It's a great place to rent vehicles from. Good, transparent pricing, especially for motorcycles and scooters. It is a taxi away from the Cruise Ship port, but the prices you get can be worth it and the place is professionally run. Ensure you have your PHYSICAL license with you, otherwise, they will not let you rent cars or motorcycles. We rented a last minute sedan and the place was easy to find, ok price, and a clean car. The workers were helpful and explained everything in English. The person who got our car was very personable and made sure everything was ok. There is a hold on your card, but it is returned pretty quickly after your car return. A lot of vendors were trying to overcharge us when we were getting on the ferry from playa del Carmen to Cozumel but I saw a few TikToks that said they rent a car/scooter from HTL rentals for $55. So that's what we did! They did need a copy of our drivers license and there was a safety deposit of $250. The total came out to $75 - $55 for a manual transmission which includes liability insurance and they had an optional collision insurance for $20 so we got that to be safe. The jeep was in fair condition, no ac or radio but we didn't need it anyways. We had to return it with tank full but that's pretty standard. read more

We were super impressed with how easy it was to reserve a vehicle in WhatsApp, how quickly they delivered it to our hotel, the reasonable prices, and the excellent customer service. We had originally requested a standard buggy but when that had issues they swapped it with an automatic buggy without raising the price. The car was delivered within half an hour and Juan was friendly and personable. He took time to get to know us, explained the insurance, and encouraged us to take a look around the car. From the website it seemed like we would have the rental for that price for 24 hours but he arranged a pick up on the evening. We only needed it that long and didn't want to be responsible for having it overnight which worked for us and I didn't get the impression it would have been an issue if we had asked to keep it longer. Juan was as timely about picking up the car as he had been dropping it off. The car itself was just fine. It was a bit older and had some dings but we weren't needing anything fancy for our loop around the island. We would definitely recommend them to others and use them again in the future. read more

We decided to rent a buggy on the spur of the moment which we are glad we did. It ended up being the best way to explore the island. We could have rented scooters but after passing many a windswept tourist trying to keep up in an 80 km/hr road it convinced us we made the right choice. HTL easily explained everything. Their prices are as posted (and even better if you reserve on line). The insurance adder is not as daunting is you may think, they offer the minimum required and it's reasonable. Bring cash if you visit the ruins and a couple of hotel towels if you stop at a beach. Oh, and don't drive on the bike path, don't be that tourist. read more

I had the best high-stress experience at HTL. My party rented three jeeps from them while cruising with Carnival. We only had a few hours to explore the island. The staff at HTL were very professional and helpful. One of our party got lost and it looked like we were going to miss our ship. HTL went above and beyond to help us get to our ship on time. Our overall experience was positive with HTN rentals. The only negative was the hotel and the company gave us two different prices, so we felt like they were taking advantage of us. The location was convenient to the main area in town. They delivered our car to the hotel and we returned it to the office in town. The prices were higher than another company down the block, but we had good service. We rented one Jeep, but it ended up not starting when we drove halfway around the island. We had no service, but thankfully a local called the company for us and they brought us a nicer Jeep to replace it in one hour. They took credit cards, which helped since we were low on cash. We really enjoyed the Jeep we rented and driving around Cozumel. I highly recommend renting a car and exploring. read more

We received confirmation and a reservation via what's app for a jeep rental price etc. we arrived on time to pick it up. when we arrived to the store they changed the price increasing it by $10 and also told us we could only have it for 6 hours not 24 hours . They said our only choice was to rent a compact car for the same price of the jeep. Then they required us to wart masks even tough the Governor of Quintana Roo lifted mask restrictions for all weeks ago. They dropped off a jeep and a buggy right at our front door......even picked it up when we couldn't figure out how to get to them during the Ironman Triathalon. Because of the street closures we also couldn't get to a gas station and they charged us a very conservative and fair price for what it would take to top up the gas. We rented a scooter for one day while on a visit in July 2020. The gentleman delivered the scooter to our hotel for a convenient experience. All the paperwork was completed and explained with all pricing shown up front, no hidden fees. Pricing was reasonable and all equipment provided. The equipment was in good condition and we enjoyed the rental. The return of the scooter was fast and convenient. Rented a "jeep" to run around the island. Apparently, they ran somewhere real quick to steel this one for us. Seats didn't work, seatbelts.. nope. Speedometer also a fail. Radio flopping in the dash and no power. Back seat was loose and the girls thought they would fall out at every move. Tires were bald and the canvass roof had to held on at speed. Then the glove compartment fell out and was handed to the backseat passengers. Brakes were very soft. The jeep showed up with nearly zero gas. I've been going to Cozumel for decades and this is the worst vehicle I've ever been given. They were very nice, but that doesn't make up for such crap products. HTL delivered exactly what they promised! They picked us up across from the airport then we followed them to their office. Within 20 minutes we had our car which was in excellent condition, clean and ran like a top the entire 3 weeks we had it. The employees were always helpful and a HUGE bonus was the parking lot made available to us while we visited downtown. Saved us a ton of headaches and we will definitely be using them again when we come back in January! They rented us a completely reliable and safe vehicle for only $40 a day for 3 weeks! When we come back in mid January we will be visiting the office so I hope they remember me and give me the same great deal. We will be needing a car for at least 2 full months. I was really rude when I came in. It was a really long day of travel and 2 drivers didn't show up to pick us up. By the time we got to Cozumel we were exhausted and starving. We had a lot of luggage and dragging all of it to the office was too much in 98 degree weather. GET A CAB. It's not far but it's worth it. I didn't understand the deposit requirement, and it was a thing. But in the end it was a great experience. They were honest and patient. Highly recommend. I'm a multiple return customer of HTL. Over the past few years I go to Cozumel every 3-4 months. I just finished renting a motor scooter for 15 days. In years past I had rented from a couple of other rental companies. But, my last three trips I will only go to HTL. HTL by far has the best scooters on Cozumel. They are all very new and in top condition. One important thing to look at with scooter rentals is if the tires have enough tread on them. HTL clearly maintains their equipment. The service from Luis the manager and his team is always outstanding. They are friendly and helpful and work hard to earn your business. I highly recommend them. And, I'll probably be going back at the end of May or early June and will ask them to have a scooter ready for me when I arrive. read more
