We had such a fun time riding, and would love to come back one day to stay at the campground and check out some of the other trails in the area. Gary was especially careful with our bikes on his rack, had an impeccably clean car (even without considering he hauls around outdoor enthusiasts), and happily showed us important markers and potential hiccups on the trail as he drove us to the trailhead. Alyssa was very responsive and kind on the phone. Overall, I get the impression that they love the land and community around McKenzie River, and are just excited to share that enthusiasm with their guests.

We booked river rafting and a waterfall tour guide through the lodge and both were awesome! Karen, our rafting guide, was great! She was very informative and fun! Alex and Maddie took us on the waterfall tour. We couldn't go to one of the waterfalls because the road was closed so they took us to a couple other spots in the area to compensate. Snacks were provided and omg the brownies were so delicious Thank you to all of the people who run the Horse Creek Lodge and Outfitters. You all helped us make some pretty amazing memories! Have stayed here once before and dismissed some of the quirks that time (an older room, 1st edition…read moreflat screen tv, etc) to the benefit of a larger room, and getting the free drink when you check in. However this time when checking in my keycards worked so went to dinner but when returning neither of them worked anymore so couldn't access my room and the hotel wasnt staffed after 8pm (I got back around 930). The main entrance door lock didnt work (security issue for an unstaffed hotel) so at least I was able to stay in the lobby while trying to figure out what to do. They have an emergency assistance number of the front desk to call but no one answers it so after multiple unanswered calls and voicemails to that resorted to calling misc numbers on post it notes behind the counter. One of those ended up in being maintenance who was able to get a hold of his manager who then got a 3rd party security to let me in. During all this another mom and daughter returned to also find their keys no longer worked as well. Once back in the room there was sounded like running water from the unit above all night long. Their is a counter over the back of toilet so the lid only stays up if you are seated holding it up with your back. One of the bedroom lamps hasnt been cleaned in a long time with the amount of bugs on the inside. When checking out in the morning noted the keycard issue which staff was very dismissive of me being locked out and them not answering their phone saying yeah they deactivate then with a list of items that will deactivate them such as phone, credit cards, etc. The keycards I had always kept in a separate pocket from those items as when checking in they mentioned to not keep by wallet or phone. Continental breakfast is subpar in comparison to the other hotels of a similar price point. Free parking with a parking lot is nice.

This was totally my mistake. I had set my mind up to not bike that day once I realized the error However Lara was so gracious and kind about my mistake. She immediately walked me over to the office and started trying to figure out what else we could do. She really want the extra mile and ended up coordinating bikes from the hotel, recommending a route since now we wouldn't have a guide, and offering to drive us up if we weren't able to catch the shuttle. There's no place I will rent a bike in Bend besides here thank you Cog Wild.

The cabins are spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with thoughtful, high-end touches. We always try to book one along the edge of the property facing the trees, and the views never disappoint. Waking up to a forest instead of a parking lot is hard to beat. The bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom is better than most luxury hotels, with a separate water closet, a large shower, and a deep soaking tub that fills from the ceiling. Beyond the cabins, the entire property is designed for relaxation. There are walking trails throughout, a welcoming lodge with plenty of space to gather, a well-maintained pool, and extensive grounds that encourage you to slow down and enjoy the surroundings. One of our favorite things about FivePine is its location. It's an easy walk into downtown Sisters, which meant we could start our mornings with a stroll to Sisters Coffee and a visit to the local bookstore before heading back to enjoy the rest of the property. The lodge also has restaurants, a movie theater, and a spa on site, which I've reviewed separately. I could keep describing it, but honestly, the photos tell the story better than I can. If you're looking for a place to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with nature without sacrificing comfort, FivePine is a wonderful choice. Will we be back? Absolutely. The washroom ares is good although could use a bit of a larger counter space and a hook for toiletry bags. The bathroom/ restroom is crowded. There again is very little space between the toilet and door. Kudos, to housekeeping. The room was spotless with plenty of towels, washcloths, paper towels etc. thank you for doing a wonderful job most don't take into consideration.

The employees at the front desk are fine, the "concierge" is still just for trying to pressure you into an even more high pressure timeshare sales presentation (after our HORRIBLE experience with WorldMark/Wyndham San Diego - NEVER AGAIN), and the location is decent but don't even consider staying here unless they completely remodel all these old buildings and change ownership from Wyndham to literally anyone else. Groundskeeping staff is WONDERFUL though and really do the best they can with clearly limited support. Pool and lawn looks great!

Woo-hoo! What a hoot! Spent a weekend in Bend with friends, g/f suggested that we take a ride…read morewith Outriders. Although a bit cautious, it sounded like fun and we signed up. Interestingly, our friends had tried to sign up the next morning but were told that "they'd see what they could do" because apparently Outriders only runs a limited number of 4x4's per trip. But, we found out later that day that they'd added one vehicle to the run and we were all good to go. Launch point was about a 15 minute drive from our friends in S. Bend. Just a turnoff on a forest trail off of the road, we spotted our guide and vehicles and got situated. Helmets were fitted, and we were given a clean set of instructions from Jason, our guide. And off we went. We'd signed up for the two-hour run and honestly, about 15 minutes in, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it. It was a bit of a ride, even given the soft suspension of the 4x4's. However, it's hard to deny the beauty of the surroundings and the smiles on our faces. We got up to the top of a bluff whose same I don't recall - Sugar Bluff, maybe? - and stopped for a bit. Jason gave us a status check and a bit of history and geography info. He's very informative, and easy to talk to, very willing to answer questions. From there we headed through the forest to our next stop, some lava fields. Again, a bit of history, very informational about the age of the rocks, and some interesting facts about plant growth in relating to the lava rocks age. All in all, this was a heck of a ride. Up and down, bouncing all around, noisy, only a bit of dust (we were lucky that day so be forewarned if you do this during a dry spell). There are other options available, we're seriously considering one of them for our next trip to Bend. Don't forget to tip your guide!

It has 2 pools with a hot tub and fire pits. It also offers a decent little gym and a restaurant. Don't forget about the best part of all the river runs through the lodge itself.

I contacted the hotel to make sure they would send a shuttle to pick us up at Redmond airport. The response back was: Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have airport transportation available this evening and would encourage utilizing ride share such as Uber or Lyft. - Kristen We arrived at 11:30pm at night and paid $70 for an uber to the lodge. Once there, the man at the main desk said that the first shuttle is at 10:30pm and is usually full because it's for airline stewards. Then he gave us a map and directions to go to our room, Room 4004 in building A. We walked to building A, didn't find out room, and then walked around for another 30 minutes at 1am exhausted. We finally determined there was no room number 4004. This was a farce. We walked back to the reception and he said that the system said there was a room 4004 but apparently there wasn't. He said the lodge was almost completely booked. Our options were a lackluster room with a view of a dirt hill down to the pool or a room with bunk beds. We chose the dirt hill. We will definitely never come back here and hopefully be able to find another hotel tomorrow.
