It's very clean and the staff will make everything to make you enjoy your stay. The single rooms are a bit small though and the telephone and the hairdryers are a bit too old. The room itself was large, which surprised me because I was traveling solo. It was clean & quite lovely. Some of the impartial reviews are ridiculous. My room was updated, quiet, & the beds were comfortable. Yes, beds, I had two beds in my room. The breakfast was more than I expected & delicious. I would definitely stay here again. The location is an absolute dream. It's a five minute walk to the underground (tube) & the train station. The underground was difficult because it's not handicapped accessible. If you cross the street to the train station, it's easier to take the tube. So many souvenir shops on each street, which was overwhelming for a shopaholic like me lol. Many good restaurants, markets, & it's 20 minutes by tube or bus to Central London. Seriously, this is a must place to stay. You won't regret it. A word to the wise, invest in a high quality hooded rain poncho & keep it with you 24/7.

In terms of location, there are several shops, restaurants, cafes, laundromats, pharmacies, and grocery stores for convenience. Deepa is just a wonderful caring person and is briliant in how she operates her bed-and-breakfast. She puts out a great spread for breakfast every morning which is delicious, fresh, and scrumptious. Make sure you get one of her special croissants. Rooms are very well cleaned and has all the conveniences you would need which include a comfortable bed, a private bathroom/shower, a TV, and a closet to name a few. There is also a common area on the second floor where you could lounge to relax, use the computer, the kitchen, and mingle with other travelers. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to London. I plan to stay here on my next trip.

I absolutely loved this hotel. From its location to amenities and the wonderful staff. I almost…read moredon't want to review it just to keep people away. First off, the location. It's a 5 minute walk from Paddington Station and The Central Line. You can take the Heathrow Express directly to Paddington station, which is a 15 minute train ride. Considering this was my first solo trip to the UK, the convenience of this was fantastic. Also since it's off the road a bit, there's no noisy road traffic. It's also a short walk to Hyde Park if you're into that and a 10 minute walk to Kensington Palace. It's close to transportation without the noise of transportation! Amenities: I don't know how to describe this place. It's the opposite of modern, but not outdated. Traditional maybe? They ended up placing me in the King Suite, and let me tell you, this made all the difference in the world. So much room, an insanely comfortable 4 post bed. Since the breakfast room is small, you can opt to have your breakfast in your room instead. You just ask for a breakfast card, fill it out, and hang it on the door knob the night before. There's free wi-fi, but you do have to log in every time you use it and the connection can be spotty if you're skyping home. Other basics: minibar fridge, hair dryer, and toiletries. No iron, and nowhere to plug the hair dryer in the bathroom. You're forced to use it over by the desk, where at least there's a mirror. Staff: So great, friendly and accommodating. Things to be aware of. There is room noise. You will probably hear people upstairs flushing a toilet or showering or water gushing through the walls. It's an old building, so be aware of that. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to either pack some earplugs or stay somewhere else. For me, the loveliness of the hotel, location, and staff trump the noise. For a girl who likes to travel alone, this hotel feels like home and I would be happy stay here again.

They helped us with our bags to our room, and informed us of their offerings of afternoon tea and breakfast. The room itself was pretty small, but considering you're in London, that's pretty much the norm. The bathroom was very nice, and everything in the room seemed very fancy. They even had a jar of cookies to welcome us. There was free wifi included in the room rate, which is always a plus. The elevators were significantly on the smaller side, so if you're carrying luggage, you may need to take more than one trip. The service was great, the location was amazing, and the stay was wonderful.

The rooms can be a bit small and there is very little room to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The large bowl-shaped sink takes up most of the counter so you are forced to squeeze in your stuff uber and around the bowl. Sadly, the faucet BARELY makes it over the edge of the bowl so when you wash your hands, water goes everywhere and ends up spreading around the counter and gets your toiletries wet! Ugh!! That one detail is definitely not up to the normal Hotel Indigo standard in my opinion. Whoever designed the bathroom should never be hired again! This should be a 3 star review based on that. But.... The saving grace was the front desk and the maintenance guy. We quickly discovered that our safe didn't work. The front desk got the maintenance guy to our room quickly and he reset it. When we were ready to leave, it failed again so they summoned the maintenance guy again. He reset it but it failed again. So he proceeded to replace the safe. Those things are HEAVY!!! The poor guy had to lug it up from downstairs, unbox it, take out the old one, install the new one and then lug the old one back downstairs!! This guy was sweating profusely but handled everything so professionally. So kudos to him and the front desk for making this happen so quickly, thus the 4 stars!!

I almost feel bad writing this review since the employees here were all courteous, but for the price you pay, this hotel is a bit of a disaster. Other reviewers weren't joking - the hotel rooms here are literally closet sized. I barely fit all my luggage inside. To add insult to injury I was placed in a basement room. It smelled of mildew and the gas pipe right outside my window. The bed was hard as a rock and I woke up with a terribly stiff neck. If I hadn't been so exhausted when I arrived I would have demanded a new room, yet somehow I feel most of the other rooms aren't much better. Thankfully I only had to spend one night here. Doing more than that would likely be impossible, since you would need a serious chiropractic adjustment afterwards. I didn't really believe the bad reviews but I should have. Learn from my mistake!

We were on the 4th floor and there was no elevator, and the stairs were EXTREMELY steep and narrow (it was a pain to carry luggage upstairs). I do not recommend using the shower as there is mold in the shower everywhere, I thought I was gonna catch a disease. Definitely the worst hotel I have stayed at. There are marks all over the walls and chips in the paint everywhere. There was also sticky dirt on the walls. The bathroom was really crammed as my sister is 5'3 and when using the restroom her legs were touching the sink! In summary, don't stay at the dolphin hotel unless you want to feel like your staying in an old dollhouse that belongs to a sticky three year old.

I was on the top floor on the front window side. The room is relatively small but I was in London for business. I just slept and watched tv mostly. Water pressure is kind of week. But you can watch the tv from your bathroom. Which was fun! For young person it was perfect. Breakfast is included, I had the deluxe deal. I got deluxe on my last day only because I didn't really know who to ask for it. Cleaning ladies were swell. I didn't get my room cleaned regularly maybe like twice. I was in it during the rounds and kept it clean myself, but they did provide me with loads of tea. In fact, I asked for a small packet and the lady was like, "Here take this whole bit." I was soooooo tickled. I loved the tea they provided. DH literally was my home away from home. I miss it from time to time! Bring your own pillow tho. The mattress is a bit lumpy. It's literally 5 mins or less walking distance from a chip shop, Paddington Station, a bus, Pret, and a Tesco express 24 hr. I plan on staying here again next year, real treat. May upgrade to a suite. Not a five star due to paying for wifi. Really guys, what's with that.
