Building is very clean and everything in the room worked perfectly (AC, kitchen appliances, hot water). It was also very quiet, I'm a light sleeper and didn't have any issue sleeping through the night. Excellent coffee bar at bottom level. Nearly every morning I would have an espresso and a croissant. Bicycles available at lobby and the Pietra square is a few minute ride which was really great for shopping, eating, and people watching. Lots of cool old buildings, authentic Italy, I love it. Very large keypad-entry storage and bike room with stand and tools for maintenance and bike cases. World class riding for road and mountain from the location regardless of skill level. Excellent staff, very helpful and kind. A fantastic family owned business. Just perfect.

I spent 18 days in the Loano 2 holiday resort with my wife and 3 little kids. Although it's a…read moretypical holiday village for Italian families, we enjoyed every single day spent here and I would recommend it to everybody! The weather wasn't good the first days, so we went for the indoor swimming pool. The food is great and all the people working at the Loano 2 Village are friendly, open and good mood. For the kids it's a paradise. The animators are lovely and really good in finding empathy with the kids (I hate it when they force you to participate to games and dances). You may find more info about our experience reading my blog. The spot is not directly by the seaside. A fee coach service connects with the city centre of Loano every 30 minutes. From there it's a short walk to the beach. The beaches got an excellent infrastructure, like playground, sun chairs and umbrellas, ice shops, restaurants, coffees and other shops.

We had a wonderful time at Grand Hotel Spiaggia. Traveling for business, we booked this hotel off…read moreseason and got a room facing the ocean with a balcony for a good price. What a treat. We spent our evenings on that balcony listening to the ocean and since it was off season, the traffic was calm. Our room had plenty of space, was clean and the bathrooms updated. In usual Italian style, there are no washcloths provided by the establishment but all the usual items like shampoo, etc., were there. Breakfast is the common European cereals, breads, yogurt and fruits plus a few other treats, and was included with our room. The common areas of the hotel were comfortable and service was good. We took a walk up to the next town along the oceanfront pathway which is very cute and 'beach vacation' like, with kids playing in the sand and shops selling hats, sunscreen and towels. There is also a nice train station there in walking distance to the hotel. We had hoped to get back to Grand Hotel Spiaggia again before we leave Europe, but unfortunately were not able to make that happen. Maybe another time on another trip. In the meantime, we have our memories.

Ive stayed during both regimes and it is slowly getting improved now that the chef has full vision for changes. It used to be housing for the higher ups of the church, so the names of the rooms are after said clergymen. It has the charm of old school construction but has some modern touches, a mixup of both. The funicular you take to the top gives a dramatic view of the Bay and the rooms are giving you the same views. It is a quiet partt of the world when you go during the non summer season. a great place to escape the crazy of the world and see the mountains and ocean. Great hospitality from the family owners to boot.
