I found Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) on Google and its been an amazing experience. They are very respectful and understand the trials of a military veteran in regards to the time consuming process of applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) resources and services. I was able to get some emergency food, clean clothes, socks, hygiene products as well as opportunity to work gigs to make money through Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) non-profit's huge list of supporters. I feel blessed to have stumbled on this non-profit that really does what they say to change the narrative of how veterans are being treated in this country. Unfortunately, today I felt the need to review this business due to the trauma my son has been facing. My son attended this center for less than 8 months. In which two major head injuries occurred (see photo). One hematoma on the forehead which has left him with permanent muscle tear and is visible when he cries or laughs real big. Second injury was staples on his head because they allowed another child to hit my son with a very heavy plastic toy that gashed my son's head pretty deep. This is not ALL staff but certainly some young ones who clearly are not meant to be in The field to care for children. Sadly also management not being more proactive to make sure teachers are more aware of the children's surroundings. These are only 2 incidents that I felt justifiable enough never to return. There were other incidents of my child constantly being bitten. My reason for writing this is because the staples incident occurred 4/4/2025 and today my son had a complete meltdown scared to return to a new daycare... still naming the child from kindercare who hurt him. I'm not blaming the child I'm blaming management for having people who don't care and for not being more involved in the classroom. When my husband returned the following Monday to retrieve our sons belongings the staff didn't even bat an eye and that's very sad to hear. The reviews you see here are from management office pushing to get reviews from both parents and staff. They aren't real reviews. I only know this because I was one of the parents who received those request in November/December. Due to the biting incidents it took me awhile to review. But after the hematoma I removed it. All bad reviews seem to have been deleted. I hope they do better... for the children's safety and for the parents who have to work and shouldn't have to worry about their children's safety.

The Power of You Teens is unquestionably the latter. I have had the extraordinary privilege of knowing Felicia Gibson-Jaycox, the founder of this incredible organization, for over 25 years. Long before The Power of You Teens had a name, a mission statement, or a single program, I knew who Felicia was at her core: a woman with a heart for service, a gift for lifting others, and a vision for what was possible. I was there at her very first Empowerment Experience, watching something beautiful take root. To see what has grown from that seed is nothing short of miraculous. Felicia has always been a phenomenal human being, stunning inside and out, radiant in spirit, and relentless in her desire to give back. She left the world of television not because she lost her passion, but because she found a bigger one. And the girls who walk through the doors of The Power of You Teens are the living proof of what happens when purpose meets action. Now, more than two decades later, I am no longer just a witness to her mission. I am a grateful mother who enrolled her 11-year-old daughter in it. And I want to be clear: we travel from Long Island to attend these events. Every single time, it is worth every mile. My daughter didn't just make a vision board that day. She began to see herself differently. That is not a small thing. That is everything. At the Love Starts With Me Valentine's Day Self-Love Experience, the atmosphere was equally transformative: warm, joyful, affirming, and alive. Girls laughing. Girls connecting. Girls being seen, celebrated, and reminded of their worth. My daughter came home standing a little taller and speaking a little bolder. And I sat in that space as a mom feeling something I didn't even know I had been searching for: community. Here is something I carry with me as a mother. My daughter doesn't always see girls who look like her where we live. That matters more than people sometimes understand. Walking into a room full of beautiful Black and brown girls, girls who share her experiences, her heritage, her brilliance, watching her face open up with recognition and belonging is a gift I cannot put a price on. The Power of You Teens gives her that, every single time. This organization is doing the sacred, essential work of ensuring that girls of color are seen, supported, and prepared, not just to survive, but to thrive. To be confident, college bound, and career ready. To be the leaders this world is waiting for. They had a fantastic time building and making new friends. Ms. Felicia (the founder and organizer) and her team were welcoming and created a positive environment for the girls to interact, learn, and enjoy. I was in the hallway and overheard the girls singing, dancing, and engaging with one another. I highly recommend this organization for parents who want their girls to be part of a positive environment--signed, Thankful Dad!

My group was assigned to the pasta station. It was pretty straightforward and simple. The CFB employees were helpful and very nice. Everything was easygoing, and they made sure we completed everything on time. It's honestly always been a good experience every time I've come here. The work that they do is very inspiring. I am grateful to have some small part in helping with the food insecurity in NJ. I would definitely recommend volunteering here.

He said I had to move to the right line and go all the way back to the end. I tried talking to the guy inside the building, showed them that I was first on their check-in list, tried explaining it to John, but they didn't care. They saw me waiting in the left line since I arrived, but nobody told me anything until it was almost my turn.

She really cares about getting the resources the residents need. Also if you donate what they need , you are donating directly to the people who need the items. Since the start of the Pandemic raising food prices and then the tariff increases I can no longer…read morestretch my SSDI to last and even with SNAP benefits my adult Son who is unemployed and dependent on me to eat -we have been going without food for up to a two-week stretch at the end of every month while we await the new months SNAP benefit . Literally forced into starvation because everything is too expensive now. There was no where to turn for real food help. I'm disabled, permanently wheelchair bound since 2010 when my last total hip replacement cup completely dissolved leaving the rest of the hardware free floating creating a false step. After a few falls I was put in a motorized wheelchair. Because I'm still 59, I don't qualify for meals on wheels or other food assistance. I prayed and prayed and after an extensive internet search found Alice Crespo and her Assistant Stephanie of Helping Hands for the Disabled of New York. I left voicemail pleading for help and letting her know I'd had a recent stroke in April of 2025 when my already failed total hip replacement dislocated causing my limbs to go dead weight and filled with edema . We really needed help. I couldn't believe it the very next day, both Alice and Stephanie, came straight over in an uber to my front door with so many bags of food. Alice and Stephanie are the hearts and souls that make Helping Hands for the disabled a truly vital resource that is a godsend in these days and times. They go out of their way and never break a promise they've made. I am truly blessed to have been connected with her organization. I can hon say, "I love them dearly " and so will you!!

Since there is nobody in the office, there is nobody for me to contact. All letters and emails have gone unanswered. They had the nerve to mail me recently to make a year end donation. I wrote and demanded that they remove my name from all mailing lists and cease to charge my credit card every month. Every month since June they have found a way to charge my credit card even though a Merchant block has been placed. Thankfully, American Express has handled the dispute every month and they have credited my account.
