They start with a very…read morethorough 3-hour assessment, after which they're able to tell you about your kid's strengths and weaknesses in great detail. At $150 (or more or less depending on the promotion), I think the assessment itself is worth doing even if you don't end up purchasing their tutor services. After reviewing results, they sell you an intimidating package. I say intimidating because at $75/hour for 1-on-1 tutoring, a 60-80 hour plan becomes a very significant expenditure, but if like me you know your kid needs it then it's worth it. They typically will recommend coming at least twice a week to start, and there's a detailed lesson plan with multiple workbooks for vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing (for English, but they also have math tutoring). One thing I really like are the monthly check-ins where the center director Mona shares exactly what the kid is working on, how much progress, and upcoming lessons. They're also very flexible and accommodating regarding schedule changes, your concerns about the direction of learning or progress, etc. I feel like it's pricey but you do get what you paid for, and actually the rate is reasonable considering it's private tutoring. After the initial package runs out, you'll be able to purchase hours at a little more discount. Anyway, given my son's condition we'll probably be with the center as long as he has homework to do.

The owner/founder gave us a lovely "live" welcome/introduction before their first lessons, and I really enjoyed speaking with him. He clearly has a passion to share the "trade" of coding, which I think is so important. Accessible programs that empower young people - particularly those with ASD or other forms of neurodivergence, like my kids - to build confidence and learn a marketable skill for future employment, that they love?? I think it's something our society desperately needs! The instructors are excellent. Very personable, patient, and knowledgeable. My kids learn a lot and enjoy their lessons very much. They feel a great sense of achievement and they're on cloud nine when they sign off! The web app / tools / videoconferencing are extremely user-friendly and well-designed. I appreciate their services and have recommended them to friends....and now, fellow Yelpers. :)

The fact that all services are provided in-home as well is a wonderful business model which really helps children achieve success. I highly recommend the In Home Tutor.

We found Brittany from craigslist when we need someone to tutor our son to get him prepared for that second test. Ms. Brittany did a fantastic job! She has all those right materials and she knows how to get the boy engaged by making teaching a fun experience. Her professional background and experience makes her a very experienced teacher. She is very punctual and she is very efficient too. She utilizes every minute in the session. My boy was able to learn very fast and improved a lot in two weeks. We took him for the second try and he passed! Without Brittany's help, it would be very struggling for him. Now Brittany will contintue to work with my son on a regualr basis just to make sure that he can keep improving his reading skill and get fully prepared before new school starts. We are EXTREMELY HAPPY with her! Highy recommend!

I attended ACE for their after school program from 1st grade all the way to the 4th grade. When I first attended ACE, the owner was Kevin and Mrs. Howard ran the learning center. A few years later, Mrs. Bang took over as owner and ran the place. Currently she is still the owner and running the place. For the after school program, they offer free pick up service from both Ardenwood Elementary & Forest Park Elementary Schools. They can also do Warwick Elementary if need be, however most of their business comes from Ardenwood & Forest Park Elementary Schools. After they pick you up from school, you would first have homework hour, which consisted of you doing your school homework while getting assistance from a teacher whenever you needed help. After an hour, it would become snack time and you would get a little snack to eat. Most of the snacks came from Costco. Then after snack time, it would be learning time based on the curriculum they offered and based on your grade level. The after school program is from when the school ends to about 6 PM. I've also used this place for private tutoring, and summer courses to help me improve. It was alright, somewhat helpful. I've had the following teachers here: Mrs. A (Now works as a teacher for Fremont Unified School District). Mr. Fitzpatrick (OK) Mr. Philip (Second best teacher there!) Mr. Ray (EWWW) Mr. Lawrence (Best teacher there!) Mr. Mark (Awesome guy, pretty good). Mrs. Bang's daughter, forgot her name, was nice and helpful. Got tutored by her over the summer as well. There are a few other teachers, however I don't recall their names. At the time, the front desk assistant was Carlos, and he was super friendly and helpful, one of the best staff there. I liked him! Visit their website for more details on their programs and offerings: http://www.ace-afterschool.com/ Owner is Song Bang. She'll most likely be the one to answer the phone if you call. ACE is an alright place to send your child, my experience was okay, I mean it wasn't the best but you know, there were some great teachers and it was just okay. 3 stars.

Teacher actually has good reputation because my daughter said she has some classmates come from Stockton! She got a 2380 in the real test (her diagnostic test was only 1940, after the test, her general counselor analyzed what were her weaknesses so she could really work on those parts). Class management was satisfying, teacher assistant reported to us how well she was doing, so we could keep tracking her progress. Later, we had a counseling meeting with their counselor and agreed that extracurricular was important but also her weakness since we didn't know much about how and what to do was good for her. Then we joined IvyMax's counseling program. I have to say, this one year so far, overall is good, even though not all the time being extremely satisfying, they have been adjusting and coordinating, willing to listen and communicate. My daughter now enjoys participating in their students actives. They have provided many volunteering opportunities and encouraged my daughter to try and challenge. I have seen how my daughter have changed!
