After a long search, viewing room categories and based on the reviews I booked a DELUXE room with this hotel in October 2018 for a May 2019 stay which to this hotel means absolutely nothing. Deluxe rooms have views of St. Stephens Cathedral (or so they say but I'll never know). I had several email communications with this hotel asking questions, then booked directly with them and final email communication right before we left to DOUBLE CONFIRM my reservation. We arrived at 1pm and were told our room wasn't ready. Returned at 2pm to a busy reception. We were given a room key and headed to our room. First "uh oh" sign the hallway has an old dull feel and the carpet dirty/not vacuumed. When I opened the door I was shocked to see a depressing tiny room with debri on this carpet as well. Went downstairs explaining there must be a mistake I booked a deluxe room. I knew exactly what I booked according to their website, emails and I had my paper confirmation with room type on it. I was told there were no more deluxe rooms available WOW!! I explained I booked a DELUXE room 7 months ago and cannot stay in that (horrific) room for 8 days AND confirmed my booking just days ago. So I was given a "prestige" room. The room is bigger than deluxe room BUT I did not like or want this type room plus it has an open concept style bathroom that I DID NOT want or I would have booked that damm room (not that I would have gotten it!) but since they gave my room away I booked 7 months ago and didn't honor, it was this room or the depressing room they tried to dump on me (and would have overcharged me for if I didn't know the room types). So we enter this "prestige" room the carpet and the table has debri all over and it feels dark, worn, bed is soft and the pillows are so flat you can literally fold it three times AND it's an open style bathroom. It took 2 days for them to clean the table and vacuum the floor! This hotel is not a 4 star luxury hotel and is way to expensive for what you get. When I travel I do rely on reviews for my decision but this one I got burned. The only positives for this hotel is location and WiFi. With all the good reviews for this hotel they must have booked years in advance and got the great rooms boasted about. read more
