We came in from the train station and took a private water taxi which we believed was the only way to go and worth the money. Leaving the hotel we also took a water taxi to the airport. The water taxi brings you right to the hotel's front door. It would have been very rough with our suitcases to have traveled via the vaporetto. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only thing I can say was a negative was a broken light in the bathroom couldn't be fixed while we were there which rendered the lighting around the bathroom mirror darker than it already was. Made applying makeup a little more difficult. I would still recommend this hotel. Caio!

Hotel Ca' Formenta is a cute two-story pink facade with 14 guest rooms concealing equally unassuming yet clean and pleasant interiors. Upon entering their tiny lobby adorned in traditional Venetian style with gleaming tile floors, columns, and elegant blue upholstered seating, we were greeted by Elena and made to feel welcome. The room was small and spotlessly clean with Venetian charm to it. We were glad to have great water pressure in the shower and a nice working air conditioner. A complimentary buffet-style breakfast is served daily with a good selection. The staff is always available and wanting to help. Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon, it's a scenic spot, and the nearest vaporetto (water bus) stop is just a three-minute walk away from the hustle and bustle of Piazza San Marco, which is only a 10-minute walk away. There were plenty of dining options and bars in the area, as well as shops. This was chosen by our travel agency, and we cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone reading this review.

I can't give this place enough stars…read more Before I do this, here's a tip. Don't be a cheapskate and try to WALK your luggage to the hotel. Any hotel. Bridges will kill ya. I made us walk because I did not know that public transport (water bus) takes you close to most of the hotels. We had changed hotels at the last minute to the Palezzetto Madonna. We paid less that €100 per night and it was the best decision made. I had us walk with our luggage and kept getting us going in circles. Finally, I called for instructions and they sent an employee to find us and walk us there. Way above and beyond. Our room was beautiful royal blue. Do take advantage of the magic mirror with TV. And, they had just suffered a major flood from the acqua Alta of November 12th (3 weeks ago). You would have never known it. Staff was great. The complimentary breakfast was great as well. Waffles, pancakes, croissants, cereal, fruits, meats and several beverages. The value cannot be beat If we ever get back here, we will stay here again!

The lobby has a bar and restaurant although I did not try either. The room was in reasonably good shape. Everything worked. Some surfaces were worn. The bed was comfortable and there were pillows of different density. there is a shuttle to the airport but not available for pickup at the airport. The taxi from airport is 15 Euros but it is easy enough to walk.

There is, however, a vaporetto stop at this location. Once you get off, you walk through a narrow alley leading to the hotel. It is a flat 5 minute or lesswalk. In order to get to the elevator you have to go up two flights of stairs. The first one consists of approximately 20 steps and the second has 2-3 steps. I had requested an accessible room and this is what they provided us with. The highlight of the hotel is that it is spotlessly clean. The beds are comfortable and the shower is excellent. The breakfast is good. It consists of two or three types of cold cuts, different types of cheese, fruit ( not always fresh), pastry, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and jam. The staff is fairly helpful and courteous. What they could improve: The toilet was very hard to use because toilet paper was on the opposite wall from the toilet so unless you have unusually long hands, you will not be able to reach. The mirror was awkwardly placed and the hair dryer, attached to the wall, was heavy and hard to use. The room is small but doable. Originally, I intended to give this hotel 3 stars, but sitting in my tiny and not so clean hotel room in Florence, Una Hotel definitely deserves 4 stars.
