This was a great little hotel with ideal location if you're planning to visit the LEGO House. From…read moreour room we could see the LEGO House and its rooftop swings. It is less than a 5 minute walk door to door. I'll separately post more tips on the LEGO House but make sure to book your tickets online and book for the first time slot. You get a discount and can be one of the first people in before it starts to get filled. Back to the hotel - loved the decor. It was very classic Danish and hygge. Also after coming from Copenhagen, it was of great value in my opinion. Breakfast was included with our booking and was delicious! The hotel has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (days and hours open vary by season). It was very cozy and warm. The restaurant had sheepskin on some of the chairs, candles and cut flowers on tables, live plants and decoration on the window sills, and framed poems and sayings on the walls. So very hygge! The hotel has some common areas with a modest assortment of LEGOs, books and board games. There is a fridge and dining table along with gathering areas with sofas and chairs. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms basic but clean and comfortable. There is a little market with a nice assortment of gifts. The hotel is about a 5+ minute walk to the bus stop (Billund Centret). Very convenient if you're taking the bus from Lejle (take bus 43). Lastly, the shower had great water pressure. It was glorious!

Despite some refreshes in the interior over time you can tell it is dated and an older building. We did like the large house like windows in the rooms but the room for 4 people is very crammed with a small bathroom and the bunk bed taking a lot of space. The top bunk does have very shallow railings so my wife and I slept on it worried the kids would roll off. As part of the Lego experience the staff was amazing, super friendly and positive with the kids. They have a booklet at check in with 3 different competitions the kids can do. One of them is building using the free lego bricks in the room and all throughout the property. Every month they have a different theme and you put your build on a shelf in the lobby and see if you won the next day. The two others involve a scavenger hunt looking for different signs and counting different things on proprety. If you win you can choose from some small free sets.

Theme Park hotels are not always 5-star resorts. Legoland in Denmark is the original, and the…read morehotel feels the part... original. There is nothing wrong with that, because it's just where you are going to sleep, and kill a little time. The treasure is Legoland, which is connected to the park, via a overpass/bridge, and down the street, about 10 minutes.. Lego House (aka.. the Logo Experiential Museum). Yes, if you look at Lego House, which was built just a few years ago, then compare with the Hotel Logoland experience, it's not the same, and it's going to downgrade the experience. However, the joy of hotel is that for your kiddo (which is why I went), is that they don't care about the details that adults care about, they just love it's all Lego, and that's why it wins. The rooms are exactly what you expect, Lego themed. They aren't large, at least the one I was in, but every detail about the room, feels like it was ripped from a Lego set, and that's perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast option, which was included, it's not the most bar raising European buffet, but it was great for us and the Kiddos. To be fair, we stayed at a few fairly good places on our Denmark holiday, and the quality bar was probably too high, by the time we got here. Look, what you get here is perfect for your kiddo, and if you are a kid at heart adult, you are likely to get something out of the total experience also. Is it a 5-start resort, nope, but will it make your Lego heart happy, likely yes.
