First, we learned upon check-in that our room (out of 4) had been given away and that they were "full" with no more rooms available but when my husband threatened to cancel the entire reservation, we were given a suite and 2 complimentary cards for pizzas in the attached restaurant and 2 free drinks in the attached bar. We had had these reservations for greater than 6 weeks.
Then, we were not given wash rags or hand towels on a regular basis. We had ONE in the room upon check-in; I had to ask for one 2 days later; then my husband asked for more our the day before we checked out and was told this was done on purpose so that tips could be obtained for these "favors". When he pointed out that these things are a part of housekeeping's job the head housekeeper just laughed.
When we got home, we were told by 2 different people in our party that something was missing out of their luggage but we cannot prove that it was taken or lost there at the hotel but one member put a piece of jewelry (yes, her fault, she did not use the room safe, she's a teenager, hopefully she learned her lesson) in a bag in her luggage in her room the day before leaving and it was not there when she got home (she didn't go back into that bag before leaving).
Other than this, you can't beat the convenience of the location (next to the airport, across the street from the beach, next to a main highway, etc.). read more
