We made reservations over nine months ago for this past week for a wedding. It was beautiful and well appointed. The Wi-Fi signal does not work especially if you're an AT&T customer. We had to walk down to the lighthouse older phones out and then we were able to download information and call the kids make sure they were doing well. Charlie and Judy are wonderful hosts. One of the most charming things about this was not available which was morning coffee on the veranda of the main house. This was because of Covid. We stayed in the chauffeurs quarters which was great except the front room is all windows no shades and it got so hot in the afternoon that we weren't able to sit out there to enjoy it. We did find out that the door in the sitting area opened up to the screened in porch with other chairs to sit in. That way we were able to get a Crossbreeze going with the fan. There is no air-conditioning. We had a fan Which served his purpose, but it was an unusually hot week that week. I definitely would go back again! Especially if they put in the blinds in the small

Since there was no mention of this on their website and I had emphasized " first floor bedroom " as being necessary, we ( husband and me with walking canes and daughter and husband) arrived to what looked like an impossible situation. After much discussion with the check-in person and no alternatives suggested, plus a large deposit made for 3 nights, we decided to try it. It was so difficult to get up and down the stairs, it affected our entire trip...carry out meals, one daily trip up and down for husband and me, son-in-law hauling luggage, groceries, etc up stairs, etc. Once inside, the cottage is nice, roomy, private, clean and functional. There are 2 master suites with balconies...one downstairs and one upstairs. Downstairs there is a living /dining area ( with tv), and full size kitchen ( bring your own coffee or tea). Upstairs there is a third small room with a queen bed and free washer and dryer and a " hangout out" area with couch, games, etc. The food was delicious. We had breakfast served so had to reheat some items in the microwave. Really enjoyed the morning smoothies. Afternoon cookies are a must; different homemade cookies each day. This place is ideal for able-bodied people but definitely not for those who have mobility or balance issues.

Smuggler's Cove Inn - Egg, mushroom and cheese. Crispy bacon and crispy seasoned potatoes. So good!

The down side is not all areas are easily accessible. The ramps are steep into the buildings with the rooms. I didn't see how to easily access the restaurant on the top of the hill. There is a septic tank smell in the parking lot and near the Peir building where my room was located. The tv is very small for today's standards and I didn't enjoy the direct tv channels. The noise between rooms is very difficult to ignore. The WiFi was spotty also And this will sound crazy but the building rocked when couples were engaged in certain activities in their rooms. That was very unexpected.

It was every bit as good as my first experience! They have it all, peaceful surroundings, beautiful view, boats and kayaks and a fantastic free hot breakfast! Their restaurant "727 Ocean," also serves delicious afternoon appetizers and dinner! The hotel room was plenty roomy with a large dresser with lots of storage for clothes. It has a large mini fridge, and K-cup coffee maker. Also, the doors are all fresh and new for easy operation. I would point out the shower tub is slippery so you should bring a shower mat in the event they can't provide one for you. My wife and I just love this place and will be making this our GO TO place in the Boothbay area. Can't wait to return.

She offered many tips and made sure we were all set. In the morning on the 5th we grabbed some coffee inside the reception area. We toured the gift store and checked out the restaurant menu. We needed a couple extra bath towels and the gentleman behind the reception counter was very helpful and accommodating. Our cottage was the perfect size for the five of us. We even made one bathroom work n with no issues. The bathroom is actually a pretty good size. The bathroom could definitely use some hooks throughout to hang towels and maybe wet bathing suits, etc. Especially since this is geared for a party of 6. We had no problem with hot water. The living room set up is also a decent size with a working fireplace and a table and chairs in the corner. The kitchenette is tiny but packs a lot in there. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were clean and soft. The porch was so inviting. We sat outside numerous times and enjoyed it. The WiFi worked great, no issues. We used the pool one evening and that was perfect after a day of walking. Towels are provided and the pool is heated but not super warm. We had no problem swimming in it. I like that the pool will be open slightly later 830/9 depending on dusk time. Only complaint is how fast some cars go out front in the property. My concern is there is many people in that area on and off during the day including children. But, that is no fault to them. Maybe speed bumps to help slow people down? Overall this is a great location with beautiful views.

Great view of the water doesn't offset the bad Points. They need to do some upgrades and clean.
