He performed my very lengthy resection surgery via the Davinci robotic assist and then my ileostomy reversal a few months later. I had to start my 2nd round of chemo as soon as possible post resection surgery per my oncologist's treatment preference at the time so I had to wait after my chemo completion to have my ileostomy reversal but both surgeries were a success! I can't thank Dr. Haas, his team and his office staff enough! They took their time to address my concerns and answer any questions I had. At times when I would think of questions after the appointment, they were very good about getting back to me when I called. His staff was always courteous, friendly and attentive on the phone and in person! Words just can't express how grateful I am for their care during a very difficult journey in my life! Pictures were taken about a year after my 2nd surgery.

I experienced a somewhat horrific colonoscopy after turning 55 years old and realizing I was…read moreoverdue. I had a physician by the name of Faruqi Sohaib attending as the proctologist. Polyps were found and one of a decent size. As I understand it, proctologist will take A biopsy to confirm whether or not the polyp is cancerous. OK, if the biopsy returns a benign result case should be closed. However, this humorless and emotionally detached imbecile caused me more than a month of pain and I mean gut wrenching, writhing pain. I found out after several days of severe abdominal cramps and absolutely zero energy, that I could've been very near to death due to bacteria breaching or entering the bloodstream from the location where the biopsy had been cauterized. This uncompassionate physician with no bedside manner did not answer his calls in a timely manner and brushed aside my concerns, stating that it was more than likely the Chinese food that I had eaten three days after the exam. Long story short, I seat consultation from several other proctologist in the area and they appear to be a network of individuals who could not provide an objective view. I finally opted to visit with Dr. Clemmons and was extremely pleased with his level and depth of knowledge, including his professionalism. Not only was Dr. Clemens able to correctly diagnose why I spent two days in agonizing pain in bed, as opposed to going to the emergency room for some indefinite period of time as Dr. Sohaib had stated, dr. Clemmons, true to his Hippocratic oath was also concerned that my brother had a higher than normal likelihood of also having polyps and recommended that he get tested as soon as possible. Sadly, but one last testament to Dr. Clemmons thoroughness, he identified a smaller Polyp that had been overlooked and undetected by the original hack, Dr. Faruqi. Dr. Clemmons, A very respectable, professional and knowledgeable physician with a wonderful bedside manner. I cannot recommend him enough. Marc

I will NEVER go to this place again. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy and waited 2 hours after scheduled time in waiting room. Was taken back and waited another 45 minutes after undressing. When they came in the procedure room. The doctor got started. I did not recvd an IV. I was in alot of pain and told them repeatedly it did not feel right. The nurse, not sure if she was a nurse or not. I was still VERY alert, and she proceeded to give me more sedation (I did not ask for) and then Dr Clemmons entered and started the procedure. I felt the pipe tubing and lots of stomach pushed (literally) and I was screaming in pain. No one even asked me if I was ok. Horrible experience. With all the anesthesia I just blacked out and hours later in recovery my husband appeared. A lady told me the Dr would be in to talk to me, and I do NOT have any recollection of any. Upon meeting Dr Clemmons at first I thought he was a nice doctor but whatever his reasons where I felt literally like I was a number. No one followed up they gave me paperwork AND SAID THEY WILL FOLLOW UP IN A FEW DAYS. Never DID. I took the findings to another doctor he asks what this is. I'm so embarrassed hate that I allowed this office to do my colonoscopy. not even sure i trust the results. I called to speak with him, and it was way too many pauses, he was very disconnected.

I was referred to this group that Dr. Chen works for through a gastroenterologist I found on Healthgrades because she could not provide the services I needed. There were 2 female doctors in the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Houston: Marianne Cusick and Lisa Chen. I looked up both physicians on Healthgrades and Lisa Chen had far more reputable reviews than Marianne Cusick, so I of course read all the reviews on Dr. Chen and then hit the bullet and made the drive. Dr. Chen is part of the UT physicians group and her office is located on the second floor, 2C. Front office/Secretary: The front office/window seems to be always shut to provide the best experience for the patient so if you need assistance you ring the bell. I was a new patient so I had a couple of papers I had to fill out. They weren't too friendly but they weren't unfriendly either. Wait time: It took about 18 minutes to get me into the back and I didn't even go into a room. I went into an office at first because Dr. Chen was behind. No worries, they took my blood pressure and heart rate. Then about 5-10 minutes after that I was moved to Dr. Chen's office to notify her of my concerns I had. Professionalism: Dr. Chen's knowledge and professionalism was impeccable. She put me at ease and said we will figure this out. Personal note but I wanted to get something removed but she suggested I shouldn't because it could grow back bigger. She gave me the safest approach and gave me home remedies instead of jumping right into surgery. Personality: I don't know about you guys but personality is KEY to patient and physician relationship. Bed side manner is pertinent because if you have a flat expression from a physician it just makes your experience not rememberable. Dr. Chen has outstanding bedside manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Chen!
