We came here for a few nights recently and got there right at the absolute BEST time, as the…read moreweather right before our stay was rainy and cold and on our date of departure, it was cloudy and cold.  This hotel is amazing to enjoy during nice, sunny weather!!  Sitting outside overlooking the Grand Canal while enjoying wine, bubbles, cocktails, or even morning breakfast was something we enjoyed multiple times per day!   Since we had never been to Venice we didn't know how to get from the train station to this hotel, but a quick call with the concierge staff helped immensely!  They literally directed us via phone to exactly where to go, which private boat taxi stand to go to.  Once our boat pulled up, they were all waiting outside on the dock for us!  They helped us off the boat, welcomed us to the St Regis, and immediately took our luggage from the boat.  (FYI - Be sure to budget for these private taxis, they're rather expen$ive!  This one from the train station was 88eu.  One from Burano to here is about 170eu, and one from here to the VCE airport is 160eu)   A staff member took us straight to check-in, where a nice young lady immediately checked us in, providing all the necessary information we needed and then a butler took us to our room.  We had a partial Grand Canal view room, which was a slight upgrade from the basic room.  The butler reviewed the entire property with us prior to taking us to the room, such as showing us their bar, restaurant, patio, quiet room, etc.  She then took us to our room which was very nicely furnished.  The bathroom was amazing, spacious, and had heated floors!  The shower was huge, with a seat and large bath sheets in the shower area hanging on towel warmers.  The bed was very comfy and the linens were perfect.   This property is located perfectly to see so much from it as well as be able to walk nearly anywhere on the island in about 20 minutes max.  Of course, they have their private large boat dock on the Grand Canal, where you can get a water taxi to take you anywhere you want also.  All the shopping you might want to do (Prada, Tiffany, Armani, etc) is a very quick few minutes walk away.   The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.  Their concierge service is 24x7 and they are a wealth of information.  They are busy, so fortunately there were always two at the counter, but plenty of others you could talk to if you had a question or a need.  The onsite restaurant and bar were excellent, and there are numerous other dining and drinking options within a short walking distance.   This was an amazing experience, one we'll definitely want to come back and enjoy again!

Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Pretty much every time my wife used the shower, she left 1/2 an inch of water on the floor because the shower glass door isn't practical (you might as well take a shower with no door). I'm not really sure who "engineered" the tub/shower situation but it could be improved. However, the hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and more than willing to make suggestions. The convenience and location of the hotel couldn't be better. We could walk just about anywhere in under 15 minutes (and hopefully not get lost). The place was super clean and inviting. And finally, the free breakfast buffet put this place over the top. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The hotel is on the Grand Canal. There's a gondola station right in front. The main shopping avenue is right in front with all the high end boutiques within a 5 minute walk. Then St. Mark's Square is also within a 5 minute walk. We stayed in a Deluxe room with partial canal view. The room was decorated in traditional Venetian style with antique furniture and marble bathroom. Luxurious, decadent, comfortable and functional. Our room also included breakfast buffet and tea time (on rooftop terrace). Breakfast on the patio on the Grand Canal is the best way to start any day, and the buffet is excellent. But sipping a cup of cappuccino, looking at the Grand Canal is a memory I will always treasure. Tea time on the roof terrace is so relaxing, I have dozed off a few times to the sounds of the city. They serve a selection of sliced meats, cheeses and fruits with teas, coffees or soft drinks. The Concierge service was outstanding! They helped us get around, find places to eat, arranged transportation and even arrange for a tour to Murano! Temperature controls were all digitized. Breakfast was great. I loved the pancakes. The cakes were almost too beautiful to eat. The cappuccino made fresh each day was such a treat. The staff for breakfast was so eager to please. Such a great group. We often asked the front desk to help us make dinner reservations or recommend places to eat and they were always so helpful. They have a back terrace which was cozy and quiet. We sat out there a couple of times and they brought us drinks and chips for snacks. It was on a quiet street (the whole area is mostly quiet) and a ~7min walk to the more bustling areas of Venice. We loved it! I would recommend this property & would definitely stay here again! The staff was also super kind and helpful (directions, recommendations, etc). Some other tips: From the airport we took a water taxi for 15€ each and it took 45 min to get the S'Angelo stop which was then a ~7 minute walk to the lobby! Be mindful there are stairs you must walk up & down (like in most of Venice). You can also get to the Santa Lucia train station from the S'Angelo stop in about 35 minutes! Take the 1 line towards Rialto. ask if you need help at the stop, captains were very friendly! Overall, during our 3 day stay we walked pretty much everywhere! We did not have the apartment that everyone else has raved about. We got a cramped room on the first floor that smelled strongly of mildew. Our allergies were out of control. The room had a large bed and a tiny desk with a mini fridge hidden inside.The fridge would get incredibly hot in that tiny cabinet. There was no where to put our luggage, as the top of the desk was barely big enough to support the carry on. We were able to check in early, and went out to grab a snack. When we came back, maybe an hour later, the maid had been in our room and opened the windows. Besides being a safety concern, this let in a swarm of mosquitos that we battled for our entire stay. Each time we left, the AC would turn completely off and we would come back to a hot box swamp. I'm adding a star for the breakfast, which was out of this world. By far, it was the best breakfast we had in Italy, with countless options.

The front desk is extremely helpful, they go above and beyond to help. I had an issue with a water taxi reservation and they went out of their way to help even tho they got no money out of it. They even had to search online for the correct numbers for me. They were just simply nice enough to make calls for me because they speak italian and all i can say is Grazie lol. Breakfast was included in our room rate and its a very large spread, complete with a make your own pancake machine. We ended every night in the hotel bar. Its a cozy place that is very welcoming. One night we were walking back to the hotel and heard the most beautiful music and singer. When we got closer we noticed it was coming from our hotel bar! Such a wonderful experience.
