I went in several times to go over the details as my dad was a stage 4 cancer patient at the time, and was only given weeks to live. Every question I had was treated as an inconvenience. Only "certain" people could help you if you walked in. They disregarded several of my requests. They think they have the monopoly on the Catholics on the West and South sides of South Bend. More, on prepaid arrangements, you are a thorn in their side. I took a year to think before I wrote this review. It wasn't done on raw emotion.

I called Kryder Cremation Services Tuesday morning and get some info so I could make the decision to bury him in our pet cemetery or cremate him. They made my choice so easy! Information was readily shared, they were polite and very soothing to speak to. 20 minutes later I was in the car on my way to them. Went in and the area is clean, bright, and a few meows were lounging to greet me. A few questions later about individual or group cremation, and basic info about me and my Napoleon dynamite, a fee of $120.00 was paid and I was on my way home to eat cookies and sob in my bed. The next afternoon they called and said that he was ready to be picked up and gave me the hours of operation again. I couldn't believe that in just over 1 day it was done. Drove out there, was greeted by a orange and white meow ( which is what my Napoleon dynamite was) which almost brought me to my knees- the ladies at the desk were very fast to ask me what I needed and when I said that I was there to pick up my ashes one went to get them and the other gently spoke to me about the cats that I was admiring. The box that they sent him home in is absolutely perfect. Is tasteful and elegant and just so lovely. The certificate has his name on it and is wonderful as well.

Unfortunately, quality is very hit or miss. On the last order, my clothes were folded sloppily and are wrinkled to the point of being unwearable without being ironed. This completely defeats the purpose of paying for wash and fold. Also note that they charge a higher rate for bedding, which includes sheets and towels. I've used wash and fold in a number of other cities (as well as other places here) and never seen a higher rate for these items, only blankets, comforters, and rugs (which makes sense).

She answered our questions and got us taken care of and let us know they would give us a call when it was done. Here is the best part! Just a few hours after we dropped it off they called us to let us know it was fixed and ready to go. While they were at it they adjusted a couple things that would allow the blower to operate better... and not just because they could charge us for the additional work. The amount they charged us for the work they did was more than reasonable. It was much quicker than expected and very thorough. The last time I was in Niles, Michigan, was last fall with my dad. He loved the random drive we took through autumn leaves and along winding rivers with surprising islands and over hills I didn't know Michigan had. When we drove by this adorable little Catholic cemetery, my dad made me make a U-turn. We marveled at the tiny, vaguely Russian-looking chapel in the middle. Of course, the chapel was locked, but that just added to the mystery. It's a really small cemetery, or a larger graveyard, whichever you prefer. It's so small, in fact, that while it does have paved roads so that cars can get close to graves, those roads are so narrow that if you park on the road itself, you'll be blocking traffic. I have no idea what they do for graveside services; do people park outside the cemetery and walk in? It's affiliated with but not physically connected to nearby (but somewhat difficult to find) St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church ( https://www.yelp.com/biz/st-mary-of-the-immaculate-conception-catholic-church-niles-2?osq=St+Mary+of+the+Immaculate+Conception ), which deserves a visit as well. Some cemeteries are spooky. This one is not. Or at least it's not spooky in the middle of the day. Whatever the case, I usually enjoy visiting cemeteries. They're so odd and beautiful and sad and hopeful and often historical. *Things happened, as they say, or--more accurately--the Women's Selection Committee once again awarded Ohio State a home bid to host even though they haven't made it into the Sweet 16 in two (and now three) straight years of hosting. My Fighting Irish should have hosted, like they usually do, but they made short work of the Buckeyes anyway.
