I maintain a monthly membership at my home studio and make it a point to visit other locations when I travel. In almost every city, I've experienced the integrity, kindness, and professionalism that have made Pure Barre a community I truly value. That's why my experience with the Little Rock studio was so jarring and stayed with me. Because of my ADHD and the way I travel, at one point I mistakenly signed up for pure barre monthly memberships in several cities where I don't live (Austin, Oklahoma City, Santa Monica, New York City, Boulder). Every other studio responded with understanding and integrity, immediately correcting the mistake and, in some cases, showing me firsthand how simple it was not to keep charging a client who clearly didn't reside there. But in Little Rock, the owner, unlike the thoughtful women who run the other studios, insisted on continuing to charge me. This was not just a clerical oversight. It was dishonest and exploitative. When a business chooses profit over basic decency, the breach lingers. And this one has. I continue to value Pure Barre as a company and community, but Little Rock stands out as a troubling exception. Allowing such practices to continue damages the brand as a whole.

Great concept and for the most part it is carried out well here. My 2 requests for improvement are: Allow level one classes to incorporate some work with chair, boso ball at least. Some instructors are good at varying the routine but others use the same routine each class especially level one. There is an over emphasis on bridging in the floor or on the reformer neither of which is a good position for people that don't have the limb length to get good extension. Some instructors have you working at the bar or floor for 60-70% of the class (Reformer flow). There are a lot of things we are not using that could be incorporated --stretch bands, foam roller etc.

I will definitely be back! My friend wanted me to go with her, and she booked a private lesson with Matt for the two of us. It was great to get that kind of personal attention, especially since I had never done Pilates (except on a Jennifer Kries VCR tape!). The breathing and the meticulous positioning of your body are so important, and a private session helps you orient yourself and understand a lot more about Pilates. Matt was great. I wasn't sure how much of a workout it would be, but the next day, deep core muscles of mine was stiff, so I knew he had put me through my paces! Another friend of mine suggested I try the reformer classes, too, and I wanted to get on that shiny machine! I took two reformer classes. This apparatus has various tension springs, straps, boxes and props to use to help you get the most out of it. The first class I took was technically an intermediate class with Paula, the owner, but there are only four reformers, so everyone gets personal attention, and I never felt that I was not getting it or that I was holding anyone else up. I had run 20 miles for a marathon training run the day before, and Paula was mindful of that for each set up of the apparatus. I took a beginning reformer class with Nikki more recently, and that was great, too. There was just one other person in the class, and Nikki was very helpful in making sure we both pushed ourselves, but not dangerously. The only issues I have with The Pilates Studio is that you can't drop in and the Web reservations system is a little clunky (I wanted to reserve just one class, not a series, and I couldn't find how much it was on the site). And, the classes are expensive. The semi-private lesson was $45 each, and drop-in reformer classes are $30 each ($200 for a series of eight). I understand why you pay this much: you get tons of personal attention from really knowledgeable teachers, so they couldn't accommodate more "profitable" numbers at lower rates. I will definitely be back: I plan on asking for PIlates for my birthday! I also wanted to note that Paula and all the teachers are great, and the studio is a relaxing oasis. Whenever I've gone, it's been the highlight of my day.

I really love that you can do yoga in a sauna alone or with one other person it's perfect during this whole pandemic situation. They disinfect after each use. I felt extremely comfortable working out here. I like to rate places on whether I would go back...I would get a membership and go all the time if I lived there. One thing that really drew me in was the Women's Only area. I didn't want to workout at my university where I knew everyone who was going to be here, but not only did 10 Fitness provide for me a workout away from my school, it also gave me more privacy through the Women's Only room! I also love the unique addition of the Cinema room! It feels like you're killing two birds with one stone by getting both a workout and being entertained at the same time. The overall atmosphere is great, where you don't feel out of place, it's a naturally inviting environment. The classes are a plus, too. I've only done Pilates, but I hear nothing but good things, and the people who attend the classes are very committed in their attendance. They provide incredible childcare as well, so that you can't make an excuse to not work out because you have to be at home with your kids! Only $10 a month for childcare, a really food deal. They gym stays clean, especially the bathrooms. And on top of all of this, the staff is of course great, with awesome trainers and employees who are ready to not just be part of the staff, but also your friend. Horrible experience with management upon inquiring about surprise charges after I stopped paying…read morefor the membership. I was a member for OVER a year and RARELY used the facility. They do not care about loyalty or their customers! I did not know what I was in a contract with them and after I had stopped paying for their services they took a lump sum payment of $172 out of my account! I asked her to explain and she didn't feel that she's had to because she claimed "it's not her problem that I didn't pay my bills" and offered to only refund 1 month of the services and then took back the offer because she stated that I had an "attitude" and hung up the phone in my face. I then went up to the facility and demanded a refund to which she replied they she would not and cancelled my membership on the spot AFTER collecting a FULL payment for the month of January! She then proceeded to call the police on me. The owner was in the facility and offered to refund January ONLY and then asked me to leave. The police called and told me that I was banned from their Benton and Little Rock locations permanently! They are ALL awful!!! Absolutely awful!
