Oh Huck's...easily my favorite spot we visited on Main Street in downtown Blue Ridge! A true "General Store" from entry to exit! Huck's offers a wide variety of items from gifts, shirts, hats, toys, soaps, tchotchkes, souvenirs and most importantly candy! But not just your average candy, the type of candy you can only find in a spot like this! You can scoop up the candy in pieces or by the pound, or grab you some of the specialty candy they have boxed on the shelves. Either way, get some candy and feel like a kid again! We ended up at Huck's twice during our three day trip. The first haul was candy, shirts and a hat. Second was for more candy, another shirt and a magnet. Both trips were successful! Outside of all the goodies, the service was absolutely stellar here! Overall, Huck's is legit and a spot we will certainly visit again! read more

We have been to Huck's several times since January 2021 and each time we are treated to great customer service, wide selection of items to peruse, and a quaint store ambience. We highly recommend the candy selection as it is wide ranging and unique. The toy selection in the back of the store is unique, wide and fun for all ages. Please remember to read signs as they clearly state a $5 minimum for credit/debit card purchases, in doing so you make the personnel working's job easier, lighten the length of the line and expedite your time perusing the store and other venues in downtown Blue Ridge. Cute little shop with something for everyone. I found my obligatory touristy t-shirt in here, well made with many designs to choose from. Lots of old fashioned candy and canned jams, relish, salsa, and pickled goodness. I bought the traditional dip salsa and it was delicious with a lot of heat. There are also books, home decor, home made soaps, and toys. Enough interesting play gadgets to make my son happy. The employees were friendly and helpful. Great general store with most things local from jams, sauces, relish to soaps, bath bombs, games, candies, and trinkets! It is such a cute place to purchase souvenirs right on Main St downtown Blue Ridge. We're visiting from Florida and learned that the owners are from Orlando... it makes since why they have Gator and Seminole ceramic Christmas ornaments, and of course Georgia once too... very fun! They offer unique assortment of goodies such as the habanero honey mustard... mmm I can't wait to try this yes I'm a huge fan of spicy! We also loaded up on natural soaps for $4 for a large bar. Not a shopper's best friend --- when , despite years and years of faithful patronage to this establishment, we were all of a sudden and rudely informed today that bringing our small poodle and chihuahua inside was strictly prohibited. My wife and I were in the process of selecting T-shirt souvenirs for our children; when this citified dude came out to save the day by running us out because we had 2 small dogs in tow. Wow, so nice way to find there is still One place on the strip that is Not up to speed with the times. This is a very cute general store with a lot to offer tourists. Everything from candy to T shirts to glassware is there. You can even find some bigfoot and alien merchandise. It's very touristy, but so is Blue Ridge. If you need to get souvenirs for family this is the perfect place to get something small and cheap. read more

Huck's truly is a little gem hidden on the Historic Blue ridge strip. They have lots and lots of awesome little knick knacks and tasty treats to choose from. The best part is make sure and ask for or run into Bret. He will make your experience that much better!!!! We had a blast chatting with Bret and he even passed along some great tips that made our experience while in the area that much more epic!!! If you pass this place up and miss out on a visit with Bret than you truly missed out. Cool little store. Great for kids and moms. The people make the place. Not only do they have a cool variety of items to choose from. And prepared cooking packets. They also have honest salt of the earth people. Karrie and Ian found me on Facebook then called me almost as I was pulling up to my cabin. Super cool place! A dream come true for kids! As you walk in there are buckets of candy you but by the lb. They have all sorts of cool candy and bottled drinks. Ok, the good: They had a lot of stuff you wouldn't find elsewhere. In fact, they had Mystical Fire packets that change the color of flames in a campfire. I had just visited three different stores literally the night before looking for these, gave up on finding them, and then bam, they're here. They also had a wide variety of cool novelty stuff. The bad: You couldn't buy any of the stuff, as it's all so severely overpriced. Paying $6.99 a lb for bulk candy is pretty normal, especially in a tourist area, but $2.25 for a small bottle of soda is crazy. Or $2.95 for a candy bar. All in all, they were friendly, and they have cool stuff. But you're not leaving here with a bunch of stuff unless you leave with a lot less money. read more

definitely a very memorable general store in small town america. we came here on a sunday evening and the whole town was pretty much shut down, but it was such a wonderful sight to see this little gem was still open. they have SO MUCH CANDY! lol. and some very very interesting products like BACON TOOTHPICK, BBQ POTATO CHOCOLATE, BEEF JERKY FLAVOR CHOCOLATE, just to name a few. the guy that was there last sunday was absolutely wonderful. he was very nice and you can tell he is very proud of this town. i luv it! read more

SOMETHING FOR THE KIDDIES! , Hucks is a store that was really designed for kids but was nice enough to throw in a few tokens for adults. They have a vast selection of candies, old school and current as well as toys, games puzzles and books. For the adults, they have homemade natural soaps, novelty candy, (hot sauce chocolate bar, bacon flavored lollipops), signs, souvenir tees and other odds and ends. When visiting this shop, you must walk outside to the large rear balcony which is completely covered and has chairs for sitting. It is a great place to cool off, take a shopping break or catch a glimpse of a train passing by. Maybe you could by a treat and enjoy it on the balcony. Now, there's an idea! read more

They had all of my favorite childhood candies. I think I spent at least $20 on candy alone, but I came away with a good haul: abbazabbas, zotz, giant rat gummies, candy cigs, IBC root beer barrels, bit-o-honey, big hunks, charleston chews, red licorice salt water taffy, those old time super thin taffy strips, zagnut, more zotz... I felt like I was standing in front of he ice cream truck but this time I just said give me one of each. They also have a great selection of old kids toys, including Melissa and Doug stuff and Fischer Price. Remember those caps that had a pretty good blast? They have those too. Yes! This is the place! We live in Blue Ridge, and our small grandchildren visit often, and they all three LOVE Huck's. The candy is always fun, but the toys and craft things are the best....last visit we had one grandson doing his tricks from Huck's Magic Trick Treasury. Little Juliette was busy with some of the fashion doll stuff from Klutz. They always find great stuff, and they've all been there dozens of times. We limit them to two things plus the candy--they prefer it to Toys R Us!! And we love the staff. Say hello to Brett, Candace, Terri, and all the others. They're ALL super nice and helpful.
