I have been visiting Glenelg probably several times a week for around 5 years and until last week…read morehad never been in this well positioned cafe/deli on the corner of Jetty Road. I have no idea why....but i remember the outside was recently renovated and looks a lot more inviting. Either way I dropped in for a quick lunch the other day....... and left very happy and already planning what to have on my next lunch stop! The cafe is not the largest, with around 5/6 tables inside and 2/3 on the pavers out side. The cafe is inviting, bright and you are presented straight away with a large counter containing fresh sliced meats, salads and vegs, rolls and baguettes....all very neat and tidy! The staff behind the counter very friendly and welcoming too! The menu is large and easy to reading, spanning the wall behind the counter. It includes a brekkie menu, sandwiches and rolls, hot dogs, hot spuds with toppings, some basic meals, hot roast rolls, and of course coffees! The food that we bought was excellent and was prepared in good time for us to take away...... i will be visiting again! For a cafe/deli that size the menu is good and well priced!!

Came across this cafe the other day not really notices it before, just at the corner of jetty road…read morenear the beach. The place is quite small with about 5 - 6 tables in and a couple outside, wasn't really busy. The menu is good do a lot of fresh sandwich's, rolls, salads and more and at a good price. The staff here was really friendly and very welcoming, great service and didn't have to wait long for food was done quickly and tasted great. I have been here a couple times now and have had takeaway and have eaten in and the service is the same, this is now one of my favorite places to go for lunch in glenelg.

Caruso's Fresh Foods on Jetty Road at Glenelg is much more than just a greengrocer. While they…read morestock ample supplies of all the best quality fruit and vegetables sourced daily from the Adelaide Produce Markets, they also carry a range of other foods making them a one stop shop - more like a mini market than just a fruit and veg shop. As well as your fresh produce you can also pick up cold meats and smallgoods, fresh dips and pates, a myriad of Olive varieties, quiches and ready made salads. I personally love their Arrancini which are like risotto balls in a 'to die for' Bolognese sause. Oils ain't oils anymore with what they have on offer at Caruso's in the oil department. You can get your hands on brands and varieties including Pendleton Estate, Lucia's Fine Foods, Maroudas olive oils, Brookfarm Macadamia oil, Jamie Oliver's Avocado Oil, Rice Bran Oil and Azalea Grapeseed oil. There's also a range of coffees, teas and (my personal favourite) chocolates in the store. Caruso's is located about half way down Jetty Road and are directly opposite the end of Waterloo Street.

Being a healthy eater, I love my fruit and vegetables and Caruso's is one of the few places outside…read moreof the Central Markets that I buy my weekly supply. It isn't the cheapest place to shop but the quality and selection is second to none. It is also very convenient as it has one of the best continental deli sections in the area. This section is headed up by Julie who remembers the names of the regulars and enjoys a chat with them as she slices the meats. They have a wide selection of hams and their short cut bacon is a hit in my family. I love the fact that you can cook a whole meal from this one place without having to venture into a cold impersonal supermarket. You can buy specialty bread, milk, eggs, a variety of cheeses and pasta to go. As a regular, all the staff turn to say hello as I glide past with my trolley. At the checkout, if you are ever there say hello to Ollie, she has been there for years and is good value, always reminding me to get my loyalty card out when I forget. Her till is the one closest to the wall. Tip: If you are buying lots of groceries and your car is a distance away, the lovely staff will help carry your bags to your car door!

This Foodland supermarket is an oasis in a suburban shopping centre which is finally being…read morerejuvenated with a Target opening soon and a selection of speciality shops within the new complex next door and the makeover I hope will slowly creep over to the tired Foodland facade to blend in. But inside it has always been a fantastic place to shop with fresh fruit and vegetables, large deli display counters including a separate sections on either side devoted to seafood and an excellent gourmet continental deli. They have recently added an organic fruit and veg section between the standard fruit and veg area plus the nuts and bolts area. The atmosphere is quite relaxing for a supermarket as the aisles are wide, the ceiling is high with not a hint of claustrophobia, and the nice big picture windows across the front allows shoppers and staff a view. The one and only complaint I have is the prices are not cheap and there is a definite lack of specials, the forest of trees I receive stashed in my letter box everyday, is frequently devoid of Foodland Pasadena junk mail advertising. And....I wish they had a petrol saver card despite it being a contrived scenario, as I end up going elsewhere to spend $30 just to get my 4cents worth of cheaper petrol! Also, it is the only supermarket in South Australia which has a deli cafe! A novel and great concept for such a place! Well done. All in all, great supermarket and great friendly staff.
