Out of order women's room, only one functional toilet in the men's room, and the whole restroom smelled of old urine. It was so disgusting I walked in and immediately turned around and left. This was our first stop after 4 hours on the road, and I would've rather peed my pants in the car than used the bathroom there. Never stopping here again!

Sandy even provided personal transportation into Terre Haute to pick up a rental car so we could continue on our way! Our experience on this day renewed our faith in humanity and the kindness of the human spirit. We made it to the base with 30 minutes to spare and were able to enjoy seeing my daughter graduate! I will definitely be stopping at exit 136 next time I am traveling through Illinois!

So there I was, an out-of-town woman passing through Effingham, IL, on a business trip using my…read morepersonal vehicle. My car broke down at midnight. I called L & C, and the man who answered said that he'll take care of me first thing in the morning. I got a tow to them. And, first thing in the morning, they took care of me. I was allowed into the shop to watch the tech hoist my car and make a diagnosis. My cats roaming around the car didn't like it, but I sure as sugar cookies did (because I'm more curious). I needed a whole new drive shaft, and the tech hunted for one while I waited in the lobby. I agreed to letting them order a used part, and I agreed to let them repair one other issue they identified. They let me leave my car with them for the week, because I still had a deadline to get to my business destination. I picked it up five days later with no issue. It's been over a year since the repair. My car has run just fine ever since. Verdict: These guys care about taking care of people. Thank you.

In specific a woman named Erica, she is extremely pleasant to talk to and an amazing character. She seems to genuinely care about her patrons and will do just about anything to make sure people at this stop are protected and sent off on the right foot. Would highly recommend especially if Erica is working the counter. There is also a man there who is a bit quiet, but always polite. He's always willing to step up when he's needed if the situation ever arises. He seems very capable and willing to help. Overall would rate a 10/10! Would and do go there regularly.
