Was here for an extended stay a few years ago with a group of friends. It's a lovely hotel, just a short walk from the hauptbahnhof (train station). They staff are polite, helpful and friendly.
Rooms are small, in the typical European style. Beds are narrow "single" beds that can be pushed together to form a double. There isn't a lot of space for open suitcases in their standard rooms unless you get a single room (which is a lot like a dorm room) or the larger "suite" which has a couch and a sitting area (also his and hers sinks in the bathroom, a stand-up shower and also a bathtub!).
When you check in you are given a hotel "passport" which you show to the desk clerk each time you return to the hotel and they give you back your hotel key. The key is a big heavy metal security key on a heavy key fob so it's not fun to carry around, and this way if you are sharing rooms your roommates know if someone is in the room or not.
The elevator is tiny and slow - but at least there is one. Other than checking in and out with my big luggage, I used the stairs every other time because it wasn't worth waiting for the elevator.
The breakfast here was wonderful. I would stay here if only to have their breakfasts - the hot chocolate is fabulous! read more
