This place is cool!!…read more It is an adult only hotel and is quieter for it. The staff are excellent. Parking for a moment that most of them could appear on a catwalk, their attitude to customer service is brilliant. Really polite, appearing to care about you and having pride in the service they deliver. The hotel is very minimalist, glass and white walls. The two pools are lovely as are the grounds. The rooms continue the minimalist, cool white theme and the corridors smell amazing!! Breakfast and evening dinner are both buffet type set ups but with some food cooked to order (eggs in the morning, meat and fish at night). The selection is great and even though a buffet, dishes are prepared with care and attention in small, attractive portions. For breakfast there is a good range of healthy food and in the evening there is always an excellent range of meats and seafood. The hotel is located just off the seafront, circa 200m away from the sand. Both the hotel and the beach are easy to find. Great for cyclists they have a bike store, covered bike stands and tools/pumps for guests to use. The downsides ... It is so cool and trendy I feel out of place!! (Joke) Parking is free but you have to stump up a 25euro deposit for the entry fob. A towel for the pool requires a 10 euro deposit (You have my credit card details to Bill me if I run off with your fob and towel!!) The mini bar in the room is empty (well it is once you drink the two small bottles of water which then don't get replenished). Speak Spanish to the staff and get spoken to back in English ... Sigh But the negatives don't detract much. I'll be a return visitor ....

First off, I have to say that my wife and I were quite literally the first, and only Americans to…read morestay at this hotel! Nearly every interaction with hotel staff included some form of shock, followed by explanations of how we even found this hotel in America! Mallorca, and especially the east side of the island, is heavily German with a small sprinkling of British. Nearly everything about this hotel is amazing. The rooms are big, the balconies are awesome, the breakfast and dinner service is sublime, and the pool is about as kick ass as a pool can get (though a water slide can always improve things. : D). Unfortunately, I cannot support the beds. They are the equivalent of sleeping on wooden boards. Rock hard with the lowest quality sheets possible. That said, I can't place the blame squarely on this hotel, since poor beds seem to be a common theme throughout all of Europe. They really don't know what a comfortable bed is, the way we do here in the US. We actually had to take the thick blankets from the closet, lay them on the bed and cover them with the sheets to try adding a slight layer of softness to our bed. The other thing that I have to mention is the air conditioning. Or lack thereof. Most hotels in Europe require you to insert your room key into a slot to activate the lighting and air conditioning. As such, as soon as you arrive, you walk into a sauna. It literally took nearly 24 hours to cool down the room. And even then it was just so/so. We had to leave the air on for our entire 5 day stay, even while we were out so it would stay cool. No good. WIFI was spotty at best, and only worked in the lobby (no option to pay for in-room wifi). We ended up just using the hotel's computer room (1 Euro=10 minutes) whenever we wanted to check in. Other than that, fantastic hotel. Since this was an all inclusive resort, it reminded me a lot of the cruise we took last year. Breakfast and dinner are served at the same times each day, you start to see familiar faces throughout the hotel grounds, and they have events every day ranging from pool aerobics and tennis lessons, to nightly entertainment. I would definitely stay again, if they can fix the air problem (I know the bed thing may never change. Damn it, Europe...)

Cas X'orc is a local Finca (or hacienda or plantation) that is located at the top of the mountain and overlooks the valley below. The views here are incredible!! We made a reservation at their restaurant, which is a converted olive oil mill. The restaurant is so quaint and when you walk in they had a roaring fire going (this was during the fall - I'm sure that would not happen during the summer months!). WHAT WE ORDERED: Assortment of homemade breads: This fabulous assortment of homemade breads, including sourdough - my fav! This was served with an herb butter, aioli, and fresh hummus. Don't forget about their fresh homemade olive oil! Mughal chicken korma served with Pappadum and spicy rice: This delicious dish was the perfect medley of chicken tikka masala with a Mediterranean flare. Carob Waffle, Almond Ice Cream and "Palo" Sauce: If you're ordering dessert, might as well go all out and get the coffee too! Please don't be like my husband though and stay up all night when you have a 6 am flight..lmao. This is also posted on my website where I do foodie blog posts and travel itineraries. I stayed for two nights and ate at the hotel for breakfast and dinner each day. Absolutely stunning…read morehotel and location. I loved meeting the donkeys and sheep during my walk along the gardens and adored the authentic, yet chic old-world farm feel. If you are very disturbed by a faint farm smell, this might not be the place for you. The staff were incredibly nice, welcoming and accommodating to me. They spoke English very well and answered emails promptly. They also arranged high-quality transfers to and from the airport making travel a breeze. The dinners were pricey but top quality. They even catered to my gluten-free needs and always brought a warm piece of gluten-free bread to my table without me having to ask. The hiking trails are world-class, easy to find from the hotel and well-marked. Only a 1.5 hour hike down to the ocean. It was heaven. My only complaint that necessitates 4 stars instead of 5 was that the room was VERY noisy at night. Granted I go to bed earlier than most Europeans (10pm) but my "superior" room (one upgrade from standard) was right above the main entrance and restaurant and also faced the kitchen. The windows were thin and must have zero noise barriers as I could hear everything outside as if it was happening inside my room including clanging plates and kitchen noise. Although I thought it was cute and charming that the sheep somehow ended up causing a ruckus outside my window the first night, I was less impressed to hear the noisy large groups of restaurant guests talking and laughing in the lobby beyond midnight. I actually had to use my earplugs just to dampen the noise enough to sleep. If you decide to stay, request one of the rooms at the back or one of the private garden cottages - this should ensure a much more tranquil experience.

Hotel Ciutat Jardi manages to be grand, opulent, and homely all at the same time. We stayed for a…read moreweek and we felt welcomed the moment we walked through the wrought iron gate. The quietly efficient service was of consistently high standard and the staff treated us like "guests" instead of "customers." Firstly, the hotel consists of only 20 rooms, something to keep in mind when planning a holiday there. The hotel was meticulous in it's appearance and the area it's located in more residential than the touristy parts of Palma. Our sea room was well furnished wiv lots of wardrobe space, great for the girls. I just basically need a drawer, and I'm quite content. The shower in the bathroom along wiv the jucuzzi tub added some a really nice touch to our room, The rooms in general are certainly not large, their just the perfect size. . Some of the restaurants on the island are virtually on your doorstep if you don't want the bother of going into Palma constantly. You can walk to Poritxol, a very trending, upscale area, within about 15 minutes, where there's a nice selection of bars and restaurants. There's some amazing restaurants serving incredible fresh seafood, within metres of the hotel. Fusion was a restaurant the we frequented alot over our stay there. There's also a pretty cool club, wiv some wicked fun atmosphere called Forvm, which was a fun spot to hang out. I even tried me skills at DJaying, what fun that was (see foto). Although the music I was trying to mix was mostly in Spanish, so that certainly turned out quite hilariously to the locals. Hotel Ciutat provides toiletries, bath robes, and slippers, although me never leave home wivout me flip flops, although, I thought the pink or fuschia slippers were more suited for the girls. We ended up actually getting two rooms because there were seven of us. The rooms come wiv double beds, but it's kinda hard to cram more than two people in one bed, it was fun trying. The patio doors in the room lead to a small sun terrace that was furnished wiv a table and chairs. It was an absolutely wonderful spot to just kick back and chill, while looking out over the beautiful ocean views. The hotel has a beautiful garden where we were able to kick back and check out the ocean views and beaches, while relaxing on lounge chairs, and getting plastered wiv all sorts of killa drinks. The more you drink, the more beautiful everything and everybody looks :P Hotel Ciutat Jardi is about 10 minutes from the airport by car. It's nice that it was close, but the noise from the planes constantly flying over can become a wee bit of an annoyance, so jus drink more, the noise will eventually go away :D The hotel is well located for a beach holiday and within walking distance to the centre of Palma along the beach promenade. Well this obviously meant one thing, shopping. Time for the ladies to have at it, go spend money on a bunch of crap, in which will inevitably have to buy extra suitcases for, in order in bring all this shit back home. It never fails! For you shopaholics, the stores literally go on forever, so prepare to spend several days jus shopping. However, the Palma shopping district was truly amazing wiv alot of small shops and boutiques, and some really upscale, high end stores. So whatever your budget is, there's definitely something for you. Although, I didn't have a bloody clue what the budget was after seeing the dozens of bags of merchandise the girls had. Obviously, if there was a budget, they completely blew it out of the water. Well, time to buy a few more suitcases. There were frequent buses going to the centre and the hotel offered us the use of bicycles, at no additional charge, nice amenity. Obviously when in Palma, the beaches are an absolute must. The waters were warm and absolutely beautifully clean. However, during the high time, the beaches do get obviously crowded, so prepare to fight for a spot :) There's definitely alot of beachfront for all, jus have to look and find the perfect spot. Another absolute sight that must be seen is the La Catedral de Mallorca (in English, Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma, or also referred to as Le Seu). What an absolute magnificent sight. This place is wicked large. It's a Gothic-Style Roman Catholic Church, truly one of the most amazing sights I've seen (see fotos). I would highly recommend Hotel Ciutat Jardi if your looking for a more relaxing, less touristy place; but still want easy access to the beach of Palma. Wonderful experience. Cheers!

It is a very beautiful resort. The hotel is located in a beautiful region -- scenic views. It is definitely a 5 star experience all the way. The staff is extremely professional and polite. Will definitely be back. It's expensive but worth every penny! Room tip: Rooms on the top floors are definitely more quiet. Should definitely get a room with an ocean view. You should also get the 45 euro massage/cabana/champagne daily deal early -- they sell out quickly. For 45 euros, you get a private shaded cabana overlooking the ocean, a bottle of champagne, two 15 min messages and a plate of fruits. Excellent value!

La Residencia is a luxurious rustic Mediterranean resort. It's in the slightly-sleepy but incredibly beautiful and charming mountain town of Deia. I ate at La Residencia's Cafe Miro for lunch. Although it was a weekday, it was highly suggested that we make reservations for lunch, and so we did. The experience was positively unforgettable. When we arrived, we were very warmly greeted and taken to our seats. Shortly after, a sommelier greeted us and made some suggestions, though we decided to stick to non-alcoholic beverages for our lunch. Then our server came and provided us with a plethora of information and suggestions. Everyone working here was so nice and professional, the most top-notch service I've ever gotten for lunch. I ordered the grilled angus beef, and my fiance ordered the grilled tuna loin. Both of our dishes were delicious! The house-made cheesecake was suggested to us, and so we ordered it; it was worth it! Light, fluffy, gourmet cheesecake. The views and ambiance were spectacular. Our table overlooked the resort, nestled within the mountains, with a peek of the Mediterranean sea. Definitely the best lunch experience we've ever had!
