There's so much to love about this place. I loved that there is an adults only pool complete with plenty of sunbeds and a swim-up pool bar. Children aren't short changed when it comes to swimming facilities and the family swimming pool and area are pretty stunning too. Cocktails and drinks are on the pricey side, but as the entertainment at the piano bar each evening was pretty classy, we didn't mind stumping up a little more for a cocktail or two. The fresh fruit smoothies at the pool bar were just the job for lunchtimes when we were too full from breakfast to eat much, and wanted to save some space for dinner. Drinks in all the bars were accompanied with a bowl of nuts or crisps. We did push the boat out and have a pizza lunch at the al fresco Terrace Bar on one occasion. Its probably the best pizza I've ever had in a hotel. My expectations were well exceeded. The hotel location is just on the edge of Sa Coma with the beach an easy 5 minute stroll, and the beach at Cala Millor about a 20 minute stroll in the other direction. Walking along the roadside paths is safe and easy. Immediately across the road from the hotel is a trail which leads to an old castle on the peninsular between the two resorts. Its a pleasant walk and the views are stunning once you get there. We discovered a cafe alongside the castle which came as a complete surprise. Its as well to take drinks with you in case its shut. We stayed in the most stunning two-roomed junior suite with flat screen tv in both rooms and a fabulous bathroom with deep bathtub and two sinks. Hurray for proper hairdryers! Pool towels were in our room on arrival and there was no deposit or charge for them or for the in-room safe. There was just enough space in the mini bar to store a couple of bottles of water that we replenished daily, and the tea and coffee making facilities were much appreciated. Both our balconies overlooked the gardens, the relatively quiet road and the peninsular nature reserve beyond. It was a pleasant spot to unwind while reading a book, enjoying a cuppa and watching the horse and carriages go back and forth between Sa Coma and Cala Millor. Free wifi was meant to be available throughout the hotel, but in practice it was impossible to log on to it in our room most days even though the signal was strong. I'm guessing the capacity wasn't sufficient for the demand. It was much easier to get a signal at the Piano and Poolside bars and so thats exactly what we did. Just a short stroll away the local bars sold great beer for half the price so we ventured out to them on a regular basis too. While I usually avoid British bars like the plague on holidays it turns out they were the smartest and best bars in the resort and when we visited the staff were all Spanish. The hotel is smart with high-end decor and a relaxed vibe. The staff are sweet and engaging and were always very helpful. The food was attractively presented but didn't always taste as good as it looked, though the fresh fruits, breads and cheeses were always excellent. As a vegetarian I had extra challenges as so many of the dishes were embellished with bits of meat or fish and it wasn't always obvious until I had taken a bite. The main course dishes each evening were rarely suitable for vegetarians so I filled up on side-dishes and salads. This became a little monotonous by day 6 but were were only staying for the week. Meat eaters fared a lot better. Its a five star hotel in almost every way, but I have eaten better in a number of four star hotels. That said, they were in Greece where vegetarians fare better. I would however return to this hotel in a heartbeat and thoroughly recommend it to others. read more

Visiting this hotel was such a great experience. We didn't stay in a room but attended the jazz festival where Ken Ford played. The venue was small and intimate and there wasn't a bad seat in the place. The after party in the piano bar was so fun I was sad to leave. read more

I am back home after my week at this Hotel, and I must say it was a fantastic place to spend 7 days chilling out, eating drinking all I could muster. the weather also stayed good (not one drop of rain). The staff here are very good with the customers & kids, and we had entertainment every night to choose from. I decided to take a trip on one the glass bottom boats for a couple of hours to pass some time, which I enjoyed and didn't even get that "sea sick" feeling. My hotel wasn't far from the beach, so took the odd walk down there and had a paddle, I mean you can't go on holiday and NOT have a paddle!!!! So now I am back, with thoughts of returning pretty soon, maybe not alone this time, I may invite my brother along as he hasn't had a holiday in a long time. A Week was just enough, so roll on my next one in two weeks time. I shall see what I want to do then. read more

Went for the mallorca jazz festival. Says it's a 5 start. In my opinion not quite. The bar menu options were terrible. They need to up their game with such large groups even a special bar menu. The bar tenders were excellent but the food seriously left something to be desired. I checked out the Buffett which seemed to be endless but it didn't have the punch I was looking for so opted for the bar menu. The bar menu was so scarce I ended up just passing on food options all together. It's sad because there was a Dj for the after party and we had no real food choices for late night bites. No sliders, wings soups nothing. I was sorely disappointed. Imagine a room full of about 200 people with nothing but some peanuts an occasional sandwich cold and hard and nothin g else. I'll be back for the jazz festival but not for the food. On a side note the staff was very nice and the grounds were clean. read more

GREAT hotel for the April Smooth Jazz concert! Pools are top notch, buffet is one of the best, and the staff is so welcoming. Had what I would call a junior suite and was very nice, the room was always cleaned by Noon. Suggestion is to order a bottle of the local wine at 12 EU rather than the (small) alcoholic drinks at 8EU+. Only complaint I have is the crappy internet service. Slow, fades in and out , it will piss you off after the slooooooooowwww response. From the airport, plan on an 85 EU trip to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel highly, but plan on crappy Internet. read more

Didn't stay in this hotel - stayed at the sister hotel Protur La Playa Hotel. I did, however, live at the spa at the Protur Biomar- which was definitely a 5-star experience. Excellent, unbelievable and relaxing are just a few words to express how happy I was with the Spa and customer service. The lymphatic drain massage wasn't as effective as I get here in the States. Also, it was the venue for the Smooth Jazz Global Jazz Festival which was amazing in and of itself. Very intimate venue where all the seats were good. The Chill after-parties at the Piano Bar would make New York City blush. The European style food took some adjustment and a lot of explaining to this American...pork and beans for breakfast?! A lot of pork and undercooked bacon, sunny side up eggs, lots of bread, jams, grilled tomatoes, and lots of potatoes. Only thing I did not like is the hotel does not serve water. The "still water" is like drinking flat soda water - ask for "gas" water. European's love Soul Music and know how to party hardy! Big Dog (Rich) was the best D.J. I've heard spin in a good while. Mostly European traveller's on "holiday" while here attending the festival. Friendly for the most part. Good service, clean, comfortable, great views, close to the beach and tourist like shopping. Take a trip to Palma de Mallorca if you want to shop, shop! read more
