Fucking used gauze and tape in my Chicken Gumbo. Now I'll NEVER EAT GUMBO AGAIN. I could care less who makes it! A picture is worth a thousand words so I'll let the picture speak for me! They need to be audited severely bc this should've never left the kitchen. In a hospital of all places! No this ain't AI or nothing like that bruh. This happened. The date is 3/1/26

The good thing is there are nurses and doctors here. The bad thing is they are very dirty. The emergency rooms are never cleaned although they use them as patients rooms. The bathrooms are filthy. The toilets seats are full of dirty substances.

The care was very attentive as well as delivered from the heart. Wholesome team with individuals like Ciera who go above and beyond to ensure the proper care always comes with a smile and experienced in providing any and all information around diagnosis and medications. Even when in pain and irritable everyone seemed to have the same goal which was me my health and my comfortability.

This review is written from the visitor point of view; I was not a patient. Pros: This hospital has elegant decor, nice attending staff to help you navigate through the massive space, a well tended gift shop with lots of items, a full cafeteria with almost anything you might want to eat, a gorgeous doll house display, and even a pretty courtyard along side of a interior gathering area complete with a piano player. The entrance is on the monorail system with a stop right near the doors. All these things are nice, but wait, there's more. Cons: The location is very far from my home area of the Memorial District. The med center is right by Rice University, which is both a very uppity area but also a very transient area. Valet parking is almost always full leading you to wind your way through the 10 level also completely full parking garage. We parked on level 10, but due to where the elevator is located, we had to walk to level 9. The stairs we passed smelled of urine. When we exited the elevator, the smell of trash was overwhelming. When we crossed the small street to get to the entrance, the smokers outside were less than concerned about us inhaling their smoke. Once inside, the massive space is hard to navigate. I've heard multiple people rave about Methodist Hospitals and their level of care. Many people I know, prefer them over Memorial Hermann. My dad was in for back surgery. His room was originally the ICU wing, so it was quite large. His nurse was very nice and personable. I liked the presentation of the hospital, but I can't imagine going down there and having to fight traffic, plus dealing with the parking, if it was personally my choice. I didn't feel it was fair to give three stars since most of what I am reviewing is not based on a patient's point of view. The extra star given was due to my dad's satisfaction with his experience.

Sweet sweet stew and rice. And a hard egg roll

I have nothing wrong to say about the staff and cleanliness'. I have been here 3 days because of my mom's surgery which is today. But about there food. '. I have not had one day of good luck with it '. Horrible. That is all I have to say. If not hard to bite ' mist food is sweet' and with sweet food it is impossible to fix.

Ask the Community - Houston Methodist Hospital

What is the price for a cargiology check up?

I'm pretty sure that will all be dependent upon the contracted rates for your health insurance provider - if you have one. If not, it will be a self-pay, to which you will need to contact the hospital directly for that answer. :)

Our daughter is currently working here, which gave us a chance to spend some time in the area and see just how massive this medical district really is. The area is beautifully maintained and enormous, with world-class hospitals, research institutions, and medical schools all concentrated in one place. I jokingly call it "the Las Vegas of hospitals" -- the scale, energy, and constant activity are remarkable. Overall, an incredible medical hub and something quite impressive to see firsthand. I was on hold for over 10 minutes, and when she finally joined, her tone was rude, dismissive, and impatient. Instead of showing empathy or professionalism, she hung up on me -- without ever asking about my sick child. As a hardworking mother with excellent insurance, I expect basic respect and compassion -- not attitude and rudeness. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially from a medical professional who is supposed to care for families. 0/10 -- I would never recommend Dr. Onugha or Teladoc to anyone. Patients deserve to be treated with kindness and understanding, not dismissed or disrespected.

Of course you don't get rest in a hospital but they made sure to try to make it comfortable. That room in my opinion was prehistoric. Nothing about that room gave labor and delivery. It was very small and cramped. Tv remote had to be switched out because that wasn't working the first hour. The sleep sofa was in an odd space. But once I delivered I was moved to a recovery room in the jones building. The room was much nicer, but small. The limit is four guest but to be honest that's too much. I also love the celebration menu for the new parents. Steak, lobster Mac and cheese, spinach and key lime cheese cake. A very good reward after not being on a clear liquid diet for two days.

After undergoing a planned 12-hour reconstructive surgery, the level of post-operative care I…read moreexperienced raised serious concerns for me about patient safety. Recovering from a procedure of that magnitude requires attentive monitoring and compassionate care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I was shuffled around for a room and then placed in a very small room and often felt largely left on my own during my stay. The staff was poorly equipped to handle my recovery. The lack of knowledge was infuriating. They would crush time released medications and I was told if I didn't take it then I would have to stay in pain. (My mouth was wired shut and it was like battery acid with the syringe. They didn't care.) There were long periods where I struggled to get assistance, and the level of attentiveness from staff did not reflect the seriousness of my condition. I would consider the care here unethical and inhumane. I also observed that my room was not cleaned consistently during my stay, which is alarming for a surgical patient where infection prevention should be a priority. What troubled me most was the lack of compassion and responsiveness from most members of the staff. After undergoing such a major operation, patients should feel supported and cared for. Instead, I frequently felt like an inconvenience rather than someone recovering from extensive surgery. Hospitals should be places where patients feel safe and supported during their stay. I hope the administration takes feedback like this seriously and works to improve the quality of care provided to not only surgical patients but all patients. You can tell who's there for just a paycheck.

The day of surgery once again I was told by Dr Paul James and the nurses the sam thing no stitches and I'm getting glued up with the mesh. I get out of surgery I didn't get explained anything. I wasn't told how to take care of the wound. After a week I took off the bandage and I found that there was a piece of wire sticking out of my belly button. Weeks past and it was still there, I decided to follow up with Dr Paul James. When I went he told me that he decided to not use the mesh and decided to use stitches, but stitches that were placed inside me not on the outside of my belly button. He didn't want to give a reason why the game plan changed and why I wasn't told. I have called Dr Paul James' office 5 times and still haven't gotten explained why he changed the original plan I was told for surgery which was no stitches and I'm getting glued up with mesh covering the hole. Almost 2 months later and I still don't have an answer. The day of surgery I told the nurses that I am scared of needles. Most of the time after making that statement the nurses are more focus on me being calm and relax because they know this situation stresses me out. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case at this hospital. The anesthesiologist that it was funny to pretend that he was going to put a needle into my check to put me to sleep before surgery. I will say I truly didn't appreciate that, it made me feel very uncomfortable. While he kept doing it and pretending to put the needle in my neck, I told him to stop multiple times. Overall my experience was terrible.

First off, I went to MD Anderson with a recent cancer diagnosis. They were supposed to be my…read moreprimary doctors that would work hand in hand with my local cancer center. However they assigned me a team of oncologists who were NOT licensed for treatment of a patient from the state of Arkansas. They all thought that AR was Arizona and not Arkansas. I had already performed all the tests at my local oncologist like an MRI, PET scans, urinalysis, bone marrow biopsy, etc.... But they told me that it was their policy that I "had to" go through all of the same procedures in case they found anything wrong. I was 5 weeks into learning that I had blood cancer and had never been in a hospital before this experience. So they practically forced me to do everything again at a cost of over $3,000 after the insurance process. They then scheduled my follow up appointments with the doctor so we could determine my schedule for treatment. This was all scheduled in their app and was to be the first of many phone/video calls with my primary oncologist. The day came for my appointment and the doctor was 3 hours late to call me. My son had a basketball game that evening so we decided to drive there and hopefully the doctor would call me while we were on the road. He did call and asked me what I was doing so I told him I was driving to Tulsa OK for my son's game. He said that was way too far away from Arizona for a high school basketball game. I said it was just a 1.5 hours late trip from my house. He then said, no, you live in Arizona, you know ... AR. I said that I could be wrong but my 3rd grade American geography teacher told me AR was Arkansas. He said hold on.... Took 30 seconds to move around some paper on his desk, placed me on hold for another minute. Then he said that he didn't have a license to practice in Arkansas and he would have to cut the call short. I told him that my address never changed from the driver's license I gave them during the registration process and has always shown Arkansas. He laughed it off and said that he's not from America and he didn't take the same American geography class, but I should find another doctor as my primary oncologist because he would no longer be able to or willing to treat me. He then said that I should go to UAMS if I live in Arkansas... they have a cancer center up there. Fast-forward 3 months.... I disputed the bills with MD Anderson to no avail and they said it's not their problem to verify any information where a patient is coming from or who treats them. It's the patient's responsibility to know that from the beginning. It's ridiculous that their staff would expect a patient that is newly diagnosed with cancer to know that they would have to pull the licenses of every doctor that they are about to meet and work with to make sure that their license to be treating a patient from the state that they reside in. I also asked them where was the documentation that stated I needed to do this because they had plenty of documentation in the registration process that verified a whole lot of other items but nothing on being assigned a doctor that was licensed to treat the patient. Bottom line.... If you have a choice, please go to ANY other hospital and/or cancer center than this joke of a place. I'm my experience they only care about the money and immediately kicked me to the curb when they found out that I was not a steady paycheck for them and their industry. Just so you know, I never heard from the doctor again never got a card from them that said sorry we can't serve you or your needs. Just a bunch of bills that now I have to pay twice for because I had to do tests at the UAMS Center because they wouldn't even work with me to get all of my records in a timely manner. Yet they want to bill me for all of these tests that they didn't even use to help me fight my cancer. Again, all they're interested in is money and not the patient. I am now being treated at UAMS Little Rock and have had the most amazing experience that a person could have consider considering it's dealing with cancer treatment . The staff, the nurses the security the doctors are all amazing and I would never choose a different hospital. Please please please stay clear of MD Anderson, and go anywhere else.

Long story short, she ended up being admitted to the NICU and separated we were. In an inhumane, cruel and poorly executed attempt at following "Hospital wide" policy, there is only 1 visitor allowed per 24 hour period. They don't consider the fact that children/babies have 2 parents and that this is a critical time for bonding and development. Not only does that mean that Dad cannot see her without me forfeiting my visit for the day, but we're only allowed during "Visiting" hours of 10AM-8:00PM. Now I spend each day racing the clock in what feels like a cruel ultimatum of work vs spending precious time with my baby. It takes about 30 minutes from the time I get here (parking, checking in, getting through all the doors) to the time I get to baby so I automatically shave that from the clock. I have no time for the grocery store and am falling pretty behind in everything needing done around the house. Not only am I constantly distracted when I'm at work because all I can think of is getting to her crib side but when I am with her it's far from quality time spent, as I'm constantly trying to catch my breath and finish paperwork and anything else I can do online while I'm finally sitting down. From a strictly medical standpoint, although I have no frame of reference for standard of care with NICU/babies, I have little to no complaints. With that said, all of the afore mentioned (and that's just in a nutshell) make coming here rather than directly to Texas Children's Hospital my biggest regret to date. This is a heartbreaking and tumultuous time for us as is, and it feels nothing short of heartless that they would implement such hurtful and damaging barricades without batting an eye at the individual circumstances. My heart stays broken and I'm sure I'll leave this experience with some degree of PTSD and an even stronger aversion to hospitals than previously. I'm far more concerned with catching HEP C from this place than COVID so I don't care what they say is the "reasoning", it's senseless and cruel.
