One of 2 outdoor hot tubs

This is wonderful option in a town without too many hotels to chose from. Hotel Marshfield has a lot of really nice touches that makes it stand out, such as glassware in them rooms instead of plastic or styrofoam. I also really enjoyed the decent free breakfast (also with real plates, cups and silverware) and the pool, though outdoor, is pretty nice. It has 2 nice hot tubs and a sauna (that are open year round). Beds are comfortable and everything seemed to be clean. Updated TV, coffee maker and fridge. Just a couple of drawbacks that may or may not be a big deal to you: -smaller bathroom -spotty WiFi -can be loud on pool side (only until 10pm) -no indoor pool -no movie channels (but lots of other options)

The rooms are new and fresh. The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant seems nice. But it closed at 9:00pm on a Friday night! No food here for hungry late arrivals. Marshfield restaurants all seem to close at 9pm except the Hardee's drive thru is open 24hrs. The rooms have a dirty secret: THE bathroom SINK HAS NO COUNTER SPACE. Just a tiny 6"x6" triangular corner for whatever toiletries you or (heaven help you) your wife has. Contact lens insertion and removal? Barely room for that stuff. Makeup, etc.? Good luck with that. Seriously, who designs a bathroom layout with zero countertops? Much less a bathroom countertop for travelers. The sink could be remediated with a rectangular board/plate placed over part of it up against the wall. $5 would do it. Several women staying here suggested the sink might be more useful for bathing a baby. I agree.

This newly renovated property exemplifies just how creative someone can be. We found several little checklist which were very usable and made life easy well we stayed here. With two world pools each set at different temperatures and a sauna, it's a perfect environment to relax a little. The restaurant featured several highly creative dishes which everyone in our group enjoyed.

    Huge heated pool.

The public spaces are quite lush with a gorgeous courtyard with pool, plenty of seating and a sauna.

Worst check in experience I've ever had at a Holiday Inn…read more The woman was like a robot with a very negative message and attitude . (In monotone) "Welcome to the Holliday Inn, the pool is closed for remodeling, we do not offer free breakfast here because we are a conference center not a holiday inn express, enjoy your stay". First of all, why wasn't the pool closure shared when the reservation was made? Telling people when they check in (unless it was a last minute issue) is pretty damn shady. My next issue was the breakfast comment by, I didn't ask about any breakfast (because I know Holiday Inns don't offer it) so why give me a lecture about this is not an Express? Next I got to my room and turned on the TV and found that all channels have digital numbers (such as 49.1). The cheep remote only has whole numbers so it is absolutely worthless! You can't key in a number like 49.1, you have to start at the bottom and work your way through the entire list of channels! They have approximately 80 channels available and you have to click up or down (one by one) to get to each station. (So if you want to change the channel may have to go though all 80 channels to find your program). Don't even think about surfing for something to watch! The TV has no menu so you have to just sit and press up and down until you might find something to watch. Frustrating to say the least! I really thought I was wrong about the horrible TV situation so I called the front desk and asked how to change the channel and I was told "with the remote". (Yeah.... Wasn't impressed with that response!) I used to stay at this hotel a lot in the past (for work) but had some issues. It's been a while so I Thought I'd give them a try again, this will be my last. Workers with bad attitudes are unfortunately becoming more and more of the norm of late, and I hate to completely blame businesses for the talent pool of employees that are out there. But, the cheapness of the small TV and worthless remote, and the poor communication about the pool has made me wish I would have stayed elsewhere. If you don't watch TV or don't care if a hotel has a hot tub or pool (hopefully this will be fixed sooner than later) than maybe you'll be happy here. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

It's across from the hospital, making it a nice spot for those needing to be near family at the hospital, and it's also down the street from the Ronald McDonald house. The prices are beyond reasonable for what you get: a clean room and a good location. There's no restaurant, room service, or lobby bar, but there are lots of nearby places for food and drinks. The rooms are awkward by today's standard, the clothes hangers right as you walk in, the desk by the front window, the bed near the raised back window. The nods to modern life are the big screen tv, the small refrigerator and microwave, and the window unit air conditioning. I don't know if the room really had blackout curtains but they did the job. Between that and the air conditioning, there was plenty of white noise to block out the not-so-busy street traffic. The strategically placed tables and chairs in a common area outside the unit, give those who want to enjoy the weather, or have a cigarette, a place to do so. Overall, I rather liked the old school attitude, but the morning coffee in the lobby? Yuck. For sitting and chatting, the lobby is perfect when it's too hot to sit outside or the cigarette smoke is too much.

We walked in, and as soon as you open the door to go in, the place is disgusting!!!! I couldn't believe how anyone who puts their name to a building, can allow such a disgusting place!!! I immediately looked under the mattress to check for bed bugs. When you walk in, the stench is beyond belief. The smells are combined with dry urine, feces, and stank ass garbage that has been rotting for weeks. It seems to be sketchy with the people staying there, and furthermore, I think some of the people actually live there. The outside is awful and not kept up to par whatsoever. I'd rather the doors stay closed to do a complete renovation, and better yet, CONDEMN this place!!!!!!! Never in my life have I ever been so disgusted. My fiance' and I decided to leave at 12 midnight, and stay st Woodfield Inn in Marshfield, WI. Woodfield was amazing, so look out for that review. 7 star motel??? More like -7 start!!!! What a terrible place!!!! Tear it down!!!!!!!!!

Now called 7 Star Motel, this motel was all over the place for me…read more The front desk person (maybe the manager?): 5 stars -- all kinds of awesome. He needs to be cloned immediately. I had some problems with my reservation. I ended up canceling it and shortly thereafter the manager called, offering to re-instate it.. When I finally checked in, he was helpful, enthusiastic, and suggested lots of nearby activities if I suddenly found myself needing to escape from friends and family for a while. Seriously -- clone this man. The room was quiet, but both it and the hotel itself did show some wear. Despite that, it worked fine for what I needed. There was a refrigerator, a TV with bigger than usual selection of channels, and a window unit air conditioner that really threw out the cold air. On the other hand, the wi-fi was problematic. I never could get it to work for more than 10 or 15 minutes. I finally gave up. As a practical matter, I'm okay with a green hotel where housekeeping changes the bed linens every three days, but I'd prefer to know that upfront. Here, they didn't change them at all. And, although there's the requisite coffee pot, it seems it's for show and not meant to be used. It wasn't cleaned and the coffee was never replaced. In addition, quite a few of the light bulbs were burnt out and stayed that way. The location is great, off a main state road, but nearby anything you might need. For a low budget, no frills option on the edge of town, this place works. Just keep your expectations conservative.
