Cáceres felt rather sleepy but it was that perfect stop on our Spanish road trip adventure. I would come back in heartbeat. And I'm picky. This place won't disappoint. The twin beds pushed together concept in Europe takes some getting used to. Know that there are other options. Remember to ask before unpacking all of your stuff. Thank you for making our trip around Spain and our Cáceres stop memorable!

The staff have some knowledge of the area and are happy to share. The service and cuisine was good but as mentioned, some dishes were a bit oversalted in case that's a concern, just be aware.

The snow filled mountains surround the main hotel building and the many walking paths. As you walk into the building two doors open and you are greeted by high ceilings, a wooden staircase, and an open lobby with a bar, several couches, and a lounge area. The staff are welcoming and speak both English and Spanish. My room was on the second floor and was beautiful! The beams from the original building frame the ceiling. The beams lead to an open window, which in my room opened up to the back of the hotel which gave a view of the mountains and gorgeous horses. Inside the spacious room was a double bed, large desk with a flat screen TV, medium sized bathroom with a tub, and a double closet with a vanity and mirror. There is also a mini bar with storage for food. The service at the hotel is great with housekeeping coming in everyday and making up the beds, replacing toiletries, and cleaning. When I would return in the afternoon the window was always open with the room warm and the bed made up. The beds are extremely comfortable making it difficult to get up in the morning for breakfast. The food at the hotel was good most days. I really enjoyed the pumpkin soup, cava dessert drink, and the varieties of fish. The staff serving the food were also very nice and flexible about changing our orders as needed. Overall my stay was wonderful and I definitely would return again!!

Hotel Tryp Colina do Castelo
I recently spent 3 nights at Hotel Tryp in Castelo Branco. It's located a few minutes walk from…read morethe historic castle that the town is named for, and just a few more minutes from the town itself. The hotel sits on a hillside, and the rooms on the front side of the building have spectacular views and balconies. The rooms themselves are clean, well maintained, and have modern fixtures and decor. My only complaint about my room was that it didn't have enough electrical outlets. Other amenities include tennis courts and a nice pool. Most of the staff speak English and/or Spanish in addition to Portuguese, and were very friendly and helpful. The hotels restaurant was also very enjoyable, with daily specials for lunch and dinner in addition to the a la carte menu and dinner buffet. The menu was fairly priced and the quality of the food was above-average for a typical hotel restaurant. I enjoyed my stay, and have no reason to not use this hotel again on future visits to Castelo Branco.
