Worse experience I've every had came back to put part in and I guess couldmyfix it as he come in cussing saying he couldn't fix the piece of sh... and wasn't going to wasn't no more time ...,. he left parts off it and went to move it the whole top panel wasn't even screwed back in.... In words he screwed it up so bad i had to buy a new one and this one was only a year old.... No way would I recommend them never have dealt with someone like him before he really needs to retire and I wasn't one to judge till now....WORSE!!!!! read more

Best part was that my dryer broke Sunday and he offered to come Monday. I opted for Tuesday and he was on time. He worked hard and fixed the dryer when I was ready to hear it was dead. He also cleaned out my dryer vent. He was here 2 hours in all and although it cost more than I'd hoped it would be, it was about half cost of a new dryer. read more

I was looking for a repair person for my Samsung refrigerator in mid-Dec. Most of the service companies were offering to come to Iola in 10 to 15 days. Jeffery was available to come out later that same day. He diagnosed the problem as being with the main computer board and the top ice-maker. He worked within my schedule and we eventually replaced both the main board and the ice-maker. All is now well. read more

I'd give him less than one star if I could. He may be knowledgeable about repairs but his customer service is beyond horrible. We have a Total Home Protection warranty. Our stove just quit last Sunday. I called in the claim that afternoon. Granted, we live 25 miles from the nearest city. Howdy Appliance was the second repair company that THP contacted. My husband attempted to get in touch with him on Tuesday and he never called back. On Wednesday morning, I got a rude email from him telling me it wasn't worth his time to drive to my house. I contacted THP again and was told they'd offered him MORE MONEY, above what I pay for the service call, to come out. We got in touch with him again and arranged for him to come out on Thursday. He did and said it was not repairable. He assured my husband, before he left our house, that he'd taken care of all the details with THP so they could replace the stove. My husband called them on Friday and was told that Mr Howdy Appliance hadn't done the correct paperwork and they were unable to get in touch with him. I got another call from THP as I drove home from work at 5pm. The rep told me that they were still unable to get in touch with him (his voice mailbox had been "full" all day) but they'd sent an email to him with the needed information. We have continued to call both phone numbers we have for him. My husband finally got in touch with his mother and she assured us that she'd get him to call and take care of the paperwork. Now it's Saturday morning with no answer from him. We've just left another message for him and talked to his mother. She advised that he said he'd tried to email with a copy to us but it "autocorrected" and bounced back. I've had it with him. We're still waiting... Avoid Howdy Appliance Repair like the plague. read more

I contacted several other appliance repair companies prior to finding Howdy. Jeffrey was very courteous and well spoken. We agreed to a service call on my lunch break from work. He texted me 30 mins. prior(as promised) to ensure that I was still on schedule. He arrived and quickly diagnosed our Samsung washer, provided me with an estimate for repairs and assured me that he would have the part the following day at 10:30 am and we could meet up on my lunch break, so I would not have to miss any work. Jeffrey called thirty minutes prior to our agreed appointment once again, we meet up at my house, he replaced the defective part in a timely manner, confirmed the part fixed the problem, cleaned up after himself. I had talked to Jeffery on the phone before about a fridge that was probably too old to repair. I thought he did me a favor letting me know it was not worth fixing without coming out or charging anything. Of course I called him again for the next problem I had. This time I knew the gas dryer was worth fixing. He came out within a couple of hours, worked hard and got it going again. He also said it needed a couple of parts that he didn't have on hand and needed to order and as long as I didn't load it up too heavy, it would be fine to keep using it. I paid a little more than I expected and expected to see him back to finish up a week later. That was March 15th. Here it is over two months later and he has accidentally answered the phone twice since then. Once, he asked me to resend the model of my dryer since he didn't know if he had my parts still since it had been so long (2 weeks) since the initial service. The next time he hung up on me (accidentally? He didn't call back then either) driving to UPS to hopefully pick up my parts. I'm pretty sure he must have finally figured out how to block my number since he hasn't answered his phone in over a week now. He owes me $59+tax in parts alone. If you have him do work for you, don't pay him for anything he hasn't finish already. (Yeah, I know that rule, but I didn't think people still pulled this when they've been in business this long. He needs more reviews that show how he does business.) If he didn't intend to come back, he should not have charged me for the parts and labor to put them in. read more

We were looking for a repair service that was contracted with our extended warranty service plan. We called & left messages with multiple local repair companies between Christmas and New Year's and Jeffery from Howdy Appliance Repair promptly returned the call. He immediately knew what was wrong with our refrigerator & was available the same day to fix it.
