Great food that tastes just like the original Chinese dishes.

Great food - if you look for an authentic restaurant that serves food like they do in China - go here you won't be disappointed. Doesn't look special from the outside but is busy and the real Chinese experience when you go in. Yelp helped us find this place and we would definitely go there again next time we are in Milano.

Very nice restaurant. Good prices, good service, authentic chinese good. Most of the clients are actually chinese people... Very tasty food

poor excuse for roast duck...super dried + fried to death

I REALLY don't understand why this place has great reviews. Honestly, my mind is blown... into millions of tiny little pieces of soup dumplings that ARE NOT actually soup dumplings because that's what they serve at Hua Cheng. I ordered the xiao long bao, roast duck and water. The ONLY authentic thing served was water and they could not have possibly messed that up since it was a bottle of mineral water. The xiao long bao was somewhat (that's me being generous) juicy but there was NO soup on the inside. It was basically just a sub-par dumpling that you could have gotten at a street cart. The roast duck was NOT roasted, but rather deep fried, or perhaps they reheated it so much in the oven that it seemed deep fried. Also, the roast duck was not served with rice. Please tell me what Chinese restaurant has roast duck on the menu and is not served with rice? Major face palm moment. It was the STRANGEST experience since the restaurant was fully packed and there was a line outside as well. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND THE HYPE. Don't even get me started about the quality of the food- I was looking around at the dishes that others ordered around me and all of the sauces looked watered down and bland. Someone ordered fried rice and it literally looked like white rice gently tossed with canned peas, carrots and spam. The soup noodle portions looked big though-- that's the only plus I can think of. Do yourself a favor and do not go here. I'm a native Chinese New Yorker so without sounding too narcissistic, I know authentic Chinese food, and I can confidently say that Hua Cheng does not serve authentic Chinese food.

Wonton soup with onions and ginger. Awesome

Service was extremely straightforward. They waste no time getting an order. Don't expect them to read your emotions. The only thing that matters is satisfying your palate. These guys do a great job at that. The portions were just right, the price was extremely affordable almost to the point of a steal. I didn't expect having a good Chinese fix in Italy. My last experience with an oriental cuisine and Italy went poorly. Do yourself a favor and get your Chinese food fix on here!

Authentic Chinese food at a great price. What more can you ask for? One star reduced for seating arrant issues and pushy wait staff

We discovered this restaurant as its close to duomo area and it's on the way to another Chinese restaurant. It looks quite small outside but inside is huge! It opens at 7 pm but we we got in like 15 min earlier, no problem. The reason we decided to try is because on the menu we saw dry hotpot dishes besides the Japanese dish and other Chinese ones. Any restaurant knows how to cook dry hotpot dishes know how to cook real Chinese food. So we go in, it took us a while to walk to our table, it was really huge. The tables are really clean and tidy. You can order prefixed 18.8 per person menu order as much as you want , but cannot leave any food otherwise receive a fine. Or you can order from another menu separately, which has some authentic dishes not on the prefixed ones. All the four dishes (spicy beef soup, vege fried rice, kungpao chicken, and dry hotpot veges ) are really really good, maybe spicy beef soup can be improved a little bit though as the complications of spices are not so comprehensive. We were surprised to taste authentic Chinese Sichuan food. Current review for this place is not so good I think maybe due to Japanese dishes and people who are not used to real Chinese food, but if you are looking for real Chinese food, this is the one to go. I did not give five stars because the waiter seems to be tired and no smile and just stare at you while eating .... Awkward ...

The service was fast and frequent checkups. Now, the food is very authentic and tasty. Since I was by myself, I was only able to try two entrees. First is pork in garlic sauce, my standard benchmark dish to measure a restaurant, and it was very good and spicy. The other dish is sauté beef with ginger and leek and again, it was outstanding in authenticity and taste. Why not 5 stars? Well, I was charged 2 euros for a bowl of rice as the entrees don't come with rice. This is akin to charging extra for sugar when one orders espresso!
