Love this place for the 24/7 access! It's nice to be able to pop in and get a quick workout in whenever (the workouts are streaming). The staff and owners are very nice, and the facility is very clean. I love the varied workouts and feeling like I'm getting a way more effective workout in less time thanks to the heat. A few gripes: - People who workout with their friends chat throughout the class and it's incredibly distracting because the sounds carry (even though the saunas don't share walls, they are certainly not soundproof and I can hear everything they're saying in the next sauna) - the workout videos are only from the front view so if you've never done yoga or Pilates it's really hard to know what you're supposed to fully look like in certain positions - on the above note, I don't think I recommend this place for beginners because there's no actual instructor. However if you've done a handful of yoga or Pilates classes, you should be totally fine. I used to do bikram yoga and Pilates regularly so I was ok with the sessions, but my partner had never done either so he was confused by some of the poses. I recently started working out at HOTWORX in Costa Mesa and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and the facility was top-notch and clean. The unique combination of infrared heat and isometric exercises has taken my fitness routine to a whole new level. I used to be a HIIT junkie but as I get older I've found that the combo of work outs in the sauna are more comfortable on my joints. I still get my cardio fix on the custom double handled rowers, they have bikes too. Rowers are my favorite because I not only get the full body rower work out but I also feel like I get a double upper body work out. Additional bonus is that it's open 24 hours! No late fees or cancellation fees if you can't make a class. I feel like it's my own private gym I can utilize whenever it works with my schedule. The atmosphere is motivating and supportive. After more than 2 years of working out at home, I was looking for something different but wasn't fully comfortable joining an indoor gym that had a lot of people. But luckily Hotworx and the announcement of a new location near my house popped up in my Facebook ads and piqued my interest. The idea of doing various workouts beyond yoga in a small infrared sauna was something I had never heard of before and had to try it out. I immediately signed up for a trial run and have been there everyday since its opening. What I love about Hotworx: 1. Affordable pricing. 2. The infrared saunas. Infrared has many health benefits but the high heat forces your body to work in overdrive and to accomplish more in less time. 3. The wide variety of workouts make it difficult to get bored. 4. 24/7 access. I can work out anytime during the day and can choose to have a sauna room to myself. If you decide to try it out for the first time for FREE, here are some recommendations: 1. HYDRATE AND ELECTROLYTES! I highly advise bringing at least one 40 oz hydroflask style bottle for during your workout and a can of coconut water for after your workout. You WILL sweat! 2. Try out as many workouts as you can. In Hotworx, there is what is called a "Bonfire" where you do one of the 30 minute workouts and one of the 15 minute HIIT workouts. My husband and I have been members for just about a year now. The facility is always clean. Erica and the staff are always keeping the equipment, infrared saunas and floors pristine. The workouts can be very challenging ,, especially in the 130° infrared sauna. Days that you're not feeling it, however, you can still benefit from the heat with stretching and cardio. This gym is awesome! The benefits of the Infrared Sauna alone is worth the membership. The classes are great and you can just do your own thing if u want. I come 4-6 days a week because its so quick and the results are AMAZING! The staff is friendly and supportive too. You can't get a gym and sauna membership for the price of just Hotworks. I was contacted when I saw their ad in facebook. I was not sure since they did not open their doors but were seeking membership. Then I got an email that if we want to use the yoga or sauna, we have to buy their mat and towel. I communicated the same day that I changed my mind and will get back to them later. I was told there is no problem and we can refund you but the person added in her text that we have x, Y, Z and was marketing me that if I go, I will lose on such great deals. I responded that I would like the refund and once they open, I will check it out. Then I got the text that the funds are not refundable. This is for $15 refund. Maybe they are using these advance payments to pay for their constructions or their expenses. Here are a copy of our communication because I do not trust these people. They sent an email that while the place is advertised as 24/7 open, they will not have staff except at specific times during office hours. Buyer be aware. read more
