Rooms were modern and clean and felt, bright, airy and relaxing. The free WiFi was relatively, pretty fast. We had breakfast and dinners included which we ate at the hotel. Breakfasts are the usual continental-style you find across Italy: ham/salami platter, cheese platter, yogurt, cold cereal, rolls/bread; unusually, they did put out hard-boiled eggs. The best part of dinner was an extensive salad bar the pasta, some of which even looked fresh and not dried. We were even given choices for the secondi. Stay away from the "Vegetarian" meals, abyssmal and mostly cold. Location is convenient for the bus to the Punta Sabbioni (pier) to catch the boats to Venice and the outlying islands. The hotel is oceanfront, so the best location for beachgoers. In the nearby Piazza Aurora are plenty of shops for sandwiches and souvenirs, coffee bars, a bank, convenience stores with sodas and booze. Would def recommend if you are planning a visit to Venice.

Front desk, Marco, was super helpful and really made our stay more comfortable; lui è molto bravo! 5 minutes from local piazza, bus stops, trattorias, grocery stores (3) and shopping. Great barber just off piazza near grocery store COOP. Marco recommended Ristorante Gran Viale - (locals eat there) - exceptional! Pasta Carbonara was very good and Insalata Caprese was wonderful. Hotel Rigel was built in the 1960's and retains a unique charm. Staff is attentive and accommodating. Ask for room with furnished balcony, makes for nice dining alfresco after a long day of site seeing in Venice. Cool breezes, nice neighborhood. In summer expect Wisconsin-size Mosquitos! We'd stay again and again! This place will not disappoint.

They give complimentary water taxi service to Murano which was a nice scenary. The included breakfast exceeded my expectations. It was delicious! The rooms are small but so are all rooms in Venice.
