Location, location, location!
Convenient if you travel by train- it is on the other side of the Grand Canal from Santa Lucia train station. If you are taking a cruise from Venice, the Peoplemover Station is few minutes' walk. If you know the way, you can even walk to the cruise ship port- that is if you also travel light because the bridges are not very traveler friendly with many steps up and down without the ramp.
We booked directly on the hotel website for €128.09 to €137.30 for weekdays and €211.02 for Friday. Pay attention to the check out bill if you stay a number of days because they add the total by hand and human error can happen which I learned later that our bill was €10 more than it should be.
Also we were asked to pay tax in cash at check in--€2 per person per day.
The room was roomy for European standard.
The complimentary breakfast was decent with coffee, OJ, toast, pastries, cereal, boiled egg, ham and cheese.
On the last day I found a tiny cockroach in a bag I laid on the floor for 4 days. I told this gentleman I saw that morning, who I guessed is an owner (he later confirmed that he IS an owner), discretely in private about the cockroach. Couple hours later when we got back from the morning walk, they had already came to do something about it. Though we were not sure what's been done. Very efficient and responsive management.
There were couple nights, especially on Friday night, in late hours we heard people down on the street talking, singing, whatever it was noise to our ears. But when you are dead tired it may not bother you too much.
Overall, I'd think this hotel is a good choice. read more
