Great room

We got to stay in room 103...what an honor! Spacious comfortable room...then they had to move us... smaller room still comfortable Hotel is easy walk to wherever Two pools Good prices Our room is from 1777 so the ambiance is genuine Manager Larry is the best!

We had a lovely stay. Our online booking price was very reasonable, the staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was clean. The room wasn't large by any stretch but it worked well for us. Earplugs are always a must for me so I'm not sure how much sound travelled through the walls, but with the light earplugs, I was fine. The ambiance is so quaint and I absolutely love all the homages to Jazz history. The pools were clean and conveniently located in the courtyards. I appreciated the hours for the coffee service as well. Sometimes other hotels end coffee service earlier but I appreciated refills through noon. Overall, I would come back again without thinking twice.

We stayed here two nights and really enjoyed this historic hotel. We were on motorcycles and they do charge for parking $25/day but unlike with the cars, they don't have anyone who can park your bike for you so you'll have to wait for the front desk staff to walk down and open the garage for you to park or to retrieve your bike. They did let us double stack the bikes into one spot so we didn't have to pay for two spots. I really enjoyed the pool. N'awlins is so dang hot, it's a heat unlike the southern heat we get in North Carolina...it's on another level entirely...just sucks the life out of you. I was really thankful for the 82º pool that was perfect to cool off mid day after being out walking around. The room we got was very tiny but comfortable, clean, and cozy. We had everything we needed, a fridge, cold AC, a king bed and two night stands as well as a dresser and closet. The light in our bathroom would randomly turn off while you were in the shower so we'd just leave the door open. The main door had a huge light and air gap you could see...we were here during moderate temps that might be a problem if it's over 100º. Also, there was a light outside our door that you couldn't turn off and without blackout curtains, it shined brightly into our room all night. We tried blocking some of it out with a towel. Breakfast is not included but coffee is so I was set. They do have a mini-market for snacks and there are some breakfast places within walking distance. We found this was a nice spot to walk around to Bourbon Street without being so close that you get all the noise, and not too far from the river delta. They have two hotel kitties Nola and Callie. Nola was born there 11 years ago on the property. They leave out food and water for her. Jerks with dogs would let their dogs eat her food by the pool and just laugh about the free meal for their dog. Also, they allow smoking at the pool so that was a bit annoying. I bought the kitties some wet cat food and treats to make up for the dogs eating their food. We didn't have any problems during our stay and loved all the history around the property. We got up early to check out and get on the road before rush hour, the girl at the front desk told us we had to wait 20 minutes to get our bikes out. This compounded the fact that we need a good 10-15 minutes to reload the bikes and strap everything down after unloading them, it was going to make us hit traffic which was what we were trying to avoid. Note: Our friends stayed in a room that the back wall faces the street and they could hear people walking by all night. Ask for a room inside the compound for a little less noise. All in all we enjoyed our stay and the location and we would stay here again.

Dangerous windows

Beware: Unsafe Conditions & Terrible Service These rooms may feel nostalgic, but that's about the only positive thing I can say. The windows are dangerously faulty--a guest in our party was actually injured due to a broken latch. The patio is slanted and unstable, giving the impression it could collapse at any moment. On top of that, the room smelled strongly of mold, making it completely uninhabitable. When we brought these serious concerns to the staff's attention, we were met with apathy. We ended up having to cancel our reservation due to the unsafe conditions and lack of any meaningful assistance. The front desk (and I use that term loosely) showed zero empathy and got an attitude when we asked about a refund. His only response was, "Call Expedia." A few days later, we spoke to a manager who claimed they only charged us a quarter of the original cost and were "monitoring the situation with Expedia"--his words. He then condescendingly explained they had to let the charge go through because they didn't know whether we had really left. Mind you, his own staff had watched us leave with all our luggage. He could've simply checked the room himself. It's clear where the front desk gets their attitude--this manager was dismissive, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. Bottom line: If you value your health, your money, or your peace of mind--do not take a chance on this place.

I will recommend this hotel to my friends who don't have a lot of money to burn and don't expect constant attention. Like me they would be happy with a little refrigerator, microwave and a working air conditioner. A major bonus is the Quarter Grocery across the street with the best rice and beans I ever ate. Get a bottle of red wine there and the dine in front of the pool and enjoy life a while. Stop complaining and have some fun instead. I have read other less favorable reviews and I hope those guests find a very sterile and expensive alternative much closer to noisy Bourbon Street. Please leave Hotel St. Pierre to those who appreciate the laid back life of the French Quarter.

Dirty sheets once we arrived

We booked a 2nd stay here to hangout with friends before our cruise 2025 Absolutely the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Night one we had no heat in the room with a large bug in the tub. I slept in my coat and gloves with temps of 62 in our room. They claimed the pour service was due to resent snow storm, but were not willing to accommodate us to another room or offer any discount. I will attach photos of the sheets and such. If you visit this amazing fun city do not use this hotel.

Perfect. Sheer Perfection. The staff are beautiful kind people. Scott, Brett, Lawrence and Carla were so kind to me and my pup. The room is clean, great bed, great pillows. The ambiance is so special. Coming back for a week or two for certain! Thank you so much Hotel St. Pierre.

Favorite staycation boutique hotel in the French Quarter! Larry at the front desk is super friendly and Kim the housekeeper is so sweet! I l love staying in the French Quarter when I want to use a pool during the summer and also be in walking distance to Bourbon . Cute clean rooms!

Later, I discovered that 100% of the hotel received these wake-up calls. That's pretty terrible, especially waking up that early after a night in New Orleans. That's 90% of my complaints about the hotel, but I do have others. The carousel was not working in the Carousel Bar. The hotel room bathroom was very, very small. You could hear a lot of street noise even from the 11th floor. Would I stay at the Hotel Monteleone again? I've stayed there a few times in the past, but I would think three times before staying there again.

Paint in the room was chipping, mattress was stained, but overall these were things we could ignore. However, something we couldn't ignore while using the bathroom in the middle of our first night, was that we found we weren't alone. There were 3+ cockroaches hanging out near the tub and a few scurried away before we could kill/photograph them. The next morning we went to the front desk, got our refund and switched hotels. Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". She wanted us to show her the cockroaches (that we had killed and flushed) and tried telling us she's never seen a cockroach at Hotel Le Marais before, basically calling us liars. Lol, well, here's some pictures to prove it. Let's ask the audience. Positives: The front desk staff was exceptional. Very helpful, very kind and knowledgeable. It's located close to Bourbon and has a nice courtyard. Negatives: ROACHES IN THE ROOMS, confrontational housekeeper, thin walls.

It's in a great location in the heart of the French Quarter. The lobby is quite ornate with lots of seating, a water station with plain ice water and cucumber ice water, and a coffee station just off the lobby. There's a nice pool and the bartender came by regularly to take drink orders. We got two rooms for a one week stay. We had a Deluxe King overlooking the street and other family members stayed in a Grande Two Queens room overlooking the pool. Noise from the street and hallway both can be quite loud, so ear plugs are a must, especially if you're on the 2nd floor as we were. The first floor bar can get very loud and we were right over it. Our king bed was too soft and sagged on sides where people have slept most. Pillows are way too big so I used a rolled up towel as a neck pillow instead. The TV is big but not a smart TV so we couldn't sign into streaming services. WiFi is free and strong. There is no comfortable chair in either room. Small loveseat at the foot of our bed is uncomfortable and too close to the tv to use. Other room had a better sofa an appropriate distance from the tv. We have a small end table but no large table or desk. Coffee maker and fridge in the rooms but no microwave. Everything feels very clean. Our closet door was stuck and wouldn't slide closed, making it difficult to access the safe on the other side. Same in second room. What are the odds? Bathroom makeup mirror light doesn't turn on. Same in the second room. Guess the odds are good. In our bathroom the very loud exhaust fan turns on randomly all day and night. Second room exhaust fan doesn't work - switch was broken off, so they didn't have that annoyance. Not many outlets in the room, not enough conveniently placed, and some were old and loose, so an apple charger was too heavy to stay plugged in. Lots of lovely design elements from old architecture throughout the hotel that you don't see in newer buildings, like the large half circle window in our room. Our window shutters don't close completely so the room is bright all night long from street lights A great shower with a double shower head and water comes out both at the same time. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Towels are soft. We tried to eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant, but the sign says to wait to be seated so we stood there with lots of empty tables visible and servers visible, but they ignored us and the other people waiting. Eventually we all left and got breakfast elsewhere. This place is clean, historic, and in the perfect location. It's too bad they're not maintaining the rooms better for guest comfort. With the right management, they could easily turn this into a five star hotel. Such a pity.

We were helped quickly upon check-in and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Every time we contacted or interacted with any staff, they greeted us quickly and always acknowledged our presence. Didn't see a single staff member on their phone. They were always willing to help. Room was nice and spacious for this price point. We stayed on Monday through Wednesday during the week and late October. I was honestly surprised at a base rate of $140 per night. Almost unheard of these days unless you are in a rural area. I was given an upgrade to a larger room based on status, but unfortunately it just overlooked the parking garage. I was told that they do not do complementary upgrades to balcony/bourbon street rooms, but unfortunately this property does not give you the option to use suite night award upgrades. Mariott platinum status members and higher can get free continental breakfast in the restaurant. It's not a buffet, it's a sitdown restaurant. But it was a good amount of food and gratuity is included, which is nice. There are food options available for purchase as well as alcoholic beverages. The bar/restaurant for the evening is nothing to write home about, just has some simple bar food. But it's nice to have that available. However, I recommend just walking right outside the hotel to all of the wonderful food in the French Quarter. We had a room at the end of the hall that faced interiorly over the parking garage, but we did still hear some noise from the street. Be prepared if you are a light sleeper, this will likely be a very loud hotel. However, we weren't too bothered by it. They do give you complementary earplugs. Most of the noise came from the person above us who was clunking And walking extremely loudly almost constantly. It sounded like they were constantly dropping things. So not sure what that was about. But our first two nights we didn't get much sleep because of that. Also, the water pressure was terrible in our shower and the water did not get very hot. Overall, a good stay. Would stay here again.

One of the great things is location - it is a very short walk to the crazy of the French Quarter, but a block away - so you have the safety, privacy, and isolation from the party when you need it, you aren't confronted by it as soon as you walk out the door of the hotel, but you are just a short walk around the corner to everything the Quarter and Bourbon Street have to offer. As an historic building, the architecture and aesthetic is much closer to "elegant old New Orleans" than, say, the Four Seasons (very very modern, almost cold presentation) or, for example, the Royal Sonesta which is smack dab in the middle of the crazy. This is the first Ritz Carlton we have been to that we left without ever feeling like wow I love it…read morehere.. and it had nothing to do with the city (cannot wait to return to Nola) and everything to do with the inconsistency in customer service. First, I had notated on our reservation that we were there for my husbands birthday, upon check in we received a quick "happy birthday" after my husband stated we were there for his day. Our room wasn't ready yet, no problem, we returned when it was and while getting the keys we overheard a small group next to us being told they'd get a special surprise for their birthday. The employee who told the group that was the same lady that initially checked us in, she saw we overheard and at that point offered my husband a gift from the little store. That was nice, and that was it for the remainder of our stay. Our executive suite was nice, smelled a bit wet/mildew upon first entering but it either went away or I got used to it. The rooms can definitely use some small updates like refreshing the grout; cleaning the couch; adding the shampoo/conditioner/wash to the shower rather than on the separate bathtubs ledge. After unpacking we went down to Davenport lounge and sat at the bar. Frankie was the bartender and the reason we didn't want to try anything else in the hotel. I ordered a cocktail with vsop, he poured VS in his shaker, when I got his attention and told him he said "it is vsop", I said no it is not.. and instead of double checking the bottle he just returned to one of the back shelves of the liquor bottles, instead of acknowledging or apologizing for the mix up, he just poured the vs down the sink and said "let me see if we have it". He walked to the back room and came back swiftly with the correct liquor and proceeded to make my drink. His behavior in this situation really caught me by surprise because I have never encountered such a negative experience at a Ritz location. I did text my experience to the staff and got a cookie cutter apology, not even making me feel like the situation would be brought to Frankie's attention. On our second evening there we were walking back in through the doors on canal street, there was one attendant on each side of the doors, the gentleman on the right was pleasant and said welcome back, while the female on the other side seemed bothered to be at work and was tapping her fingernails on the door handle as she held it open for us. That was rather unwelcoming and just unprofessional. Anyhow, the location is perfect if you're looking to be very close to all the action of the city and the building itself is very nice. We encountered the friendliest staff in valet, I wish I got the name of the First Gentleman we encountered as he deserves praise for his excellent service and can teach some of his fellow employees a thing or two. I have been in love with the Ritz Carlton for a while now from experiences at other locations but I can say that after this visit I will book my next Nola stay at the Four Seasons (where I felt welcomed and valued when stopping in for a round at their lounge).
