This review is based on my experience with house333 during my house search. I started looking at the peak of the market when interest rates were low. I was a first time home buyer with pretty much no idea what i was getting into. If you are looking to buy, I really enjoyed my experience with Luke & this team and recommend them with no reservations. We shopped around a little with different agents and we really liked their business savvy and knowledge about the different neighborhoods we were interested in buying in. Also, just fyi, I'm writing this review out of my own initiative (i.e., they didn't ask me to write a yelp review). As for the process---be ready to put in the work and be good communicators. Luke will put in as much work as you do in the search and what you get from them is what you put in. Luke is an aggressive negotiator and really knows the real estate market in San Diego. He is also really good at being accessible via email and phone/text, which was really great during the bidding war season when there were multiple times when we would send him a message saying we wanted to put in an offer on a house that had literally just entered the market. We were often traveling for work so we often put together offers virtually over a period of a couple hours. If you are interested in buying an investment property or something that needs a little TLC, they will give you recommendations for people they have worked with before if you need suggestions from mortgage brokers to contractors. We really appreciated this and really love all the renovation work that came out of his recommendations. We ended up finding an overlooked property in Normal Heights (horrible online pictures) but we fixed it up a little and it is perfect for us. We love the neighborhood (few blocks from blind lady ale house!) and the walkable lifestyle it allows us to live. read more

I was a first time home buyer and was buying on my own so everything about the real estate process was new to me. Luke came highly recommended so I already had high expectations, but he quickly blew those out of the water. I am in sales and have been all my life so I already have a high "salesman" radar so doing any sort of transaction of this nature makes me cautious. With that being said, not at a single point in the entire 3-5 month relationship I had with Luke prior to my first buy did I feel pressured into anything. Every place we looked at he sat back, listened, and only answered questions when I asked. Not once did he make any notion that I should lean in one purchasing direction over another. I had worked with another agent prior to Luke and the difference is uncanny. Luke's knowledge about the business, the market, the transaction, etc. is unmatched. The best thing about Luke is when we would go place to place he would tell me what was good about the place, what was bad, what needed to be fixed, what I could get away with not fixing, how much things would cost, the list goes on and on. He was even emailing me comps on other comparable properties at 3 a.m. one evening. To be completely honest, I could talk about Luke's professionalism and skill set for days. Luke is truly the most amazing realtor I have ever met! I wish I had met him when I first moved to San Diego, when I was looking for my own place. When I first moved to San Diego 5-6 years ago, I went through 3 realtors. From my experience, most realtors are not looking out for their clients' best interest, even though that is what they're supposed to do. Instead they're looking out for their own best interest: making a quick commission. All those 3 realtors did the same thing: every place they showed us, they immediately said "ready to make an offer?"--as if I were buying a shirt that, if I didn't like it very much later, I could just buy another one. As if I weren't about to buy the most expensive purchase of my life! The first time we met Luke, we asked him to show us an apartment because we were looking for an investment property. After he showed us the place, he had no comments about the apartment, but he told us that if we wanted to see other places where he knew would be much better investments, he'd gladly take us around. He asked us if we had time then, and he took us to North Park, and he drove us up and down the streets of North Park, and told us that was the area to invest in. He didn't show us any specific places to sell us. I could then tell how much he loved what he did! He told me he wanted to help me buy a place that would be good for me, so if I ever wanted to live there, I would love it, and it would make me money. He patiently showed us lots of places for over a year, and he never complained that he had showed us too many places and I should just hurry up and make an offer. Instead, many of the places we saw, he told us "I can find you a better house". I have NEVER seen a realtor say that!!! He is the most honest, scrupulous, amazing realtor I have ever met!!! He truly looks out for the best interest of his clients. He treated us like we were his family. He did find me an amazing house, which he also helped remodel. I mean, how many realtors do that for their clients? He has amazing sense of design. He can see a gem hidden in rubble. He's truly amazing! Of all the real estate agents we have used to purchase houses, Luke and Todd are the best. We were on our second real estate agent during a relocation house hunt, when a friend recommended Luke. As soon as friends know you are hunting for a house, it's amazing how many real estate agents come out of the woodwork.
