As I write this, the actual hotel rooms are currently undergoing extensive renovations, so may have limited availability for booking. That being said, this is THE landmark building in State College directly across from the PSU campus main gate. Entertainment and dining options are many including The Corner Room family restaurant (soon to celebrate their 100th anniversary opened in 1926), Bill Pickle's Pub (sports bar), Zeno's craft beer pub, The Basement night club, and The Allen Street Grill (second floor with great views) "fine dining," one of - if not the top restaurant in town. Something for everyone, young and old, parents and students. Yes, I am a regular and a big fan.

My very low score of 2 stars is leaning towards 1 star but the very kind maintenance man who visited our room kept it at a 2. No air conditioning, 3 calls to the front desk over the course of 3 to 4 hours, end result the front desk suggested we open the window. The window did open about 6 inches and did not have a screen. Let's wait and see what kind of bugs we wake up to in the morning. I will edit or add to my review after we check out tomorrow and let, can't wait to see what management does with this.

We had a door that was basically to the entrance. We had to keep the blackout shade down the whole time instead of having a window we could look out of sometimes. The lights in the bathroom were crazy bright with no other option and came on with a sensor you could not turn off. Our second night, the sensor must have been tripped by people walking too close to our door (they went on as soon as you entered the room), since the lights went on without either of us getting out of bed twice. This woke me up and disturbed our sleep. Very annoying. Lionne's food was great, but the service was definitely not very good. Friendly, but not good - especially for breakfast. You pay for parking too. They charge you per night and give you two tickets to get out. You have to pay any other time. They did charge slightly less than you'd pay otherwise, but not much. If not walking to your events on campus, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

I really like this hotel. It's a little boutique style hotel run by Hilton. The only thing negative I have to say is that the quick service drinks in the restaurant are a tad bit overpriced, but it's a hotel so you can always expect a little bit more money. There's plenty of places around if you want to go to the store. Oh, and the bed is comfortable so far we'll see how I feel at the end of the week. And the coolest thing the room keys are old student ID from Penn State.

Having stayed at many Hiltons, this was incredibly disappointing. Outside of front desk team…read moremembers being friendly, the overall experience has been well below general expectations for a Hilton - and even basic expectations of any hotel! Some serious concerns about this hotel: 1- First night the air conditioning would not work. It was uncomfortably hot in the room. Called the front desk and the person said no one was around to help - so "just open a window." We did, and had an evening with an open window with no screen. Luckily no daredevil squirrels climbed in and no birds - or bats - chose to invade our space! 2- After three days - there had been no room service. No fresh towels - no emptying of trash - and no replacement of toilet paper. This was after I was leaving the room one day and "room service" was at the door and, in a somewhat rude manner, asked: "Do you want room service?" I said - "oh yes - thank you - I was just leaving." She appeared to go into the room - but I have no idea what she did as, again, no towels were changed out, trash was still in the trash cans, and beds were not made. 3- We ran out of toilet paper, so we asked for some - and then went out. I have included a picture of what we found upon our return - toilet paper left outside of the room - not even brought into the room and put on the roller. 4- An unexplained charge appeared on my card from the hotel - at 11:11 PM when the whole family was in bed. I inquired on this, and as of this time, no one at the hotel can figure out what was charged - still waiting on that to hopefully be explained and, if in error, resolved. 5- The treadmill in the gym has been broken and out of order - as such, I had to go to Planet Fitness. Yet, we have been charged a $10/day "resort fee." This is NOT a resort - and am entirely unclear what this $10 a day charge is going toward. 6- While hot water worked in the morning - by 9:00 PM we did not have any hot water. I called and the person at the front desk said "oh, just keep the water running - it has to come from the other side of the building so it takes awhile to heat up." Uhm, we left it running for about 10 minutes - just cold water. I am unsure how this hotel was allowed to have the Hilton name. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again.

Also only ice machine is located on first floor. Bathroom was just fine with ample storage, good water pressure but no fan. Be advised a very small unloading/parking lot is right next to the building...cannot do it on street. Parking is in nearby deck which I did not use. Overall, while not inexpensive, location and overall atmosphere makes this an excellent location to stay.

Worked great. Michael, on check-in, was one of the best reception/customer service people I've encountered, and I stay at a lot of hotels. Room was 2 queens and well appointed. This hotel is convenient for being downtown. For me visiting campus, I could have been at any hotel as I had to drive to campus anyway. One thing-Thursday night was my stay, at 1-2am, the bar crowds poured into the streets and namely the kabob food truck adjacent parking and hotel and it's noticeable!
