If you like old world charm this is the place. Great friendly helpful staff (especially Valentina) hotel was clean. From here we visited Pisa, Lucca, Viareggio, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, Gimignano & Florence. Yes we were active, and loved every minute. We found friendly and helpful people everywhere even if they did not speak English. We had a superior room with a terrace. We had no issues with noise with the windows closed( it was cold outside) . We did not have any issues with the WiFi in our room, but we were not in Italy to be on line. Our bathroom was large & updated, nice hot shower with good pressure. Our bed was comfortable, furniture in the room was dated but adequate. The breakfast was good. We got tired of bacon & eggs so we went across the street for delicious pastries a couple of mornings. Yes the elevator was small & slow so we used the beautiful staircase. I would return in a heartbeat!

We took the train to most places and there is a train stop about 200 meters from the hotel entrance. Another huge up-side is the staff. From the front desk, to cleaning service, breakfast service, or the bar, they were all very professional and very nice and friendly. Overall we were satisfied with the place. Renee, who runs the bar and food and beverage was outstanding. He went out of his way to help in any way. He recommended restaurants, wineries, wines or whatever we asked. He was an amazing help and always seemed to be at the hotel. Not sure if he ever gets a day off. The 2 complaints I have are the bathroom and the included breakfast. The bathroom and shower are WAY smaller than shown on the website. It's actually the smallest shower I've ever been in. You can't wash without hitting the handle and either turning the water off, or making it freeze or burn you. It is not made for the average sized human. The other complaint is the included breakfast. Maybe this is because it's during covid, but there were literally only 1 or 2 hot options to choose from and they seemed to be the same every day. Otherwise sometimes there was some fruit or some bread, but not really what I was expecting or even close to anywhere else I've stayed all over Europe. Again, for the price and the experience with the staff, this place is great.

Boiled egg, breads (variety but not appealing), warm yogurt. Dinner was horrible - we actually walked 2 blocks or so to Cibus afterwards since it was not good at all! (See my review for Cibus). So the hotel... what we saw online was not what we received. Rooms are basic, mattress on thin and uncomfortable, showers are tiny. The rooms do not have consistent blankets from room to room (we had 50 on our tour and everyone described different bedding.) and sheets are thin. You get the picture a budget inn. AC cuts off at 5:00 am so you wake up hot! This on top of that I went to bed both nights barely able to dry off as the humidity from the shower made the room unbearable. I did notice a few other hotels around and could see their breakfasts included juice and more expansive options while walking to Cibus do try another place in town. Note this hotel is ~45 minutes to Florence in a quiet/walkable neighborhood from food and shops.

Although our group mainly traveled by bus, some of our group took the train back and forth to Florence. Theres 2 stops into montecatini terme and everyone said it was quite easy to do. Its also about 1 hour or so from Siena and 2 hours to the sea by car. The hotel itself was older but I thought quite lovely. My room had high ceilings and big shuttered windows that opened a la "a room with a view," and the bed was very comfortable. There's also a large scenic park next door that locals used and was great for exercising in the morning. Only not so great things were the showers which were pretty tiny. Some in our group didnt have wands in their showers. Also the included breakfast, while totally acceptable was not the extensive spread I've seen elsewhere in italy and Europe. Overall though, a great 4 night stay here! I wish we could have stayed longer!

We had a king bed with an upstairs loft with a single bed. The bathroom was a little small, but we made it work. However the room didn't have a chest of drawers so we had to pile everything into the closet which only had 5 hangers. The staff at Grand Hotel Vittoria is amazing. From check-in, to dining, to check-out everyone was so helpful and nice. We didn't take advantage of the on-site spa or outdoor pool & steam room. D did hit the health club, but he came back shortly and said the weight machine was broken. We did dine at the restaurant for one dinner, which was very good. And we had their breakfast buffet every morning but it was the same thing each day for the 7 mornings we were there. The bar/lounge is very nice. They had have grand piano and allowed D to entertain us most evenings. The bartenders were a lot of fun and kept our drinks supplied. I liked staying at the Grand Hotel Vittoria. It's proximity to Pisa, Florence, Sienna and other Tuscan cities is perfect - no more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours of a drive. And Montecantini Terme is a nice city with plenty of restaurants and night life.

The staff is as good as any concierge at any hotel I've ever stayed at, and the view from our lanais was beautiful. Our room had all the amenities that one would want -- fridge, safe, (two) desks, plenty of outlets and a TV. The mattress was ultra firm, which I prefer. My wife ... not so much. Either way, we both really enjoyed this place and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Just one warning... Don't patronize the laundry service, which they contract out. Of course, our laundry came back clean -- at 5 Euros per item. We're talking socks, underwear and T-shirts. Two days of clothing for three of us was close to 100 Euros. Unacceptable. In fact, highway robbery. It is my hope that the laundry service gets flooded or struck by lightning (no injuries, of course), because they are thieves. The folks at the hotel also seemed surprised (though I doubt it) and gave me two free drinks. I encourage the management at this inn to find another laundry contractor. Otherwise, this place is wonderful.

The furniture of the rooms is spartan, but absolutely sufficient, especially considering the very low rate. The owners are really hospitable, which is something that we first noticed during check-in when we were warmly welcomed. And when we came to the breakfast room the next morning, we even found two pieces of freshly baked cake at our table, along with bread, different kinds of cheese and sausages, juice, coffee, and so on.
