By foot use the stairs next to Hilti Tools on Heilbronner Strasse. Because of the major construction site called Stuttgart 21 it is not easy to get there with your luggage due to the multiple sets of stairs. Take a very short taxi ride if traveling with heavy baggage to help orient yourself. Front desk helpful as they had my Booking.com reservation and no problem checking in and out- and everyone spoke English. Room 56 a single was as promised, clean, had a mini-fridge, wi-fi internet which was down a few times and a decent bed. Building was older with small elevator, opening window and small shower. Housekeeping kept things spotless and was unobtrusive. There are two buildings but I can only comment on mine the secondary Breakfast buffet had soft-boiled eggs, scrambled with bacon or sausage. Yogurts, veggies, fruits, cereals, 6 sorts of lunch meats and multiple chooses of breads and cheeses kept breakfast varied. Free newspapers, and free parking (a rarity in Stuttgart) was nice. On the downside was the street noise and infrequent ambulances since it lies between two hospitals. During the day it is noisy at the Stuttgart 21 site. Also, they asked to keep room key at the desk. Hotel bar was tiny and underwhelming. Location is close to Milaneo a new mall, an Aldi and of course Main Train Station and the Koenigstrasse at 1.2km a great pedestrian zone with shops, pubs, cinema and anything else you could need. I would recommend Hotel Pflieger for location, staff and overall value.

The reason for 4 stars is it was extremely noisy every day, all day. I eventully had to go to another hotel where I had friends staying to be able to sleep then returned to my room during the day. Also the room including bathroom was extremely small not at all the same in the pictures. I was lucky that I could turn in the shower and Im a petite girl, my husband struggled.

When we opened the door to the room we were shocked to find a large white empty room, with one king-sized bed in the corner next to the window. There was no sofa / table for lounging, there was not desk, there was no chair -- not even a telephone in the room. It looked very unpleasant, like a hospital room. There were also no towels in the bathroom. We immediately cancelled. Don't waste your money on the Dormero - there are better options nearby.

The mattresses and blankets on the beds were really comfortable even if they were narrow. Great water pressure in the showers and consistent hot water. The breakfast was basically the same every day but it offered enough variety that I wasn't tired of it after 6 days and the breads were actually very high quality, just as good or better as I've been getting at nice restaurants and bakeries in this region.

Parking is adequate in the back if workers and builders from other businesses aren't blocking the access rd. Unfortunately the pricing is my only complaint. The website advertises a rate of $106. However that rate is based on an occupancy of 1; even though the suite advertises sleeping 5. Each additional person is $10.50. Went ahead and paid it but for the price probably should have done an AirB.nB
