Just went to Barre 563 for the first time this week! Was back in Iowa visiting family for the…read moreholidays and was thrilled to see we have our first barre studio! The studio is small a small mirrored room with ballet barres on all walls. It is clean and organized, and there is upbeat music playing throughout. It probably fits about ~20 students. They offer several classes a day. I've only taken the barre amped so far - which is a pretty typical barre class. We started with a series of arm exercises (small movements, light weights), moved into thighs/glutes at the barre and then moved to the floor for abs (planks, high curl etc.). At $15 a class, it is reasonable for barre. In LA and Chicago, I've seen barre cost $25 a class. The class flowed well and Sarah strikes a nice balance between instruction and encouragement. Looking forward to trying the barre amped bootcamp!

I am a muscular, in shape woman & my body still convulsizes during the exercises in class. If you want long, lean, toned body this workout is for you. Membership is a little pricey due to the small classes & individualized attention from the instructors however I think it's in line with or cheaper than Barre classes in other markets. Plus, she often runs email deals & promos. The instructors really pay attention to your form & posture offering little modifications & corrections. My only compliant is there is not water fountain to fill up from. Refill your reusable water bottle before you get here because it won't fit under the sink faucet in the bathroom. Overall, a fun workout that compliments my more traditional strength & cardio program.

I go around 4-6 times a week now for hot yoga classes and have taken the majority of their instructors so far. I have never been disappointed by any of them. The studio is exceptionally clean all the time, supplies fully stocked in the bathroom, and instructors are friendly. Each instructor truly has their own style and will challenge you in different ways, so your best bet is to try multiple instructors and see what you like most! They have yoga mats for rental if needed, two showers, a ton of props like blocks, pads, and straps, and even a cute little store area with mugs, shirts, crystals, etc. I have tried three other yoga studios between Clinton, Davenport, and DeWitt and none have lived up to One Tree, especially in the instructor knowledge aspect. My practice has come so far in just a year because the instructors here really pay attention and assist when needed in polite ways. Almost all of them also do a really great job at describing the poses as well so it's easy to feel comfortable even if you're just beginning.

I can say that this IC location is top notch. Maureen and her staff are freaking delightful and the workout itself is addictively not like anything else around town. PLUS, parking is a non-issue. But I don't actually have set in stone time to make it to a gym. (The minute I plan on a 5AM workout is the night my son is in my bed because of a bad dream. So when I attempt to stealthily get out, I of course wake him. And I can't just leave the four year old awake at home?! And how rude would I be to wake up anyone else catching z's?!) Ugh. It's a never ending, maddening problem. ANYWAYS, barre3 has an amazing online membership for a great price! The first two weeks are free. But what I like most is that the classes range from 10 to 60 minutes. They include what equipment you need in the description. I found favorite instructors and have taken all of their classes (multiple time)! Barre3 makes me feel good about myself. And the staff at this location does, too. If you haven't found a workout that is for you yet, try stopping in here!

5 stars for customer service, 5 stars for technical instruction, 5 stars for experience. Emilie scheduled and rescheduled until she built the perfect schedule. Gill is a stickler for form and technique, which helps prevent jury and ensures the client gets the results they are working for. She was able to accommodate the request to not increase arm muscles, shrink waist and tighten up the hips. Gill is also fun and charming. Big thank you to Emilie and Gill. We hope to see you next time we are in town.

The studio is downtown in a little plaza with several other shops, with lots of parking available. The reformers were particularly nice in the room we were in, as there were only 2 so it really felt like you were doing 1:1 training. Judy led our class who was wonderful - I'm so used to doing classes that push you to the breaking point without focusing on form, but Judy was super attentive and helpful which was so appreciated.
