Stayed here for a work trip back in April with other coworkers. We pretty much had all the rooms booked since it was 8 of us. The rooms are cute however real small. I had no place to store my luggage. Also, wasp and bees was flying around all the containers so be prepared for that. Mostly by containers 6 & 7 on that enOther than that I do recommend this is place. The bed was comfy, the fridge was cold, and the shower was hot. That's all I need. We loved our weekend staycation! Everything you need is there, a pool, Gemelle restaurant and Stewart's cocktail lounge. We loved drinking our coffee in the morning and cocktails at night on our upstairs patio! What an amazing experience! My wife and I came to Ft. Worth just to get out of town for a day and found this out of the way bungalow hotel. We were greeted by a smiling hostess, Mitzi. She took the time to show us around the property and everything it had to offer. We sat at the bar and had a drink and dessert in the cute diner. Couldn't believe when our waitress said the first drink was on them. We then walked over to the croquet/martini bar and speakeasy! That was fun and had some very original and delicious drink made by Eric. If you visit the speak easy, push open the bookcase.... We will definitely return for a more than one day trip! read more

We stayed one night here while going to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. It was okay, not as great as I expected from the website and pictures. Their main priority and focus seems to be the restaurant and the "hotel" is a side business. The lady who checked us in, Lily, was great when we found her at the bar - the emails did not explain where to check - and she explained to us that it is more of an Airbnb feel as there will not be staff on site unless the restaurant is open. After we checked in, we each got a complimentary drink and Lily lead us to our shipping container room. We also got a complimentary Aperol Spritzer package in our room, which was cute. Hotel Otto is very cute, but the upkeep is not great for how cute it is... for example, the container we stayed in had scratches or stains on basically all of the walls and if they cleaned them and didn't have as much stuff in there, it would give the inside the same feel as how cute the outside is. I feel this shows the care and attention is lacking which is sad for how cool this could be. We also noticed that the plug to the reading light was broken and just had wires hanging out behind the bed. The mattress topper was so soft you just sink into the bed or roll into your significant other, same with the pillows. The heater took us a minute to figure out and then took forever to warm up the room (we stayed in early February). The shade on the front window was broken and we could not raise or lower them all the way so when we laid down to sleep, we had a sliver of light from the string lights outside that stay on all night and with the wind, they just sparkled like stars ALL NIGHT! We could never get the internet to work with the passwords provided and the TV didn't work. All in all, the inside was cute but not kept up by the staff in a way we believe a hotel or Airbnb should be. If all you are looking for is aesthetics and instagram pictures, then this is very cute with the roof top hang out and the fact you are staying in a shipping container but if you are looking for a nice, relaxing or romantic night, I would suggest somewhere else. read more

We really enjoyed our stay for 6 nights (aha). We were in Fort Worth for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was at Jemelle. My BFF suggested we stay here, and I booked a container right away. The staff was incredible!! Warm, accommodating and eager to please. Robyn, Lily and Josie are THE best! I'm extremely grateful to all 3 gals for being so gracious each day. Huge shout out to Robyn especially when she stepped up at lightning speed to solve a little issue with our bed sheets. Yes, the container itself is quite small for two, but nevertheless super FUN, very clean, nicely furnished and definitely a unique experience:) LUV the roof top as well. The free drinks included with our stay were an unexpected BONUS! The food at Jemelle is next level and I'm not an Italian foodie like so many. I highly recommend this boutique Hotel and the yummy dishes at Gemelle! read more

Gemelle/Hotel Otto is a really interesting and fun concept. As someone else noted, this is primarily a restaurant (Gemelle) situated on resort-like grounds that coincidentally has a collection of container rooms (Hotel Otto) next door. Don't expect a traditional hotel experience and you'll enjoy yourself. Imagine a very nice restaurant/bar with a collection of tiny homes on site. The restaurant and bar are both great and the staff is friendly and pleasant. The grounds are very pretty. The containers are cute and well-appointed, but small (160 square feet). Pack lightly and use the available storage to limit clutter. The rooftop decks are a nice touch and a good place for a morning coffee or evening beverage. The property is adjacent to the Trinity River--bring some bug repellent. As with any property of any age exposed to Texas weather, there are some maintenance issues: there's some wear and tear here and there, some of the locks are janky, and the like. Nothing tragic. Make sure you understand how to work everything and that everything works. There's no one on site after the restaurant closes. Give it a try for a night or two. If you have your mind right, you'll enjoy it. read more

Excellent overall experience. More of a restaurant with a hotel attached than vice versa. Hotel rooms were fun and nice - sort of like living in a tiny house for a day. Just don't expect Wi-Fi signals to get through the boxcar metal. Food: Pasta is exceptional. I'm a bit of an Italian food snob, and their scratch-made bucatini w/ lamb ragout was delicious. Wife's Cacio e pepe was also excellent Pizza was a bit greasy, but interesting and tasty toppings to choose from. It's NY or Detroit style - so don't expect the pasta authenticity to apply to the pizzas. But they own that up front, so you know what you're getting. read more

We decided to meet family in town from Chicago and needed a place to stay. I booked 3 days in advance and was able to pick my room. I read reviews and browsed picture prior to arriving to the property so I knew what to expect for the room. What I didn't know..... While booking I let Hotel Otto know we would arrive around 8. We live just north of Houston and I had already planned to host a market & Easter event that same day until 3pm. We arrive at Hotel Otto/ Gemelle. There wasn't any parking available besides the 1 ADA spot and 15 minute check in parking. I took the check in parking. We walked around the front trying to figure out where to check into the hotel. The front door of Gemelle had a sign blocking the doors so we walked to the patio where the hostess greeted us. She directed us to the bar area for check in. We reach the bar area and we're greeted by two ladies. Both very nice. We arrived a little after 7, and I let them know I had made reservations at Gemelle for 8 (this was the latest Open table allowed). We arrived sweaty, sun burned and in the clothes we had been in all day for an outside event. We were given a tour of the property, told we get welcome drinks as well as there being ingredients in the room for Aperoll Spritz. She (I did not catch her name) asked if we needed anything else. I mentioned we wanted to do a fire so she grabbed a starter log and lighter and brought back to us. She also called me a few moments later and told us not to rush for reservations she moved them back. I was so thankful I was dying for a shower and to change. The rooms are cute, they are smaller than the average hotel room but they pack in all the amenities. It's a container so go in with the right expectations and you'll have a great time! The roof top deck is such a nice touch with the fire pit. We made it to Gemelle around 8:30 and what an experience we had! It was awesome! We over ordered and took a lot to go! The food was absolutely delicious and we hadn't eaten all day so we got a bit of everything to try. For my welcome drink I chose Season of the Witch YUMMM! My husband chose Roma I believe it was, he must have really enjoyed it because he ordered 3. We also ordered the Saturday special, margarita pizza, crispy chicken Alfredo, Cesar salad and garlic parmesan bread sticks. We took their gelato to go, so we could sit by the fire to eat. The hospitality was unmatched! Everyone was so nice! We will be back for sure! Next time we want to enjoy the pool and sun deck! read more

Do NOT stay at the hotel. Air conditioner does not cool the room no matter how many hours you leave it running, spider in room, bathroom floor filthy, grounds around room not maintained, cob webs, etc. Pool area swarming with wasps, you'll spend your "leisurely" time swatting them away. The parking lot is disgusting, we should have turned around and left before we ever checked in TBH! Hotel is in less than desirable location, LOCK-UP everything if you know what I mean!!! Hotel staff does not care about your experience, has not returned one call or email I sent them before posting this! I would NEVER recommend this filthy place to anyone!!! read more

This is a very unique hotel. We stayed for 3 nights over new years eve weekend 2024. The staff is very nice and we had appetizers from the restaurant which were delicious. However the pillow toppers are way too soft for all of us. (we had 3 rooms) we took them off and stored under the bed. For being there for 3 days they should replenish the coffee pods daily as well as the ice if they want you to drink the liquor they provide and sodas etc. We enjoyed the complimentary Aperol Spritz poolside. It's a bit of gymnastics to get over your significant other to go to the restroom as the bed is against the wall. The rooftop was fun to sit in the sun and then watch fireworks on new years eve. read more

From te complimentary cocktail upon arrival to your own personal attendant to take you for the property tour and to your private bungalow. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary. Upon my request, the room was decorated with assorted colored rose petals and our champagne for two! Along with this, the complimentary Aperol Spritz fixings makes it extra special with the recipe to make the perfect drink. The bed was extremely comfortable and felt luxurious. Perfect pleasure to sit up on the rooftop balcony over looking white twinkle lights. By day at the pool and poolside bar, was perfect. The service truly exceptional. The experience was more than we could have ever asked for and I want to personally thank the management staff that was at the hotel on 6/11/22. Hotel Otto was a fun and has a great vibe. The container sleeping arrangements were well appointed, and the grounds were beautiful. Dinner at Gremmel was delicious. The hotel has a cool Palm Springs/Italian vibe which was fun and the staff was kind. Have to give it 3 stars as the pool container was rusty and we had ants in our bed keeping us from having a good nights sleep. Honestly, we had an AMAZING stay. PEOPLE make the stay... the people, the grounds, the "secluded" but close-to-action location, THE FOOD were all PERFECT!! A few things we unfortunately were missing... 1) with our reservation and TWICE after, I requested things for our stay before we arrived... NOT ONE was responded to, followed up on or completed. 2) Our [SUPER AMAZING, PRIVATE] room, #7, was great... but missing any soap, one remote was broken [not entirely sure what it was for, presumably the automatic blinds], cream for expresso (or even a note about where/how to get it in the AM), prices for alcohol in the room and "little goodies" the rooms were stocked with were obnoxiously priced. We would love to splurge and come back but unless you get what you pay, from start to finish, it'll be tough... Overall, my boyfriend and I left satisfied with our stay at Hotel Otto. When we arrived it was raining so we were not given much of a tour, which is understandable. I do wish, however, we were offered umbrellas when they were taking us to our room as we got soaked during that time. Upon arrival to our room, the rug was soaked, and the entire floor was damp with water coming up between each piece of the vinyl flooring. It remained this way the entirety of our stay. We did opt in for the dinner+movie date night package. We made our complimentary Aperol Spritz, which was nice, but we never received our complimentary bottle of champagne, like advertised. Our dinner at Gemelle's was fantastic. All of the food was delicious, and the drinks were spot on. Once we got back to our room, we had a small bowl of popcorn (wish there was more) and 2 small boxes of candy for us to enjoy. The hotel otto staff never contacted us beforehand to have snacks that suit our taste, like advertised. We also got breakfast in bed the following morning since it was a bit cold outside. The breakfast was alright. I found it to be very pricey for what was offerred. It also was not a traditional pancakes and waffles kind of breakfast. It was $70 for breakfast for 2 people. If we come back, we are unlikely to do the movie+dinner package as I feel like what was offered was not worth our money. However, we will be eating at Gemelle's again as it was outstanding! read more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Otto and ate at Gemelle on 12/28/24. We were on time for our 6:45p reservation, and there were delays on every course - appetizers, pasta, and dessert. We waited 30 minutes for our appetizer, and our server came to apologize and let us know there was a problem with the pizza dough and it was being remade - but there was never any offer to comp any element of the meal. Then, at 1 AM, we heard a barrage (approximately 14) of gunshots outside our room. It was loud, and scary enough for us to immediately pack our bags and leave the hotel at approximately 1:15 AM. There is no member of the Hotel Otto staff on premises after the restaurant closes so there was no one for us to speak with about this issue that evening. We called the hotel the next morning, and were told that a manager needed to call us back the next day. There was no attempt to contact us for almost 5 days - after which I called and finally spoke with someone. The manager attempted to downplay our fears, and chalk the noise up to fireworks. After a back and forth about the disappointing experience at the restaurant and the distressing evening at the hotel, the Hotel Otto staff is refusing a refund (claiming their contracted agreements prohibits reimbursements) and has offered a 50% discount to return to the hotel for a re-do. Suffice to say we will not be spending any more money for them to attempt to make this right with us. read more

What did they not think of?! We had a great weekend away staying at Hotel Otto. The rooms are beautiful, the roof tops allow for a romantic evening listening to the nearby bands with the ambience of the twinkle lights shining. To enjoy your evenings even more, I would recommend saving your complimentary cocktails from Gemelle, or make the complimentary Aperol Spritz straight from your room when you are ready to relax on the rooftop. Such a nice touch to a weekend away! Other notable items - The bed was 10/10, fresh fruit for the Aperol Spritz was great, complimentary toothbrushes (because who hasn't forgotten to pack a toothbrush), the body lotion smelt divine, and sooo much more! This micro hotel is full of charm and creativity, well appointed and artsy. The restaurant and garden area make you want to stay all day when the sun is out, sipping a delicious frozen Aperol Spritz and eating the well executed Italian food. As cute as the hotel rooms are, be advised that they are SMALL. The room is as wide as a queen bed is long, and the bed is placed with one long side against the back wall, meaning that one person has to crawl over the other to get in bed and has no bedside table or place to put a drink or phone. This was way too tight for us, and we're not big people. I felt very claustrophobic in there. The staff were all great, friendly, accommodating. The only strange thing was when we ordered coffee for the room we were delivered 2 uncovered cups of coffee that had been walked over from the restaurant, not an insulated carafe? The mugs are from the coffee brand Illy, and although they are cool to look at they are very difficult to hold. I would recommend changing these out. My husband and I have loved Gemelle for years, highly recommend, but can't say the same for the hotel containers :/ read more

Cute tiny homes placed next to each other! When you check in, they give you a complimentary drink when you arrive and provide you another one when you get to your home. The top included a little fireplace. However, we weren't given the proper materials to start a fire, the fire went out once it got lit and just wouldn't stay lit. And when we called for another starter, nobody picked up. Aside from the fact that there was someone cleaning our windows in the early morning (thank god for curtains), and the fact that you can hear talking, walking on the top of the house, it was overall a great place with a delicious restaurant next to it. read more

I expected so much more for the price per night. We didn't have hand soap, only shampoo and body wash. There were gnats and flies in the room. Throughout the night a foul smell was coming from the restroom and only got worse, we just had to tolerate it. The bed was comfortable though, and the property was beautiful! Let me first of all say- the staff was incredible. They were all so friendly, especially the bar tender with the cat tattoo (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!). They had emailed me two days before asking if there were any accommodations we needed. I tried to email back about a reservation, and possibly setting something up for my husbands 30th birthday, but never heard anything back. I had to call to get a check in time, and had no idea what check out time was without reading others reviews. Check in seemed a little, not coordinated but not a big deal! We were showed our room, but not the rest of the property so we had no idea pool hours, or anything like that. Thankfully I had made a reservation ahead of time for dinner because that also wasn't asked about. The cocktails in room and welcome cocktails were amazing. I definitely recommend the bitter sweet as your welcome cocktail. The pool bar is suppose to be full service but we had to go ask for drinks inside a busy restaurant in our swim suits as the outside bar wasn't open and no one came to check in on us. We got back and asked for a fire and chest of ice. There was a burn ban, so totally get not being able to do the fire- no fault of theirs!, but we didn't get the ice. Now for the rooms- the bed, incredible. Sheets, incredible. AC, incredible. Tv placement, incredible. Not incredible- they don't give you a trash can, paper towels or rags (so if you make a drink in the room there's nothing to clean it with), you only get two towels, a hand towels and one wash cloth. Our sink leaked so bad that it flooded the bathroom, and we didn't have anything to clean it up, because we didn't have any towels. some of the decor was broken and there was a picture with mold below the AC unit... not good. the sign for our unit was broken and the upstairs patio has seen better days. The rug was torn, there was trash and miscellaneous items and no umbrella, which is a little odd in the Texas heat. Some pros, it's a cute little set up, the food and drinks are amazing, the pool is temperature controlled and like I said- the staff is great. Overall, it's a great idea, it just seems like it's not well taken care of. We had a good time, but would we stay there again for the money it costs? Probably not, which breaks my heart to say. Oh man. Dreading writing this review but I feel the need to warn anyone who sees how cute it looks and goes in with high expectations. I have a feeling this place, at least the "hotel" part, will be closing soon. Let me start by saying the restaurant was great. It's open late, we had complimentary lemoncello and a round of free drinks. I'm a mom to a young child and wanted to stay somewhere local after my wedding since I hadn't been away from my baby yet, and they were so sweet to us knowing we had just gotten married. The menu was very impressive and the food was great. One of the reasons I picked this place was that on the website, it states you can get breakfast at the restaurant starting at 8am. I wanted to get home to my little one, so waking up, eating and checking out sounded perfect! Inside our bungalow was an information booklet, and it stated dine in breakfast started at 7am, or that we could call the room service line. Even better! The room service line was dead. There is no room service. In fact, there was nobody at the restaurant at all that morning. It was completely closed, so we decided to leave and eat somewhere else. A restaurant employee was showing up for their morning shift as we left. There wasn't even anyone to check us out. It was pretty dead for a Friday night, the hotel and the restaurant. Really a shame because the concept is cute and the food was great. The grounds were unkept. The pool is said to be heated in some reviews- it currently is not, which was disappointing because that was another reason we chose this place. Pretty disappointing over all, which I hate because I was so excited! Seems very under staffed, like they are unable to offer all of the amenities they advertise. Toby, our server, was an angel. I should have paid more attention to the size of the container.The rooms are very small almost claustrophobic.There's no comfortable seating inside and using the bathroom is a challenge.The window blinds don't block the string lights well enough,obviously a problem because there are eye masks on the headboard.If you prefer a firmer bed beware they are extremely soft . read more

The hotel stay was very quiet and secluded. The living space itself is small but that's what we were going for. The pool space was large enough to enjoy. The rooftops of the units made a very nice scenery change. The room was nice looking, clean, and bed was insanely soft with back support to boot. Over the course of two nights the only thing that seemingly bothered us was that there were no microwaves. It's keeping the 5 stars because of the amazing restaurant Gemelle and professional staff who helped us at the hotel. The microwave thing was just a minor annoyance and in my opinion did not affect the total stay enough to chip off a star. read more

Very strange little place. Check-in is at the bar, if you can get someone to show up. They seemed to be understaffed, but the staff that was there was really friendly and nice. The room could've been cleaner, and bigger. I didn't realize when I booked that it was a 'microtel,' so maybe that was my fault. I expected a typical-sized motel room, but it was tiny. The roomettes look like they were made from cutting shipping containers in thirds, and fitting them out. Very strange little place. We don't plan to stay there again, but some might like it very much. Really nice staff. read more

I tried calling 15 times to get ahold of someone to cancel my reservation, then tried emailing, which was returned undeliverable. Then when all else failed i had a friend that lives in Fort Worth stop by and cancel my reservation, which she was supposedly successful in doing. And I'm somehow still getting a "thanks for staying with us" email. This is the most poorly run establishment i have had the pleasure of cancelling on. I will never again reserve a room here when I'm back home in Fort Worth and i will tell everyone i know in Fort Worth how poorly run this establishment is. I got one follow up email asking for what email address bounced and the phone number that wasn't answered but no follow up after giving both pieces of information. Truly bad experience. read more
