Secondly, who doesn't love bao? @howbaodatchi is serving up bao buns, skewers, stir frys, and more for delivery and pick up only at the @southloopfoodcompany. As a South Loop resident myself, I think this cloud kitchen is an incredible addition to the neighborhood! We got to try 3 different bao, pictured top to bottom: Beef Bao: shredded beef, gochujang BBQ sauce, pickled ginger, fried garlic, scallions Jerk Chicken Bao: shredded jerk chicken, spicy kimchi scallions (loved the spice level of this) Lamb Bao: Grilled and braised leg of lamb, tzatziki, tomatoes, pickled red onions, scallions (just like a gyro) The jerk chicken noodle stir fry bowl was delicious as well! It was loaded with lots of veggies and jerk chicken! Highly recommend checking this place out for food that has familiar flavors (and maybe some not so familiar) presented in a new way! Correct, they do not sell alcohol; however it may not seem this way now, but this area will have many mid to high-end restaurants/sports bars that will need your business while in town vs grabbing something from a store and heading back into your hotel. Also, there are thousands of residents in the area that do NOT want a local store selling alcohol as it attracts the wrong crowd. Keep in mind that McCormick place is in a very safe area; however it is at the south end of the South Loop, so with the future Green Line CTA stop coming, it will need to stay a safe area. The store itself has everything you want and very friendly staff.
