Stayed here a few weeks and have mixed feelings about this place. Stayed a few nights in the white wing and while I had a great view, the room works if you are staying a few nights. Moving to the red wing works better for extended stays since there are one bedrooms. Plus, I think there is AC on this side. No drawers or dressers, so you'll have to hang clothes or use the limited shelves. Bed is kind of nice and since I had a one bedroom, I liked the tvs and the funky lights. Two nice perks is they do stock the mini bar for free and if you get the breakfast package, it's quite good. I've found the restaurants are pretty ok at SI Centrum and priced reasonably considering it's at a hotel. Course, I've been known to grab dinner at the Petit Bistro at the gas station next door. Hertz car rental is also right next door. It's also right at the U stop, which makes it REALLY convenient. There are a few limitations to this hotel. While they have an agreement with Kanto Gym, the hours are limited to 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays. While I had a room key, I didn't realize they needed the sleeve it's in and had to go back to my room before they let me in. Parking is with SI Centrum and costs 16 Euros. What's annoying is that I've gotten charged more for just parking a short period because of their 'packages' that I didn't need.

The hotel is relatively nice and has kind of a trendy feel. There are several restaurants inside that are a decent choice and the morning breakfast, which was included with my reservation, was very good. My Room had a very good view and the place is conveniently located near quite a bit of stuff. The airport is only about a 15 minute drive. I've gotta say though the place gets a 4 star rating and boasts that they had air conditioning which in Stuttgart tends to be a luxury. I found that the air can be more of a suggestion though as I had it maxed out as cold as it would go 24 hours a-day and it never seemed to run. I woke up at 2am and the room was so hot I had to call down and have a fan delivered. A 4star rating should mean near perfection and Dormero is not that level. 3 star for location and effort....but there is work to be done for this to be a 4 star hotel.

Cool new renovations? Check. Double flatscreen TVs? Check. Nifty little iPhone charger on the wall? Check. Condom in the amenities kit? Check. Ambient lighting you can change to five different colours? Check-a-roonie. Room cooked to a toasty 27 degrees celsius (80 farenheit) on check in? You bet. Room temperature climbs to 28 (82) after an hour running air-conditioning? Why, sure! Staff member comes to check to see that I'm not lying? Of course. Return to room three hours later to find temperature still at 28? Naturally. Treated to a little homily on how in Germany that's how air-conditioning is supposed to work, and only some people complain about it? I'm all ears. Ineffective table fan placed in room? Check. Window fixed so that it cannot be opened more than a crack? Check and a half. Temperature in room at 7.30 am? 28 degrees. Discover previous guest's used toiletries in shower stall? Plain to see. Remember how much this room costs? I certainly do. Outraged customer? Quite. THH P.S. The iPhone charger has stopped working.

It was a great hotel in an amazing location however it can get very busy. So finding a restaurant to eat at night could be very challenging. I will say the breakfast is the best hotel breakfast i have ever had. Hands down the best when it comes to the quality of food and services. Check in and check out was very easy which is a plus especially if you have a flight or train to catch.

Feels like the inside of an Ikea...in a fun way.

Highly recommend! I…read morestayed here when I relocated from the USA to work at a nearby military installation. The hotel offers military rates and monthly rates. The front desk staff was kind enough to speak English with me while I learned German. I had a junior suite which has a separate room with a large bed. There is a fold out sofa bed in the main area. There is a small room with kitchen sink, microwave, and refrigerator. If you are hoping for a cooktop or oven there isn't one. The sunset view from the balcony is nice. I brought one cat with me. I did see other guests with dogs. The hotel prepared a litter box, food dishes, and a cat tree for my furry friend! Keep in mind that the hotel asks that your pets be in their travel kennels on cleaning days twice per week. The hotel had recently changed ownership and there was a lot of construction. However, noise was limited to certain hours of the day. Some guest service was affected. For example guest laundry was not available and breakfast had limited space. Breakfast was an extra fee but reasonable and had a good variety of choices. Location is right across the street from Salzäcker U-bahn. From there you can catch the U3 to Möhringen then the U5/6/12 to Stuttgart city center (Charlottenplatz/Schlossplatz/Hauptbahnhof). Grab the VVS app for purchasing ride tickets from your phone. Hotel is walking distance to Kelly Barracks. Several restaurants in the immediate area, two stage theaters, and a cinema. Some of the shopping and dining is a little hidden behind and underneath the Palladium theater. Also there is a carpeted pedestrian tunnel that goes underneath the street and connects the two stage theaters to parking. A little farther out there are more local restaurants. A Kaufland is two stops away on the U3 toward Möhringen for everyday shopping.

A great property to stay in Stuttgart close to the airport. Great hospitality from the staff,…read moreawesome rooms, bar, kitchen that prepare great meals (the choices available for breakfast is great). There are four separate buildings that houses rooms and during inclement weather, you may get wet/cold as you traverse between buildings, just be careful if it's icy, but they do a good job of liberally applying deicer. Just remember, it meets European standards, not US so there is no alarm/clock, and European outlets (so you will need to have adapters). PRO: * Bar - awesome selection made even better by the bartender, Steve who goes out of his way to be hospitable and makes awesome drinks * Property is awesome - bathroom is tiled, and in efficient German manner, the hot water pipes are under them so the floor is warm * Breakfast has a great mix of traditional European fare (cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, bread, muesli) as well as some American style fare (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) and coffee machine that provides various selection from expresso, cappuccino, latte, etc. * Spacious room with a separate living room area, bedroom, kitchen - my suite had three televisions, living room, bedroom, and even the batroom! CON: * No gym on site - you will need to go across the street to the KANTO Medical & Figure Lounge located on the second floor. NOTE: Bring a towel from the hotel or have cash (Euros) on hand or you will not be allowed to work out. The gym is more a "posh" spa/gym with lots of exercise machines and equipment. Work outs may not be the main focus as carpet and not the standard rubberized flooring covers the weight room area. Another limiting factor is that the operating hours is 1000-2200 (10pm). * Parking stalls are a bit tight so be aware - when leaving the garage after hours (early or late), the door will be closed, pull the rope to activate the door to open * The entrance to the property is not via the main road, but via a back entrance that is a bit confusing. Driving to property will take some map skills, or great map app (I used Waze), my colleagues another app - I did not have any issues. A definite property to stay when staying in Stuttgart, especially since its close to the airport.

We went there to get some snacks and something from the salad bar since we were too tired to go out to eat one night. The hotel itself is nice, only the rooms are extremely small. There is not even a language rack in the room. The only place you can put your suitcase is either on the floor or on the small desk. The hotel does not offer washcloths- so you might have to bring your own. The bed was comfortable-firm. The cover is relatively small for 2 people, so you better snuggle up with your partner if you don't want a cold butt at night. As far as pillows: One for each guest. The breakfast was amazing! I loved the variety of cereal, yogurt, German Brötchen and breads. There is plenty for every taste and diet. I would haven given 5 stars if there would have been a sidewalk in front of the hotel. It was under construction. We either had to walk between bobcats and on gravel or take a big loop around the hotel. The hotel does not offer shuttle services but you can schedule a taxi through the front desk to the airport for 10 Euro.

This property has basic amenities - no ironing boards or house phones, or even extra drawers, but I found the room size to be adequate and the design to be just enough to be modern and easily usable. The lobby is very playful in its design and is a fun place to hang out for a bit. There's even a fussball table. You can pick up snacks and coffee in the lobby (a bit expensive), and I did see some yummy food being served in the cafe area. The best feature is the train station is just a 10 minute walk. Easy to get on and get to downtown Stuttgart and other major locations (40 minute commute). The area had several stores nearby to pick up convenience items.

We got our key and the front desk wrote down our room number. She then told me the room number and I told her she said a different number than the one written down. She said the one she told me was right so we took our key and bags and went up to the room. When we opened the room, we found a guy jumping out of the bed, completely shocked. We apologized profusely and backed out. When I went downstairs, the manger came over and asked what happened. I told him and he said that we went to the wrong room. I advised that I understand that but we were told the wrong number. He argued that the right one was written down. I said okay but they key worked for the room she said and he just started getting angry with me and saying it was my fault. But if it was my fault, why did the key work? They were so rude about it. I also put two people on their serration apparently but there was my nephew. I had forgotten to include him and they got rude about it and charged me additional fees for him. I was okay with it. It was a mistake when I was searching for hotels but he was really rude about it. We ended up needing to stay another night and I put all three the second night but when we got to our room still didn't have enough towels so I don't understand it. Also, this is incredibly close to the train. They had the heat on. We could not turn on the A/C so we slept with the window open and the trains were very loud. Overall, just not a great stay. The staff are subpar and act like you are the issue when they create problems. Still don't know how the key working on the wrong room was my fault. Only positives, it looks nice, the shower and shower products were nice. They have complimentary water in the room and a bar downstairs.
