Spring on my garage door snapped while I was in the garage and at first, I thought something got caught in the door, etc. But, during my inspection of the loud "bang", I saw one spring was snapped in half. After looking at ads in Safari Magazine and online, I decided to go with my gut, and select a proven local company with great reviews on Next Door and one that I had their business card on file. After calling the office and getting a very personal voicemail, that the staff was at an event, and would call me back that evening after 7pm. Well Priscilla, the owner did! I didn't answer the call, since my caller ID was a person, I didn't recognize, but she left me a very detailed message and stated she would also text me. She did, I called back, and set up Monday afternoon to avoid a weekend surcharge fee, since my stuck car was not essential. Dennis, the technician called ahead to alert his arrival on Monday. He makes quick work of the repair, lubricating my rollers as well and giving me some tips. I was happy with the overall experience and the 5-year warranty on the replacement springs. $385 was in line with my research, so I was satisfied. David Howard came out and gave us our quote to repair garage door which was stuck and catywampus. Very polite and knowledgeable. Dennis was our repairman, he arrived on time and immediately went to work. He had the door open in minutes. I had asked my wife to get my son to help me get the lawnmower out of the garage. Grass had gotten pretty tall in the few weeks I could not get in the garage. Dennis immediately grabbed ahold of the mower and pushed it out so I could cut the grass. Dennis had the door repaired within a hour. When Dennis brought me the receipt he kept asking me if there was anything I needed him to help with, I was so impressed with this company and Dennis. I knew right away what the "clunk" I heard on Christmas Eve morning was. Sure enough the big spring over the door broke. I called Howard, having used them 12 years ago for the same thing. They asked if I could wait a few days as they were swamped, which I could because fortunately the cars were out when it happened. On appointment day their tech called 20 minutes out, and came right on time. He had the springs replaced, lubed up the rest of the door, even adjusted my opener, in about an hour. So such a nice surprise when from the first call to the office, to Dennis coming and completing the job, I wasn't annoyed at all! They made it a pleasant experience with the tech, Dennis going above and beyond to get it right for us. He worked so efficiently and took extra time to examine the whole system. For my Garage Door needs, I have used Howard Garage Doors for over 45 years. My builder used them to supply the Garage Doors on our First two Homes. Occasionally, your door needs Service. I am pretty hard on my Garage Doors as I seldom use the Front Door. The Service guys are prompt and do a great job. About a year ago a spring broke on my door, The Door was the type that used a spring wound around a Pipe. This is not a Job for Amateurs. Serious injuries could result. since this door is eight years old, I opted for a routine service. they used a Professional Grade Lube that made the door much more quiet and smooth.they are the folks I call when my Door needs Help. read more

Our two car garage door spring (one of the two) had broken. This was the second spring repair/replace on this aluminum door in 20 years. Lisa, at HGD, answered the phone around 7 a.m. that Monday morning. She was gracious and helpful! She assigned Dennis, their Lead Tech to the repair/replace for that afternoon. Dennis was a honest, qualified professional as he performed his duties. He completed the repair/replace on the spring's and two frayed cables. Checked the door hardware and final operation. He made me aware of something's to watch for as the door & roller hardware age's. HGD charged a "fair/discounted" price, which as a 44 year Brevard County resident and unemployed former (not retired-13 yrs service) Army officer, I greatly and sincerely appreciated! Very small company with just one technician. If you need your garage door serviced, you will be waiting a long time and if you are lucky enough for fast turnaround, the time window the lady gives is excessively long too. You could be waiting hours for the one technician they have to show up. After noticing multiple 5 star fake reviews on Google (among them, the owner, Priscilla, the technician Den M. and his wife Stacy) I decided to use a different, more honest service person. read more
