I felt like I paid a hefty price for an average hotel. When booking online, I thought I found a gem of a hotel simply because it was located on the canal- however, once you visit you will see SEVERAL hotels are located right on the water. On a positive note, there is a vaporetto stop RIGHT outside the hotel (as well as a gondola service). And it is located right next door to St. Mark's Square!! We had a balcony (that I requested 6 months in advance- that they cannot guarantee you), so we lucked out. The view off of our terrace of the water, the shops, the gondolas, the city artists (painting and selling their works of art), and just the hustle and bustle of Venice, was brilliant. The room itself was really nice- wood beams lined the ceilings of the bedroom and the bathroom, the bed was comfy, and the terrace was SMALL but cute. However, like everywhere in Venice, the bathroom smelled due to the standing water in the city. I was also disappointed that the water in the shower didn't get very hot, nor did it have high water pressure. The service for the hotel was good, BUT the service at the restaurant downstairs was awful. We sat down for +15 minutes, never saw 1 waiter, and eventually left. Huge letdown as far as the restaurant goes- I would avoid going there (not worth the 10% off if you can't even order food).

Our first time at Hotel Savoia & Jolanda & venice Italy . Our amazing travel agent Maral T. Nazaian @Travel-store Pasadena, CA USA , made amazing recommendations & location location location & with the best view. On our first day Peri at reception desk helped us check in and made great recommendations for our lunch & dinner. Hans helped us with private water boat rides to Murano & Armenia Island San Lazzaro it was absolutely beautiful & Hans went out of his way to make sure we were able to get the boat. Hans even went outside to get the boat driver and it was a perfect day. Massimo & Mattia were very very helpful and informative, helped us with all our questions and made great recommendations. We absolutely loved our rooms 402 & 404. What a beautiful city

After an 8-hour train ride from Naples and a cold ferry ride to the hotel, my husband and I finally arrived to Hotel Savoia & Jolanda. Considering it was a last-minute booking through Expeida, it was overall a lovely place; beautiful waterfront views and a short distance to St. Marks Square. Our experience: After checking in and getting into our elegant gold toned small room (with no amazing view), we discovered poop marks in the toilet. My husband called the front desk to see if someone could clean up and instead, someone quickly came over and took us to another room and gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne. *THANKS* Unfortunately the new room was smaller in size than the previous one but it had a better/larger bathroom (shower) and a small balcony that opened up to a church. Rooms here seem to be a hit or miss and for a view of the canal expect to pay much more. Both rooms were in another building not attached to the front desk/restaurant, however, this building had its own charming front desk lobby area and a neat lounge area upstairs too. When it came to using my flat iron and charging our phones, the bathroom plug didn't work for a reason that escapes me, so we unplugged the tv and used that outlet for everything. What I remember about breakfast at the restaurant was... it was included in our room and it was plentiful. Besides the usual coffee/juice and tons of fancy pastries, the buffet served eggs, some kind of breakfast ham or sausage, and a beautiful charcuterie display. The service lacked smiles and coffee refills but the restaurant itself was very comfortable. Wish we could have stayed here longer.

We've been in Italy for 3 weeks, and this has been the worst service the whole time. By far!!! The waiter asked if we were staying at the hotel, and acted like he wasn't happy that we were not, but said it was fine. Then, he didn't take our order for 15 mins. Then, we asked for water, and he gave us a 1 liter bottle and 1 glass for the 2 of us. And as of right now we've asked for the check and it's been 10 mins without a check... still waiting for the check after asking twice... 20 mins... There is a great view of the water, but I'd recommend going somewhere else.

Walking distance from everything you want in Venice. They gave us a free bottle of Bellini when we checked in. Great breakfast buffet right on the water, that was included with our room for being Marriott elite members. This has to be one of the nicest best hotels in Venice. The only somewhat downside is that because this is such a nice hotel, room service and the food options at the hotel are completely overpriced. But that's the case almost everything in Venice from what we saw. If there was some more reasonable food and beverage options at this hotel i would have given it 5 stars

Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.
