go there every 3 months & every time there has been a different cook & waitress. To start, the bathroom was disgusting which was my first sign i should've just left. One time they had no ice, another day I walk in and the place is maybe half full, they say Sit Wherever You Want but every empty table is still full of empty dishes. So we say this and stand there for a minute and the girls each tell each other to clean is a table finally a guy comes out from the back and busses one table. And we're sitting there noticing all the waitresses and guys behind the counter just talking and leaning and we're wondering why no one busses the tables. We left. And the last time I just went the place looked empty 4 employees were outside smoking. I walk up to the door and the sign says cash only. both times I ordered online and both times my orders were only half there. my latest order is laughable. The crispy hash browns were almost $4 and the stuffed hash browns were almost $12. add tax, fees, delivery charges, tipping the driver etc I will never eat here again and I will make sure I let everyone I know to avoid this place too. Very typical greasy spoon food here. If you are expecting Michelin stars, keep driving. However, for a quick bite of comfort food that is reasonably-priced, this is a pretty good option. Usually, I get biscuits and gravy. The wait staff is generally attentive. The tables are usually pretty dirty though. If you can arrive between rushes, it isn't bad at all. The bathrooms have been consistently clean, which is nice since it says a lot about a restaurant. With the lack of options in Elk City, this is the only place for breakfast all day. It may even be the only 24-hour restaurant for a hundred miles, as the one 24 hour restaurant in Weatherford is disgusting. Keep your standards low on this one. It's decent grub for a 24-hour diner. Oh, and the place usually smells like syrup and bacon. read more

Half the restaurant was closed when we arrived at about 8 pm. Our food came quickly, and the waffles and eggs were well cooked. One order was completely incorrect, with a different menu item delivered. The incorrect item, a chicken sandwich, was well prepared. The ham steak was very salty and seemed slightly over cooked. We walked in the door at 2:34 p.m. Sunday October 10th and the waitress yelled, "get out we are full and we are not using half of our restaurant." That was it, she didn't say please wait outside or could you come back or would you like to order online and take it to go. I have NEVER experienced something like that. After a long road trip, my family and I decided to make a little dinner stop at this restaurant. We were welcomed by a well-mannered waiter who was kind in both taking our orders and continually checking up on us. The atmosphere of the restaurant was most certainly quiet and homely. Although there weren't many guests, the service was still wonderful. When we finally got out food, after a short wait, all the orders were correct and they had arrived hot. All of us enjoyed our meals and we would definitely return to the Huddle House if it was located closer to us. The waiter was, again, so wonderful as he checked on us throughout the meal and frequently refilled our drinks. I would definitely recommend this place for others, in addition to returning back here ourselves. read more

Excellent service at this outstanding and delicious establishment. Restaurant was full of patrons, we were seated promptly by Rochelle who invited us to our table for our party of 5 adults and our two year old granddaughter she brought her a high chair. Our waitress Ruth came quickly and brought her some crayons and paper and took our drink orders. I had the grilled chicken salad and also hot shrimp & chicken and fry basket that I ordered as an appetizer. My daughter, husband and brother-in-law had smothered loaded biscuits with choice of bacon or sausage or one of each. They said it was perfectly seasoned. My sister-in-law had a western bowl that had home potatoes and was impressed with it gladly. Willow, the toddler had scrambled eggs, side of grits, toast and juice. She ate all of her food so we know she appreciated and approved the taste. Excellent customer service from Ruth. She came and refilled our drinks and brought us some lemon and honey for our hot tea. What a terrible experience. First, I went to place a to go order. Walked in and 3 employees were sitting at a table. I was not acknowledged. There were 2 tables of guests waiting for their order. After a time, one of the employees acknowledged me. I advised her that I needed to place an order to go. She said " well do you need a menu?" I answered please! She took my order and asked if I wanted lettuce, cheese & tomatoes on my burger, again I said yes please. The cook was obviously new as he handed me my burger in a styrofoam box with no lettuce, tomato. A refrigeration repair was working over the grill with greasy link dropping off the ceiling. I asked I would like a bag, condiments and napkins. When he turned to go back to the grill, I asked if I could have the drink I ordered. One of the employees got up and got it. I have eaten here several times. I've had either breakfast or lunch. I have eaten groups or by myself. Service is always off the charts. Everyone is warm and friendly. I hate to ask for substitutions, but last time I switched eggs for hash browns. The food is excellent quality the place is always clean. Service and feed is very speedy. The past FOUR times my wife and I went there, they were closed. Prior to the pandemic, we tried on three different occasions, all at night around 9:00 pm. Sign on the door said closed for steam cleaning. The third time we even called before making the 30 drive, and were told they would be open. Then tonight, post pandemic, we decided to try again. We arrived at 8:45 pm, walked in and were told they were closed. They said they lock the doors at 8:15 because management makes them. To me, if my restaurant advertises that we're open until 9:00, I'm seating guests until then. Not locking the doors at 8:15! We stopped in the Huddle House at 7:20 pm. There was only one other table occupied. Our waiter gave us menus and took our order for drinks. It took quite a while to get the drinks, my husband ordered unsweetened tea and he received sweetened. He delivered them then turned around and walked off. I thought he was going to get sweetener and creamer for me since I had ordered coffee. Several minutes later I had to get up and tell him it was the wrong drink and ask for creamer and sugar. He went and got me the sugar but not the creamer then again walked off without taking our order . This guy was in no hurry and obviously didn't want to be there. We were in a hurry so we're losing patience by this time.. He finally came back after I asked him if he was going to take our order and took our order. Then the wait really began. About ten minutes later, he came back to tell us the seasonal fruit wasn't available: He didn't suggest anything so we said okay. We continued to wait and wait. Two more tables worth of people came in. . One of those tables was served before us. We continued to wait. I noticed that we couldn't hear anything cooking but the cook was stacking dishes. My husband finally got up to ask what was taking so long. All of a sudden two order tickets were placed on the clip in front of the cook. Eventually, we got food but only one of the three of us got the right order. We were hungry and furious. When I complained, we were told the waiter was the owners son and they couldn't do anything.
