I ran over to her house and frankly called the first 24/7 vet that came up on my Yelp search. In hindsight the fact that it was rated so low didn't even cross my mind. My call was answered on the second ring! The person who answered was calm, so clearly spoken and very helpful. Their name was Allysa. They took the time to listen to my panicked story and genuinely offered me some insight on next steps. She let me know that I would need to call pet poison control and that even if we didn't, they would be called once we arrived at the hospital-therefore we would be saving precious time by calling right away. She gave the phone number and said they would be ready to assist if we came in. And gave some pricing details. Fortunately we didn't end up needing to go into the hospital, but I'm so impressed by the quality of phone service! Thank you for being there for me in a very stressful time!

A friend recommended DAMC when I brought home my golden retriever puppy; she has used this facility for over 10 years, and even when she lived near Bradenton she still made the trips here to have her cats seen for non-emergencies. Now again, I'm a first time pet owner. I tried to educate myself beforehand, but I also acknowledge my ignorance. The vet techs and vets have been incredible in guiding me without feeling like they were just trying to rack up a bill with extras. Now are they the cheapest around? No probably not. But the prices so far are reasonable enough for each situation, so I'm happy with it. They guided me through mandatory vaccines vs. recommended vaccines based on the lifestyle we planned to involve my pup in. They helped set up a clear schedule for her puppy check-ins and her spaying. There was a couple panicky phone calls from me when she vomited the first time and when she was bleeding out of her mouth (the first one was because she ate too much, the second was because she loosing puppy teeth rapidly) and with each call they were able to calm me down, discuss the scenario, and determine if she needed to come in (she didn't either time), no charge. The one time she did need to come in (eye infection) they were able to get me seen within 20 mins of the initial call. And their hours are great! The early morning open time allows me to get in before work no problem. I'm definitely satisfied!

He usually goes in for a bath and nail trim, and each visit leaves his coat clean, well-brushed, and under control. Drop-off and pick-up are straightforward, and they stay close to the estimated timing. The staff handles Maxim appropriately, which is important for a larger, high-energy breed. The shop itself is clean and organized. The location is easy to access, and parking has not been an issue during my visits. It is a convenient setup for routine grooming without unnecessary hassle.

Came to pick up and had an additional $40 charge for mat removal, that was not discussed or called to me. They stated we don't call to alert to additional cost/fees..WHAT? So, no need to address the cost associated to the service, I am just expected to cover no discussion? Please note, if called I would have approved if I understood the need, but while there could be areas to remove it was not anything of known nature or huge impact. Outcome: Poor Communication, Lack of corrective action when concerns presented and up charges for items not discussed. The prices at Animal Hospital of Dunedin are not great, but I decided to make them my primary…read moreveterinary practice because they have Saturday hours. However, they use these hours to be dishonest and overcharge. I brought my dog in for a skin infection a few weeks ago. At this appointment, the vet I saw told me that I needed to update my dog's rabies vaccine too. However, she said that she didn't want to give him the vaccine that day because of the medications he was put on for his skin and because of his infection. The vet said I could have the vaccine administered at my dog's follow up appointment. When scheduling my dog's follow up appointment, I was told that a different vet at the practice would be handling the visit. I was not concerned, as Animal Hospital of Dunedin often changes the vet my pets are assigned to see. I was not warned in any way that this change of staff would adversely affect me by anyone. At my dog's follow up appointment, the vet looked at my dog's skin, teeth, and eye. She also checked his heart rate and gave my dog the vaccine. The appointment took under 5 minutes. However, when I went to the front desk, I found that I was being charged for an annual physical. When I saw the charge for an annual physical, I made the receptionist aware of the mistake. Annuals are $30+ more than regular appointments, and I had already been to Animal Hospital of Dunedin a few weeks prior, not a year prior. The receptionist said that I had to pay for an annual physical, as the vet I saw that day--for five minutes--hadn't seen my dog before. that's their policy. Animal Hospital of Dunedin changes the vet I see every time I come to their practice. I don't request these changes, but they always change the vet anyway. I have no idea how many times Animal Hospital of Dunedin has charged me $30 extra without notification. I only happened to catch the price today... My pets have been patients there for a while and I am not sure if I've ever seen the same vet twice. This behavior is dishonest. Also, I was told that nobody could help me with the price that day, but the manager would call me the following day, Sunday. However, the manager didn't call, so I called them. Next, I was told that the manager never works Sundays. If the manager only works Monday through Friday, that's totally fine. But why lie about it? Also, it's 5 PM on Monday and she still hasn't called. I called again and asked for a copy of my pets' records. I don't tolerate dishonesty.
