Stopped for food and shakes…read more My daughter and I ordered a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich each. She also got Mac n cheese bites with ranch and I got hot pepper cheese balls with ranch. A banana shake and a chocolate shake. $40 total. The sandwiches were cold. Not just not warm but actually cold meat and bread. Big chunks of meat also. Not pulled. The only thing good about it was the flavor. The hot pepper cheese balls were either freezer burnt or not cooked all the way. They shredded when I opened one up. The Mac n cheese bites were good and cooked throughly. I would like to think if I said anything they would have remade or reheated it but they became very busy after we got our food and my daughter told me not to say anything. She paid for everything so it was her call. I was very disappointed on top of 2 meals at an ice cream shop being $40. I really hope things get better for them. I've not been hearing good things at all this season. They're right up the road from me and I love supporting small businesses. But I don't think we'll return until I start hearing something more positive. Sorry.

Got a milk shake in 2 cups (cup inside a cup) "due to a small hole" after getting home only to find…read morethe small hole was literally the entire bottom of the cup. Not sure if the young kid that made the shake did so in the Styrofoam cup and destroyed the bottom and was too lazy to make another after he messed it up or what. I ended up dumping it down the drain rather than risk drinking pulverized Styrofoam or feeding it to my wife and 2 young children (ordered 4) waste of money... I've usually had good luck here over the past few years but I guess when you hire high-school kids (fresh crop each year) with no supervision you get what you get in this day in age. Sadly we won't be back.

If you know, you know. This iconic bakery has been a staple of the city for generations, and after recently celebrating its 90th anniversary, it's easy to see why people keep coming back. What makes Gus's so special isn't just the famous cream sticks (although they absolutely live up to the hype). It's a family-run business that has become part of the fabric of the community, and there's something special about supporting a local institution that has been serving customers with pride for nearly a century. Beyond the cream sticks, they offer cakes, cookies, pastries, and just about every sweet treat you could hope to find in a hometown bakery. On a previous visit, we did run into a small issue when a few of our cream sticks were missing that signature filling. I gave them a call, and instead of excuses, I was met with genuine kindness and a sincere desire to make it right. On our next visit, they more than delivered, and the experience reminded me why customer service still matters. Gus's Goodies is one of those places I'll always make time for whenever I'm back in Weirton. Thank you for the continued hospitality, wonderful service, and for making the city just a little sweeter with every cream stick. Here's to many more years of carrying on a hometown tradition--and yes, filling those cream sticks (and this Yelp review) with plenty of love.

My boyfriend and I stopped in on Valentine's day to pick up a few cookies and a blueberry muffin. I…read morewas surprised at how many Valentine's day themed baked goods were still available when we showed up. We bought some sugar cookies, chocolate chip, and a peanut butter. The muffin was for his grandmother, but it was the last blueberry on the shelf and it looked good. The cookies were fantastic. I personally had the peanut butter with a little dollop of chocolate in the middle. It had a slight chew and lots of peanut butter flavor. I thought the prices were a little high for the cakes, but maybe they're amazing! The customer-facing area of the business is on the smaller side. It would definitely feel crowded with 10 people in there. They have racks spread throughout so you can shop each corner without being forced to wait at the counter for everything. They do have a good sized paved parking lot available right out front.
