Cooper is a dog that is a little big for his age and needed the help with the understanding his surroundings. Plus, Cooper would start a fight with our younger dog Tucker. Tucker is a dog that can become crazy and wild at times. Alex came into our home and helped us understand that Cooper needed to know that it is ok to have both dogs in the family. Cooper was the dog we had first and he was not a fan when we brought Tucker home. Now that Alex has been training our house has started to become peaceful again. Alex worked with Cooper to show him that when Tucker gets crazy that it is ok. He is not a threat to Cooper or the family. Alex worked with the whole family on how to control the environment when both dogs are in it. We can now have both dogs together at feeding time and go for a walk with both dogs. Before we would have to feed both dogs in different areas and only take one dog at a time for a walk. Our home is so amazing now that Alex has been working with us. We still have a lot of work to do but we have the tools to keep us going. We are not done at all with training with Alex we have just begun our process on training. We've taken over 100 in-person classes with a handful of other trainers before we met Alex. We can definitely say that Alex is 100% hands down THE BEST. He is intuitive, has precise timing, and he tailored the training to fit the level we were at. I thought I had pretty good baseline training, but it amazed me how much we learned in just a few sessions. Night and day improvement. Also, I like that Alex has a great attitude, which made us feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. The mistakes helped us to learn quickly. He helped us get our puppy from no skills to earning his Novice Trick Dog Title in no time. We were interviewed and selected based on our…read moreapplication, and although we were prepared to wait 6-8 months, we were lucky to get our puppy within about 3 months due to a change in timing for other families. We were the last pick in the litter, which can feel discouraging, but Shelby was very reassuring and confident in her matching process, and she was right because we ended up with the perfect puppy for our home. Our puppy came home at 10 weeks healthy, confident, and well-adjusted, which made the transition very smooth. My wife and I scheduled a meet-and-greet with Julie by text. We drove 45 minutes to get to the…read more"resort," but Julie wasn't there. Her husband, Todd, walked over from his shop to greet us. He new nothing of our appointment and seemed a bit confused and unfocused. He asked twice if we were there to drop off our dog, even after we told him we were there only to meet Julie and see the premises. We asked Todd if we could see the part of the house where our dog would be kept, away from other boarded animals. He said we could not enter that part of the house because two other dogs were staying there. We then told Todd we'd be happy to look in through the window. Todd declined again, saying cagily that he would have to "rearrange" some things. So, after driving 45 minutes with a confirmed appointment, we neither were able to meet the primary caregiver nor see the room where our dog would be staying. Julie texted us after we left to say she had forgotten the date. In ordinary circumstances this would be disturbing. After all, we would be entrusting our pet -- and her feeding and medication schedule -- to someone who apparently cannot manage her own schedule. (We just saw another Yelp review which reported the same thing.) And, Todd's unwillingness to let us look through a window into a room where two dogs supposedly were being boarded is highly suspicious. These circumstances were all the more troubling because before scheduling the visit I spoke to Julie at length about a bad experience my wife and I had with another home-based boarding service. On that occasion, the primary caregiver at the boarding facility refused to meet us and refused our request to see the interior of the building. Julie agreed that our experience with this other facility was very troubling and not acceptable -- and then she and her husband put us through virtually the same thing!!
